I've had The Long Dark since launch, and every time I decide to spend some time with the game, I'm left in awe. Despite the game's overly simplistic art style, it never ceases to show off how beautifully crafted it is. What truly captivates me is how it portrays loneliness in silence. The absence of constant chatter or music creates a hauntingly immersive atmosphere, emphasizing the solitude and vulnerability of the player in the harsh wilderness. It's a game that proves that beauty can be found not only in the grand and the colourful but also in the quiet and desolate.
