Piebald
What is Piebald?
  • Wikipedia says:
A piebald or pied animal is one that has a pattern of unpigmented spots on a pigmented background of hair, feathers, or scales.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Animals with piebaldism are missing a certain cell in areas of their body. This results in white patches across their skin.

Piebald Tyrannosaur

.

Piebald Wiehenevator

Albino
What is Albino?
  • Wikipedia says:
a person or animal having a congenital absence of pigment in the skin and hair (which are white) and the eyes (which are usually pink).
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Albino animals are unable to produce melanin. This results in a total loss of pigments.

(It is worthy to note that some skins have more pink than others.)

Albino Trope

Heavy Pink Example
.

Albino Velociraptor

Pink Accent Example
.

Albino Megaraptor

Minimal Pink Example
Melanistic
What is Melanistic?
  • Wikipedia says:
Melanism is the congenital excess of melanin in an organism resulting in dark pigment. Pseudomelanism, also called abundism, is another variant of pigmentation, identifiable by dark spots or enlarged stripes, which cover a large part of the body of the animal, making it appear melanistic.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Melanistic animals produce an excess of melanin. This results in black or nearly black pigmentation.

Melanistic Pteradon

.

Melanistic Paralophosaurus

Leucistic
What is Leucistic?
  • Wikipedia says:
Leucistic is a wide variety of conditions that result in the partial loss of pigmentation in an animal—causing white, pale, or patchy coloration of the skin, hair, feathers, scales, or cuticles, but not the eyes
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Leucistic animals have reduced pigmentation of the skin, but their eyes are colored normally.

Leucistic Wiehvenevator

.

Leucistic Archelon

.

Leucistic Acrocanthosaurus

.

BONUS Bioluminescent + Leucistic

Erythrism
What is Erythrism?
  • Wikipedia says:
a congenital condition of abnormal redness in an animal's fur, plumage, or skin.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Animals with erythrism have an abnormal red pigmentation of their skin or feathers.

Erythrism Orycto

.

Erythrism Acrocanthosaurus

Xanthochromism
What is Xanthochromism?
  • Wikipedia says:
(also called xanthochroism or xanthism), from the Greek Xanthos (ξανθός) "yellow" and chroma (χρώμα) "color", is an unusually yellow pigmentation in an animal. It is often associated with the lack of usual red pigmentation and its replacement with yellow. The cause is usually genetic but may also be related to the animal's diet.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Animals with xanthochromism have an unusual yellow pigmentation of their skin or feathers.

Xanthochromism Velo

.

Xanthochromism Wieh

.

Xanthochromism + Shimmer Icthy

Pepperism
What is Pepperism?
  • Wikipedia says:
Yet to find a wiki page or easy explanation for such a mutation.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Animals with pepperism are covered in black and white patches!

    Pepperism Elasmo

    .

    Pepperism Coah

    .
    Bonus Bioluminescent Pepperism Kronosaurus

Monochromatic
What is Monochromatic?
  • Wikipedia says:
A monochrome or monochromatic image, object, or palette is composed of one color.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
A monochromatic dinosaur! How did that happen?

(Randomizing the color, the dino in question will only consist of the chosen color.)

    .

    Monochromatic Orycto

    .

    Monochromatic Wiehenevator

    .

    Monochromatic Wiehenevator

Axanthism
What is Axanthism?
  • Wikipedia says:
a mutation that interferes with an animal's ability to produce yellow pigment. The mutation affects the amount of xanthophores and carotenoid vesicles, sometimes causing them to be completely absent.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Animals with axanthism cannot produce yellow pigment, resulting in blue coloration on their skin or feathers!

Axanth Mosasaur

.

Axanth Pachy

Bioluminescent
What is Bioluminescent?
  • Wikipedia says:
Bioluminescence is a chemical reaction that happens inside many organisms, from bacteria to squid, shrimp, fungus, fireflies, and even starfish. This is all thanks to a light-emitting molecule in their cells called luciferin, combined with a photo protein called luciferase.
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Bio animals shine in the dark! We don't know how or why this happens.

    Bioluminescent Megaraptor

    .

    Bioluminescent Paralophosaurus

Incest Morphs
What is Incest?
  • Wikipedia says:
(/ˈɪnsɛst/ IN-sest) is [reproduction] between family members or close relatives [...] It is strictly forbidden and considered immoral in most societies and can lead to an increased risk of genetic disorders in children.
I Googled for the wiki page and forgot about hubs...
  • Beasts of Bermuda's Take:
Incest animals suffer various genetic problems because their parents are related to each other.
(Deformities on models of dinos. Most differences lay in the head. You can choose for yourself with the examples below.)
    .
.
Dino Incest Morphs

  • Acrocanthosaurus:
A slight underbite and spines along the back are heavily stunted.

  • Megaraptor:
A drastic indent on the snout that tries to smooth over as they age

  • Pachycephalosaurus:
a smooshed face, spikes are smaller, the dome is more flat, and tail is bent.

  • Paralophosaurus:
twisted/bent horns. The baby incest model seems to be the same for both genders

  • Wiehenevator:
A severe underbite and jaw is jutting to one side.

  • Mosasaurus:
A progressive underbite and deformed bump on the head.

Hey I've not followed the game's updates for about a year and just wanted to ask if the mutations are only on said dinosaur that gets it during birth or if they'll carry over as an option on the character creation screen for said dinosaur or all
Thanks in advance to whoever may reply to my question! :meadowfrog:
