  • Click "Account Details"
  • Click "Manage Subscriptions"
  • Click "Edit" to the right of your Fallout1st subscription
  • Here you will select to cancel your subscription, then click save.
Notes
Steam Users Only
This method only works for users who purchased the Fallout1st subscription, from the Steam store. If you purchased through Bethesda's website, or any other methods, the process may vary.

Disable Auto-Renewal of Subcription
When you disable auto-renewal of your Fallout1st (Fallout 76) subscription, you will still have the subscription until it would expire.

For example, if you buy it on January 1st (and it expires on January 31st), and you cancel it on January 10th, your subscription will still be active, and you will continue to get all the benefits of the Fallout1st subscription, up until January 31st. Then it will not renew past that.

Disabling auto-renewal is the same process as cancelling your subscription.

Props to mnemonic for the step-by-step guide, but encouraging people to cancel Fallout 1st is wild to me. It’s not just a subscription—it’s the difference between loving the game and endlessly fighting with limitations because you refuse to spend a few bucks every month. Plus, subscribing to Fallout 1st does more than improve your experience—it shows the devs that people are passionate about the game. It encourages them to keep working on updates, refining the experience, and listening to community feedback. Canceling it sends the opposite message. Let’s be real: canceling Fallout 1st is basically nerfing your own experience and discouraging the devs from making the game even better. Why would you ever do that?

Wait, I’m really confused—why on Earth would anyone want to cancel Fallout 1st? Have you actually looked at the features it offers? Private Worlds mean you’re not dealing with randoms ruining your builds or stealing resources. Unlimited storage for crafting components with the Scrapbox? That’s basically a necessity unless you enjoy wasting hours micromanaging your inventory. And let’s not forget the monthly Atom stipend, exclusive cosmetics, and survival tent fast travel—because who wants to be stuck running halfway across the map for no reason?

Honestly, unless you’ve completely given up on Fallout 76, canceling Fallout 1st feels like a rookie mistake. Even if you’ve unlocked everything you wanted, those features don’t stop being useful. Why give up convenience and enjoyment just to save a few bucks? It’s like deciding you’d rather trek through the Wasteland barefoot than wear Power Armor.

Dumb that the official page has a broken API that would redirect and not tell me; that other people would link to the broken redirecting page. Your guide showed me how to actually do it. Thank you

>do you receive the money back or not?
No. You don't lose money though. Your subscription continues, until it is supposed to renew.

Read this as stated in the guide:

When you disable auto-renewal of your Fallout1st (Fallout 76) subscription, you will still have the subscription until it would expire.

For example, if you buy it on January 1st (and it expires on January 31st), and you cancel it on January 10th, your subscription will still be active, and you will continue to get all the benefits of the Fallout1st subscription, up until January 31st. Then it will not renew past that.
