Easy Infinite Gold Steps
This guide exploits the mechanism whereby vendors reset their inventory every time your character levels up (this includes respecing at Withers - the moment you respec, e.g. get reset to level 1, all the vendors inventory resets!)

Steps to profit:
  • Go to Emerald Grove. The vendors here usually only have 500 gold, so chance of success isn't bad (Underdark vendors have 1300 gold, which means you need to roll like 21 to succeed).
  • Pickpocket the gold off of both vendors (do NOT attempt to pickpocket Auntie Ethel, if she's still there - her perception is too high. Just get the other two vendors: Dammon & Arron).
    • Arron is very easy to pickpocket, as there are no other NPC's nearby and he always has his back turned. After successful pickpocket, hide downhill behind him.
    • Dammon may look tricky to pickpocket bu there's a spot right next to his forge that is a tiny blind spot you can enter sneak mode at. After successful pickpocket, run into the prison area to hide - it doesn't matter if he sees you running away. NPC's don't realize they've been pickpocketed until about a full turn later.
  • Go to Camp & use Withers to respec one of your characters. Doesn't matter who - the vendor reset occurs on each respec/level up PER CHARACTER!
  • Go back to the vendors, their gold is replenished. Pickpocket them both, then hit Level Up (if you are higher than level 1). Make sure you level up ONLY ONCE each time!
  • Rinse and repeat until your hit your current max level, then go to Withers and respec again. Then you are ready to do it all over again.
  • If you are only level 1, then you have to hit Withers each time to reset the vendors - it's still profitable, just more annoying.

Notes:
  • This method not only work for infinite gold, but you can use it to get as much supplies you need as well (e.g. camping supplies) by keep resetting vendors and pickpocketing what you need.
  • If you ever need to unload junk to vendors bu they are out of gold, this is also an easy way to replenish them.

But wait there's more... recruit 3 hirelings. One thief, one con-man, one potion maker.

Thief: Rogue 1, the rest is bard (until level 11). Guidance pendant, gloves of thievery, and any other items to boost slight of hand and skill checks. Steal everything you can. If you can steal gold, go for it. If you cant, get the con-man to do it.

Conman: get expertise in persuasion. Respec to level one. Give any vendor a gift of $400 (as a barter). This will max their attitude toward you. Sell him every piece of loot you can for the highest price possible. This will lower the gold amount of late game vendors... steal back everything you sold them.

Walter White: Transmutation wizard 2, Bard of Lore 3, expertise in Medicine, cast enhance ability: wisdom. Send them ever alchemy ingredient you can steal or find. Every potion and elixir you make will be doubled.

Wash rinse repeat: You now run your very own thieves guild.

I wouldn't call this an exploit as this is just telling someone to make a Sleight of Hand build. On another note, respecing at Withers costs money. It's much more resource friendly to just partial rest as partial resting resets vendor's stock as well.

You are a gentle(man/woman) and a scholar! I never thought to do this. Thank you so much for sharing! It makes a subsequent play through less tedious.
