This guide is a simple how to for the people who bought Rodina from the official website «Elliptic Games» and want to keep their progression while getting Rodina on Steam.

If you paid at least 15$, you have acces to your own Rodina steam key in your dashboard on Elliptic Games website.

First you need to login to your dashboard on the official website[elliptic-games.com].











You'll get this page, click the button in the steam key section and copy your key.








Now go on Steam, click «games» then click on «Activate a product on Steam...», click next, accept the terms and copy your key, then click next and it should be fine.




You now have Rodina on Steam.

Now you need to go in the directory of the Rodina you installed with the website binaries.
(If you have a shortcut on desktop, right click and «open file location».)
By default it's something like C:\Programs Files\Rodina or even C:\Rodina (mine was D:\Rodina).

Then you need to copy/cut the «UserData» directory.

Note: screenshots are located in the main folder (same folder as the binary) and won't come with the UserData folder.
The UserData folder contains your main saves, autosaves, quicksaves, profiles and the images from the anomalies in feed riddle.



Once the UserData directory cut/copied, go on Steam then right click on Rodina (in your library), then click on «Properties», «Local Files», «Browse local files...» and then just paste.
Default folder should be something like
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Rodina
(mine is D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rodina).




I don't clearly know which versions are compatible, but worked fine from 1.1.0.

Also, reverse operation is possible, you want Rodina off Steam ? Assuming you have a productkey (a key for Rodina which is different from your steam Rodina key), just grab the binaries from Elliptic Games website, install and cut the UserData diretory from Steam and paste it in your fresh installed Rodina. (Note that last version on official website is still 1.1.0 at the moment.)

If you want to take screenshots without any HUD while your in your ship, go in the «Scripts» folder, then «Gameplay», open «EGMenuHUD.lua» and uncomment the line 127.

In other words
--self.Tile:SetAlpha(0)
becomes
self.Tile:SetAlpha(0)
