how to make open spaces like here?

Also the monsters seem to be able to shoot through some of the walls for some reason. this is especially noticeable in the hallways with the angled walls.

Sooo, where is the red key?

After the lock in room that you get into with the blue key, I went into the hallways and quickly died because the angled walls got me stuck when i was sliding and i was killed, it reset me in the lock in room and i had to fight all the monsters again, this time without any powerups which did not respawn with the monsters, i fought my way through the angled tunnels again and came back out to fight the mech. The force field over the blue key door went away but I cant find the red key anywhere. I think something got messed up with how the key is supposed to spawn when i died in the tunnels.

P.S.
You should really turn down the ambient light and add some custom point lighting. The whole level looks washed out with no shadows.
