How to calculate the final stat of an item, without spend money to upgrade it

% of upgrade
Playing Dde you'll find some equips with a simbol on the left of the icon:

Item with that simbol can be upgraded at the defender's forge that you'll find at the tavern, spending coins.

Every item can have a certain number of "lvs" or better, possible upgrades, shown in the middle of the item window:

(items are lv 1 as base, so if they're /20 means you'll have 19 upgrades)

The more a player lvup an item, the more it have to spend for the next upgrade.

But how to calculate what will be the final number of the stat(s) we want to upgrade, without the risk to waste all your money?

Here we go:

  • Hero/tower stats: +10% stat base
  • Physical WEAPON dmg +20% stat base
  • Elemental WEAPON dmg +40% stat base

So basically every stat referring to the hero, or his turret modificator can be upgraded by a 10% each time (of the base value), and so on for the weapon damage.

Following i'll paste a more expanded explanation i get from the player "Entropy" looking for a confirm (too well done to drop it :) )

Number of Upgrades:
It an item is 1/11, it actually only has 10 upgrades to do (1->2 ... 11->12)

Weapons:
-Physical Damage: Add 20% (rounded up to the nearest whole number) per upgrade

Example:
1,002 Physical and 8 upgrades
1,002 x 0.20 = 200.4 => 201 per upgrade
201 x 8 = 1,608 for all upgrades
1,002 + 1,608 = 2,610 initial plus upgraded damage

Final damage = 2,610

-Elemental Damage: Add 40% per upgrade (used to be 60%), rounded up as before

Example:
498 Lightning, 17 upgrades
498 x 0.4 = 199.2 => 200
17 x 200 = 3,400
498 + 3,400 = 3,898

Final Damage = 3,898

-Any Hero/Tower stat: +10% per upgrade, rounded up

Example:
191 Tower HP, 13 upgrades
199 x 0.10 = 19.1 => 20
20 x 13 = 230
199 + 230 = 429

Final Tower HP = 429

Armour:
-Any Hero/Tower stat: +10% per upgrade, rounded up
Same as weapons

-Resists (Physical, Fire, Lightning, Poison): +10% per upgrade, rounded up

Example:
760 Physical Resist, 3 upgrades
760 x 0.10 = 76 (no rounding necessary)
76 x 3 = 228
760 + 228 = 988

Final Resist: 988

@Xhell: it's true that elm dmg is upgraded a lot, BUT it isn't modified by hero power, and the elemental monster are immune to it, so....

Anyway, a better explanation can be found in the DPS guide :)

@Shirayuki: i'll try to implement pet's upgrades, as soon as i'll have the data :)

@Dackie: added as a new part of the guide

Ok after some testing with different items i realized that they are rounding up and down the item stats ingame. So i decided not to round in the chart because this way the endresult is more accurate.

There are some items where this won´t work. For example i have a sword here with a base dmg of 241 the first upgrade is 288 dmg wich is 19,5% so the 20% rule wont work for all stats/items. On the other hand if you calculate this special weapon with 240 base dmg and 20% gain you will end up with the 288 dmg i get in the game. I guess they are rounding up and down the weapon stats in game wich makes it harder to calculate the endresult.

So if you notice that the first upgrade ingame is not equal to the first upgrade in the chart adjust the numbers (one up or down).

Hey there I just made this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mymokiB4jKi1XvaSQ_VWieD08vboqW969dmcnQrhFG0/edit?usp=sharing

just put the base stats in and see what stats you will get.

Is it up to date from the last elemental nerf? If find that 40% is a little too much
