i had same problem .. untill i linked my steam with ea...for a second time ,, then looked at my library in ea .. then they all worked.

thank you for the guide! in addition, if u have problems with extracting, just use a simple tool like 7zip. right click the dlc's .exe file, open the folder with 7zip or extract, you will see a folder named something like "$_2_". open it and you will see "addins" folder. you have to move/copy this folder into the game's path. it will look like this:

steam/steamapps/common/dragon age 2/addins

i happen to found this fix through reddit subs.

i never had any problems with games on steam, but once EA is involved things just go bad eventually. why am i not surprised :/ i was about the purchase this game for a 2nd time if i couldn't find a solution. lol. i still have issues like i have to try multiple times to start the game, i have a bug whenever i start the game the options revert to default so i gotta reclick the fullscreen option from settings, etc. if there was a way to disable ea app i would be so happy.

Hello fella, im sorry for my poor english i am a spanish native speaker. Anyway i have a problem, addins file isn't generate in my folder. I tried to reinstall the game but that didn't work. Hopefully you know how i can generate the file. Thank you for the post anyway.

well your way doesnt work but after that i realised i can also log in to ea in the game ( while i was already loged in to the launcher) so u have kinda to be loged in to steam, conected to ea, loged to ea and then in the game to log in again xdddd
but well, then it works, you can see it in extras if you have all the "extra" stuff

I do not know about EA play if it launches from steam or has a separate loader.

Even this fix is old, as starting DAO 2 from steam now opens an EA app which it didn't do in the past. However I have tested and this fix still works for the following situation.

Steam purchase of DOA2 ultimate. With successful linked EA account but no DLC showing.
Your situation is different so may/may not work, good luck.

Lol dude. I just bought EA Play on Steam from the Dragon Age 2 Ultimate Edition page and I'm looking for a solution. You should either point out that this guide doesn't apply to EA Play or delete this guide because your guide is basically useless because in order to get DLC for the Ultimate Edition purchased without EA Play, you just need to sign in to your EA account in the game (and there is already a guide for that).

No reason to edit the manifest.xml files.


If you are clicking the downloadable content tab in menu and it is saying unauthorized, I don't believe you have access to the DLC.

If you have not paid for the DLC do not leave any messages in this thread.

Shouldn't the manifest.xml files in each mod's folder be edited to remove the unauthorized text in the downloadable content menu? Anyway, the chests and statues in Gamlen's room didn't appear.

There is no problem. If your STEAM and EA acc not comunicating it means you are loged in wrong EA acc.

All you need to do is sign in to EA's servers inside the game. Annoying DRM, but it works fine in my experience. Playing it right now with all DLC and that's all I did.
