TL;DR
Use GE-Proton. Tested and works with GE-Proton8-14.
GE-Proton Installation
  1. Download the latest release of GE-Proton[github.com]
  2. Extract the contents of the archive into
    ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d
  3. Restart steam
  4. Under the preferences for Dokapon Kingdom, set GE-Proton as the forced compatibility tool.

Yeah, I can update the guide for it. I thought it was beyond the scope of this guide.

Method confirmed working today.
You might find it easier to install GE-Proton with the Proton Up Qt tool. :unmaskedmimic:
