Minimalistic Guide on How to Handle the Data Mismatch Error which can occur with Baldur's Gate 3

No Mods were Installed
Go to

%LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Launcher\Cache

Search for

* alteredFiles.txt
* code for latest version of the game

Erase faulty files listed in that alteredFiles.txt, then

go to

Data subfolder within game's installation folder, locate PAK files with the patterns Patch#_HF#.pak which are coded for older versions of the game and delete them

then verify the game's files integrity.
Mods were Installed but now Removed
Go to

%LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles

Erase modsettings.lsx
BG3 Toolkit Data
If installed it can cause a false alarm which you can ignore.
Unless you are actively using the BG3 Toolkit Data set, it is recommended to have it removed from the DLC tab of the game.

If you are ignoring the launcher message, you can as well skip the launcher
