Tips and Tricks for Early Game
By 12lambes
The early game of War in the East 2 is quite heavy with both learning basic mechanics, and overwhelming amounts of re-organization. Luckily there's some features of the game that can be used to make this early experience more enjoyable.

Support Levels

The main two options that I discuss are:
1. Set all support levels to 0 on the commander's report, HQ tab. And then set the Highest HQ to a 9.
2. Lock everything.

OPTION 1 (PUSH EVERYTHING UP TO HIGHEST HQ):
BENEFITS:
- Easy to do for turn 1
- Offers maximum flexibility
- Helps to minimize support equipment losses
WEAKNESSES
- Lots of manual work on turn 2
- Can create a turn 2 lack of fortification progress (if that matters to you)

OPTION 2 (LOCK ALL):
BENEFITS:
- VERY easy to do for turn 1
- Initial deployment of equipment is actually pretty sensible early on
WEAKNESSES
- Can result in higher losses of equipment
- Depending on re-assignments, the equipment might not make sense. The more re-assignments the farther from the ideal equipment deployment you will be.

Air Group Hell

AI air management is a seductive feature, but for those of you who have a pair, manual management is the way to go.

So you turn that devious little feature off and what do you find??
-90% of the air war is about bringing planes, pilots, groups to where they're needed.

Never Fear! The commander's report comes to the rescue once again.

This time the "Air" tab (obviously) allows you to analyze, mobilize, and generally manage all of your air forces without getting sucked into too much micromanagement.

Commanders

Commander stats pretty much boil down to maximizing the results of the thousands of rolls that occur during the game. One of the most vital things is to ensure that you NEVER exceed the command capacity of a commander. The debuff is VERY strong.
Theater Box Management

Using your theater boxes for hiding units, or refitting them, or gaining experience is a very important part of the game, especially in multiplayer. Don't be afraid to use and abuse them!
Support Units

How do you get the most out of some of your support units? Easy, make sure they get into the right places at the right time.

That said, I've since come to the conclusion that artillery is very expensive supply wise and not always worth it.
Logistics

Basic logistics are pretty straightforward, but these ten rules are one step above "Supply goes from low priority to high priority depots"
