Rangemaster: Reloaded

Wuzzup! So we've all seen L4D1 ports by other talented people yeah yeah.

BUT, this is MY port, there are many like it but this one is mine.

Using IK and constraints I automatically converted the L4D1 animations to the L4D2 rig so helpers are not needed. Oh and I made 'em grip it real nice and snug.

Not much else to say really, It's quite literally a 1/1 port of the L4D1 Rangemaster. Nothing more, Nothing less.

There has been a lot of mods that have set out to do the same thing in the past, but none have ever really gone further than just being a 1/1 port. Now yes my version also a 1/1 port but the major selling is point is now they hold the damn pump properly. Not sure why other ports didn't address this weird quirk, yeah that's how it looks in L4D1 but that's just because the animations were created with chonky beta models in mind.

So after awakening from a 20 hour sleep I set out to correct this injustice and harnessed the might of 3DSMax to do it pretty much automatically. All animations were converted to the L4D2 arm rig in batch with only minor fixup where needed. Any other changes were done to work around issues only present in L4D2 and everything else was left as is.

All in all this only took about 3 hours of solid work to get it ready and a few more to tweak the qc to my liking. Not wanting to be like the rest of the crowd I created a new alternative skin that's based off the (say it with me) Beta worldmodel texture. No real beta assets were used so don't let me catch this in one of you young'uns beta mod pack because I'll be real disappointed in you.

Rambling aside, this was an experiment and not a guarantee I'll ever do any more. If you want more mods like this check out adasdasd's or Vanyarin's mods to fill the gap.
