In the beginning of a match, when you see your character appear, immediately look at the top left corner of your screen. You will see the leaderboard that will, at the moment, only display real player teams. If you're the only team on it, the rest of the lobby are bots.

Bot teams start appearing on the leaderboard as soon as you can move your character. If there are three real player teams on the leaderboard there could be even more since it only shows the top three teams.

At the end of the game you will be able to see all of the real players that use Steam because it will show their ID below their name, but some players don't have a Steam ID because they are using a different launcher.
