Black screen/textures issue

Some people are having display issues with this game and so did I.
After trying different fixes and tweaks nothing worked.
Then I remembered something I also did for Doom 3 to get better performance.

So, I found another solution.

Solution

A workaround for this problem is by using Mesa to convert OpenGL to Vulkan and it works great so far.
My guess is that the OpenGL drivers from AMD are missing some extensions (suprise) which causes the black screen/black textures.
Download this: https://github.com/pal1000/mesa-dist-win/releases/download/23.1.5/mesa3d-23.1.5-release-msvc.7z and unpack it somewhere in a folder.
DO NOT DELETE IT AFTER FINISHING.

First step is to open the perappdeploy.cmd file.
Copy the location of the game folder into the commandline and press ENTER.
Then write "play.exe" (without quotation marks) and press ENTER.
Press Y and ENTER when asked about OpenGL desktop driver.
Press N and ENTER when asked OpenGL ES support.
Press N and ENTER when asked about off-screen rendering.
Press N and ENTER when asked about graw library.
Press Y and ENTER when asked about More Mesa Deployment.

That's it! The game is working fine now!

PS
Don't forget to install the widescreen patch if you wish to play it in higher resolutions.

Im having troble finding the first file or if it is the right one, opening it. It's asking me to extract it.. I think Im doing this wrong SOS

Sorry, but I can't open perappdeploy.cmd. The window simply disappears after launch. Tell me what to do please

I have just done this today and it worked perfectly! The newest version of mesa-dist asked me if I wanted video acceleration instead of the graw library. Just said N and it still worked. Thank you!

Not sure. I think your location might be wrong. Make sure you copy the address of the install location which contains play.exe.
In my case this is "H:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Disney's Princess Enchanted Journey".

I'm trying to do this and every time i put in the location of the game it says Application executable name with or without extensions (optional, try leaving it blank first and only specify it if thins don't work otherwise). I go to type in play.exe and it says error: file not found and then it closes. What am i doing wrong?

I just redownloaded it to check and it contains the file. Make sure you have no anti-virus removing the file.
