Overview
No frills walkthrough to beat Hellfire Canyon on hard. Assumes you have fully upgraded Ace Missiles unit. Screenshot at the end of each turn.
Turn 1
Retry until you open with Scramble. Play Scramble. Scrambled a regular unit, then deployed the Ace, but I don't think the order was critical.

Played Launch Stabilizers
Turn 4
Played Rangefinders.
Turn 5
Played Kaiju Snares.
Turn 6
Turn 7
Played Supply Convoys. Notice how it helps the second group get into ambush formation faster. Attacked monster starting with Ace from the rear.
Turn 8
Which unit gets Heat-Beamed is random so you may not be able to match my play perfectly here. But the basic idea is always the same. Follow from behind with one unit, destroy any excess on Crises so you can redeploy them in the south.

Play Supply Convoys.
Turn 10

Played Kaiju Snares.
Turn 12
Turn 13
Played Supply Convoys. 2 Health left. I've won in the past by this turn so things could have gone a little better.

Victory, even with a few suboptimal outcomes from earlier.
