What do you need for starters....
Greetings fellow Witchers! In today's episode of my "weird guides" I decided to show you a strategy that should be useful for you after:

  • You already had few looses on the battlefield

  • You had enough time to cry in your pillow

  • You ran out of everything - and nothing - got stuck on restarting the 1st map and you play on, and on, and on, and on...

Ekhm hm.

So! If you experienced one (or more...) of the above, it means you're in the right place! Let me grab your hand (or sword, or shield, or golden coin *wink wink*) and lets go through this together!

The very first thing for you to do is managing to get into the level between 15-25 through gaining points, experience and restarting the battles. As you can see on the below screen:

These achievements are your "must have" before you gonna even start properly preparing yourself for RE strategy. With these particular levels, you will unlock more cards, you gonna unlock potions, also you will have a chances for making some useful choices if we talk about combining things together.

For example: If you take a look at next two screenshots, I have pointed out two cards, that might be useful for your battles, as a 1st choice to support your battles.

With Dandelion Poet you can gain extra card on your board without loosing the points or Dandelion Poet card itself - so that is a really tricky one there, but worth keeping eye on it. For the Draug however, it's good if you gonna have a line of average cards and not a completed number of these in a row (make sure to leave one free space for Draug, if you manage to get it in your battle route shuffling), because once you place Draug on the table, you get a row transition into new cards - which will provide for you some option of causing an extra damage to your opponent - so the more cards with transition - the more of each can cause the damage. This is why you wanna keep eye on these ones.

Regarding the below example from the gameplay itself:

This is what you don't want to end up with. As you can see, I have just few cards, of course more points than my opponent, but this statistic may change very drastically (as I learned it through playing during last two days in this game). With same proportions of the points, you should have in your deck at least 6-7 cards, to ensure your win. Sounds insane? Well, lets carry on with more specific strategy information, so you will get my point.
Combine what you got & Be like Hamster
Literally like in a title: You wanna enter your "inner hamster mode". Make sure that whenever you start your game route on the map:

You are aiming for the road paths with places of power, question mark, chest and simple non-big-boss fights (before the grande boss final fight). The reason for that is that you normally start your route with basic deck and what you collected so far - but that needs expansion. Also, you start usually from 50 power points, and you need a lot of more than that - in order of winning fights and reaching the final map battle (especially all newbies on the very first map with snow dragon).

At some point after looses, exp increase and dozens of fights, you will get the chance of mutagenerator as your card of choice, or card with the red emblem as your fight booster or anything else having some good traits. In any case - aim for mutagenerator as it will be providing you with number lottery before pulling out any cards and by a chance you might have more opportunities of drawing certain card with higher number (or lower) than what you normally got on certain card. Mutagenerator is increasing your final battle win and also boosting well your deck itself (not anything spell generated - but we will get into that).

I was doing my all routes with blood bottle as a choice, but you might wanna aim for flask, if boosting points is not your strong side. I therefore believe, that it is better to increase card choices, because of the fact that you win the battle only if you have more points than your opponent - and any draw match ends always according to the game as your loss instead of progressing. In any case - the more points you get for cards, the better protection you gain for your army units.

As visible above, you can see some cards. These are your options of drawing a "spell card" which is not placed on the boards but used immediately in action. These cards are costing you during the battle your power points - so that is why you need to make sure to be always charged before the battle - and as I would suggest you, have that minimum of 40 points or more - if you want to survive.

You can always set up 3 point cards for spell use and this is where the all fun with my strategy begins: You will need a card responsible for numbers, card responsible for transmutation and card responsible for typical attack function. The best combo of 3 for that purpose can be made from: Rat Swarm + Rapid Evolution + Thunder.

During the battle you want to stop before choosing any cards. Spells are your battle opening.

First you start with the rat card. The interesting part for it, is that your mage card (the one on the table, which can generate a spell) will copy cat rat spell immediately after you cast it, and will be capable of casting it again - which gives you two rows with rats in each. After you achieve that sort of picture - then you draw a card, accordingly to your personal taste and idea for strategy. Then you confirm your turn.

On your second turn you cast the Rapid Evolution spell from card - on any card with Rat, that has a value of 1 - because this will transform such a card into unknown one, with more likely higher value. That is why don't touch the cards with number like 4 or higher for your Rapid Evolution - as you might risk downgrading them by accident.

You repeat the above spell on each turn, as many times as you wish to do so, or as you need it. I would suggest you eliminating with it all rats with value 1 from the table, and then just place on the table high value card on each turn.

Your Thunder card = is an emergency shot, for attacking high value card from opponent deck. Also, this is a must have for final battle, paired up with a lot of power points for casting. Without that card - you might be failing in quite critical way.
Practice and Effort: How does it exactly looks like
So I keep mentioning things, points, combinations, and the way how to prepare for the battle or how to lead it. Let's see together based on the below example how this strategy looks in practical use:

As you may see on the clip that I had prepared for the purpose of this tutorial - I had some rat cards, I used them as described, kept playing with other cards in a way where I was limiting their usage and tried to slow down the whole "card draw" thing. But it helped me not only rapidly increase the points from the cards (as you can see on the right hand side, where the confirmation coin is) but also it decreased the chance of rapid point increase on my opponent side. Sometimes however, in some of the routes and battles - opponents can quickly reduce what we got on a table. This is why we start from more cards and weaker ones for the sake Rats-Evolution combo and succeed on the battlefield.

And that's it! If you want me to - I can upload here also a longer video on how I managed through some few basic battles and the final one - while sticking onto that strategy use in almost each one of them.

I hope that this guide will lead you to victory way faster than normally this could go & that it's gonna inspire you yourself to creating some primitive but effective strategies of other kind~! Check my other guides, stay tuned and let me know in the comment section how you like it!
