Welcome to my guide for the 100% completion of Deadlink! I've sorted the achievements into different categories instead of making a section for every individual one as it would make the sidebar too cluttered. I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: This guide is considered complete as of the current state of the game (Update 1.1, September 25th, 2023).

Achievements related to the game's tutorial below.

Select a new savefile from the Main Menu.
Answer the prompt for the tutorial with No.

Play the tutorial until you reach enemies, which fight back.
Let yourself die twice (you have unlimited lives). Enjoy reading the "game over" messages.

Achievements related to run/game progression and the codex below.

Unmissable, as you need to pass through all sectors and defeat their bosses to finish the run.

Previously bugged, now fixed (hopefully).
Finish 7 runs successfully and watch all cutscenes. (Credit to OhmyPariah in the comments)

Maximum codex saturation required. Fortunately, finding every implant isn't necessary.
Talk to everyone you meet, in and outside of runs. Enemies get an entry once you beat them.
Finally, equip every secondary and buy every elemental grenade from shops at least once.

All secondary weapons appear for all classes. You are not restricted to certain combat shells for specific secondaries. Complete list below.

Secondary Weapons (starter selection and combat arena rewards)
  • Bonegrinder MMMP (Soldier starter secondary)
├> Flame Assault Payload [fire damage variant]
├> EM Charge [electric damage variant]
└> Prox Mine [toxic damage variant]

  • ARC Cannon (Hunter starter secondary)
├> Particle Accelerator [fire damage variant]
    ├> Electrolaser [electric damage variant]
└> Matter Converter [toxic damage variant]

  • Tarball HRGL (Engineer starter secondary)
├> Fire Ant Rounds [fire damage variant]
├> Stormblight Cascade [electric damage variant]
└> Locust Swarm [toxic damage variant]

  • GNU+Cluster (Juggernaut starter secondary)
├> Blaze Mode [fire damage variant]
├> SMRT Coil [electric damage variant]
└> Goob Launcher [toxic damage variant]

Grenades (shop-exclusive)
  • IFF Tag Grenade
├> Incendiary Grenade [fire damage variant]
├> Electric Grenade [electric damage variant]
└> Corrosive Grenade [toxic damage variant]

Primary: Scrapper Shotgun
Ability A: Gripwire Rappel - marks and stuns an enemy and pulls the shell close to them
Ability B: Scrambler - marks and stuns enemies in a cone in front of the shell
Best built for: Raw damage, elemental damage, secondary damage

Primary: Tora Peacekeeper (Revolver)
Ability A: Translocator - instant teleport/switch, stuns and marks enemies, works mid-air
Ability B: IFF Decoy - marks enemies in range, distracts them and makes the Hunter invisible
Best built for: Critical damage and critical chance, secondary damage

Unlocked by reaching Phoenix Apex (sector 2 boss) twice. A door right before the bossroom will blow open, allowing download of the new shell for further runs.

Primary: Gauss Rifle (Assault rifle)
Ability A: Wormlink Breach - marks an enemy and spreads marked status on death
Ability B: Lawbringer Sentry - deployable autonomous turret, marking close enemies on use
Best built for: Raw damage, secondary damage, elemental damage

Unlocked by completing one of the optional rooms in Femto offices, sector 4. The room displays a folder icon and "..." as a reward.

Primary: Prime Eliminator (double-barrelled shotgun)
Ability A: Graviton Punch - charge punch, targeting and marking a single enemy
Ability B: Stray Redirector - invincibility mode with AoE burst damage, marks enemies
Best built for: Cooldown reduction, skillpower, survivability

Achievements related to buying permanent upgrades in the base of operations below.

You need to unlock all "matrix upgrade tiers" first. They only cost Turing tokens (TT).
After this, spend expansion provisions (XP) and TT on the individual trees.

Achievements requiring difficulty levels or run-limiters below.

Default difficulty. Get to know the different combat shells, experiment with implants and find out which playstyle suits you best.

Advanced difficulty. Enemies have more health, armor and deal more damage. Resources are rarer, shops are hit by inflation and the game requires you to act faster if you want to keep your shields up.

Insane difficulty. A feverdream and test of endurance. Enemies are even beefier, faster and drop even less shields. Rewards are greater but so are the costs. Go prepared, get lucky and play fast & well, you are going to need it.

Best achieved on VR-Orientation. Don't buy anything that costs credits. Ignore shops.
Some Neuroboosts cost credits. Doublecheck you aren't spending when selecting one.

Best achieved on VR-Orientation. Works well with the "Defibrillator" upgrade. Reach the Femto CEO and whittle her HP down to death's door (note that she has two phases).
Take damage until you are either under 5 HP or your defibrillator saved you from certain death. Use the few seconds of bullettime to finish Lizz off.

Achievements requiring undercutting time limits for individual difficulty levels below.

Either get lucky or go in with a plan. Reset runs for implants or legendary secondaries that you absolutely want/need.

My favorite build for this is Soldier combat shell + Cord Nanoconstructor + Razorwire Transfer. This allows for insane speeds and one-tapping foes. A good secondary helps with damage against heavies. This build also nukes bosses - just don't spend any credits.

Achievements tied to certain implants or their absence below:

Luck-based. You'll come across a legendary (golden) implant eventually. Slot it to unlock.

Once you meet "Chuck, the Maker" you can upgrade your implants to level 3 as combat rewards. After this, you need the permanent upgrade Peak Performance (fourth row, fourth column) to unlock level 4 upgrades. Now take any upgrade in your run to level 4.

Do the same thing for three individual implants for the second achievement. Chuck can upgrade implants in exchange for Turing tokens. Grab three implants (to limit RNG) and make sure they can be upgraded (not all of them can be). Chuck upgrades implants randomly at increasing cost.

Found in transition zones between arenas. An audio cue announces their presence. Check for digital sparkles near the cue. Shoot the sparkling object, then melee the drone holding the implant. Every secret implant found awards you a NEW ONE - you won't find any duplicates. After that, they join the implant reward loot table when finishing combat arenas.

One secret implant is tied to the Tora sector (sector 1) and will be detailed in the "Locations" section further below. Complete list below:

  • Non-Newtonian Armor
  • Nanoceramic Chamber Seal
  • Fortishield Patch
  • Target Vector Calculator
  • IFF Data Relay
  • Adrenergic Response Simulator
  • Adiabatic Powercycler
  • Ora Empathy Inhibitors
  • Aciator Stimulat
  • Power Leech
  • Electrolyte Harvester
  • Saccade Sensor Array
  • Smart Round Booster
  • Jackhammer Actutators
  • Blast Processor
  • Cyclic Rate Delimiter
  • Proximity Inductor

Unequip all implants once you reach the boss of the respective sector. Shell and weapon improvements are allowed. Having a good secondary weapon helps.

Achievements requiring specific ways of killing below.

Gripwire Power Leech (shell upgrade) is your best friend. Gripwire Rappel an enemy and melee them right before the hook disconnects. The damage on VR-Orientation should be enough to kill a light enemy with ease.

Another method is getting the Myoactuator Enhancer implant (next melee attack deals more damage on active). Slot it on Soldier's Gripwire Rappel. Hook a light enemy and melee them once you are close enough. (Credits for this idea goes to Elixir Vee.)

Kill the Torantula with equipped primary fire damage, a fire variant secondary or an incendiary grenade.

Hunter's Translocator + jump pads. Damage a heavy enemy which can be translocated (not all of them can be). Use a jump pad to throw yourself into the air. Use translocate to switch places with the heavy on low HP while in mid-air. Let gravity do the rest. (example below)

Easiest done in Tora (sector 1). Get lucky and find a survival event. On VR-Orientation, kite a bunch of enemies - drones work best for this. Group them up right before time runs out and throw a grenade at them while you are in the air. Use the ARC Cannon as an alternative. (Credits for this idea goes to Elixir Vee.)

An alternative is trying to kill 6 enemies in the air by getting enough skillpower to oneshot drones as the juggernaut. Ready your Stray Redirector, jump right before it finishes and if enough enemies are near you and on low enough HP, you might get lucky and get the achievement. (Thanks to fall2zero in the comments!)

Start a run and turn around. Throw a grenade at the shelf with the bottles in front of you. Absolute cakewalk. (Credits for this idea goes to Elixir Vee.)

On VR-Orientation, kite a group of drones in Tora (sector 1) so that they are close to each other. Throw a grenade and it should kill all of them at once.

Works well with the defibrillator upgrade. Deal self-damage with your secondary until your defibrillator kicks in. Find one of the objects below, shoot at it to set it off and stand in its explosion radius. Repeat once for every color.

Most secondary weapons deal self-damage (if not otherwise stated). Grab the Soldier combat shell and shoot the Bonegrinder Rocket Launcher at your feet until you die.

Requires specific implants that allow your weapons (or passive effects) to ignite/corrode/shock enemies. You can use elemental grenades, too. Make sure you're proccing all status effects on the same enemy before you kill him.

Enter the very first arena as Juggernaut and only use your abilities to kill enemies. Alternatively, use any shell and melee people to death.

Damage the boss of the second sector until he's almost dead. Serve him your finest knuckle sandwich as dessert and earn this achievement.

Achievements tied to specific weapons below.

Close kills with Soldier's Gripwire Rappel don't seem to count (at least for me). Instead, get very close to light enemies and kill them with the shotgun. Best done on VR-Orientation.

Misleading. Kills with rocket explosions don't count. Kill robotic enemies (blue healthbar) with the zappers left behind after the explosion (see picture below). They deal minimal damage, so you best farm this achievement on VR-Orientation in a C-Ball destruction event arena with infinitely spawning enemies (don't free the last C-Ball).

Grab the Matter Converter secondary (toxic secondary variant) and break all armor within a single burst. Play on Deep Dive difficulty for more spawns with armor.

Just bounce shots off of walls and try to kill 50 enemies this way. The grenades explode after some time if they missed completely. Enemies killed by this blast seem to count as well.

Grab the Tarball HRGL and aim in the vicinity of enemies so that the grenade still deals splash damage. Use the detonator for the right timing and maximum damage.

Similar to "Dissociative violence". Take the Locust Swarm (toxic secondary variant) and create puddles close to enemies. Use the detonator to explode the mass once enemies are near its blast radius. Sticking the blobs onto enemies and killing them doesn't count.

Grab the ARC Cannon, kite your enemies and aim well. The shots penetrate by default so you shouldn't have much trouble getting this.

Requires permanent upgrades shown below. Rare (and higher) secondary weapons only appear after upgrading. Fire Ant Rounds (rare or higher) ignite enemies on recall of the rods. Kite enemies down in a line towards you - shoot, then recall.

Self-explanatory. Play as Hunter, boost your damage and aim well.

Clear a combat arena with a secondary weapon refill drop (shown below). Shoot until the laser is almost empty, walk over the ammo refill, keep shooting with new ammo. Certain implants expand your ammo pool but they might increase fire rate on their active effect.

Line up three enemies and kill them with the same shot. Somewhat luck-based but achieved easily with damage implants and/or secondary upgrades for the Accelerator on VR-Orientation.

After every combat arena, the distance to your exit is shown in meters. Get a feel for the 20 meter distance and try to kill 200 enemies at least this distance away, using only the Bonegrinder Rocket Launcher.

Self-explanatory. Prox Mine carried me to my first Deep Dive win.

Grab the Stormblight Cascade (electric secondary variant). Get to Watts-Rucker Labs on Deep Dive. Find an arena with two flying motherships. Shoot both motherships once, wait for them to start spawning in their seekermines and hit the detonator. Each mine count as a single enemy. (Improved by Random in the comments, thanks!)

Finally, achievements tied to specific locations in your run below.

You need to complete at least one successful run before you are able to enter the Sex Club. Thank you to OhmyPariah in the comments for testing this!

Only found in the first sector - Tora. Keep on the lookout for a "Sex Club" neon sign in transition zones between combat arenas (pictures below). If the sign is off, the club is closed and you cannot enter. Get lucky and find a lit sign and you can melee the door to enter. This will also net you one of the hidden implants necessary for the "Open Source" achievement.

Can only be found in Interport, sector 3. Right before the boss fight against Trinary Iskra, there's a gap in the bridge you need to cross. Throw yourself off the bridge into the chasm.
Doing this will void your run. DUH.

Can only be found in sector 4, Femto offices. On your way to the boss, an optional room should look like a big entrance hall (might be luck-based). There are eight pillars in the middle of the hall. Attached to said pillars are multiple busts. Shoot all eight to unlock.

Find an arena or transition zone jump pad (example below) that propels your shell up at a close-to-90° angle. Navigate back above the jump pad mid-air and fall onto it again, propelling you up once more. Do this for 15 seconds. (Credits for this idea goes to Elixir Vee.)

Easiest on VR-Orientation. Clear the room of any survival event (survive for 45 seconds objective) of all enemies before the timer hits zero. Go for a high damage build and try to get the event in the first sector (Tora) for best cheesing potential. You should get this naturally as you progress through your game.

Not a lot to say here. Pick the shell you're most comfortable with and keep at it. Felt similar to VR-Orientation in terms of difficulty. The scaling in endless mode is skewed towards the player - any money conversion implants scale very well into the later waves. Reaching wave 100 takes approximately an hour.
Thank you for reading this guide! I hope I could help you in making your journey to 100% completion easier and enjoyable. I will make sure to follow any game developments and update this guide if need be. That's it! Now where's that transport button...

Based on my observation for shish kebab ( I had the 1 star fire ant rounds) the projectile needs to hit an enemy and then be recalled in order for it to ignite the enemy.
PAW 2 Mar @ 3:49pm
I've found shish kebab pretty annoying to do - recall on rare fire ants didn't ignite enemies at all (maybe 1 in 100... really bad at least in endless mode).

But I've found a solution! Try to get "Thermite Cartdrige Coating" which has passive "both weapons have 15% chance to ignite". I've got it in endless, spam shots/recall = boom, achievement done in few seconds :)
PAW 2 Mar @ 3:06pm
@Steve1989MREInfo Just done Hisashi OSHA... BUT! You have to do it in normal runs. It doesn't work in extant existence mode - tried to do it there first, died 2 times for each barrel and didn't get the achievement but worked just fine when I've done it in normal simulations :)
Toxic Industrials 29 Jan @ 3:15am
hi thanks so much for the guide but i have one problem.. i dont get the achievement for getting killed by all 3 barrels... i think its the green one because everytime it should kill me it leaves me with 1 hp and then i die to the toxic stuff on the ground but not the barrel itself it seems like :(
vF Ghostyy 22 Aug, 2024 @ 1:22pm
Am I missing something, is 20mins really enough?
I'm getting to Stage 3, Area 2 or 3 with 0 time left.

How do I move/kill any faster lol
Crux 11 Oct, 2023 @ 5:31am
'Imagine my shock' can be done faster in the endless mode, second or third wave consists only of flying bots, gather them close to eachother and shot a few times before triggering the zip.
Crux 11 Oct, 2023 @ 2:56am
You can do the Speedrunner in more fun ways, get the cord nanoconstructor on soldier, hook --> kill --> hook next enemy, repeat while staying airborn, can do the same with hunter while translocationg from cball to cball, but you need more stuff for that to work, either way, great guide!
fall2zero 29 Aug, 2023 @ 2:41pm
if you need a specific implant for my method i explained, use the 1984 literalizer, it gives a lot of ability damage if you refrain from using your grenades

@fall2zero

Excellent suggestion! I will take it, add it to the appropriate section and credit you. Thanks!

my previous comment is relevant to "air superiority" for context
