Mission Briefing
A few years back, Youtube user @AmanojakuPenguin made a handful of guides for the game, going over techniques ranging from beginner to high-level in difficulty. There are four videos, each going over a different aspect of the gameplay.

General tips for getting started:

Notable Players
There's a few notable players but sadly none appear to be actively playing the game right now. Fortunately they've left behind some great videos.

Sekirala
Easily the best Assault Spy player to have ever walked the earth, he was pulling ♥♥♥♥ in 2019 nobody can even replicate to this day. Has sadly been MIA from the internet for about 3 years though.

TalesofJade
Mainly focused on GGXX these days but has some very good Assault Spy content. Lots involving boss fights in addition to combo videos.

AmanojakuPenguin
This dude keeps changing his name so it's probably something different by now, also been inactive for a year but a huge fraction of his channel is devoted to Assault Spy, including the Mission Briefing videos. There's more videos focused on boss fights than dedicated combo videos than the prior two but there's gems in both departments.

These three and a few other players with no other presence I could find relating to AS got together to make a collaborative video a year after the game came out; it's a bit primitive as many players involved had yet to make use of a lot of advanced techniques but it also has some rare morsels of the long-MIA Sekirala which makes it worth a watch all on its own.

Thanks for reading.
I hope this guide has been helpful. I never got quite as good as the aforementioned players but do feel free to ask questions if you have any and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

Thank you! Of course that would be the one thing I didn't think to try, lol.

That's a weird move to describe.
Assuming you're using an Xbox controller, do the Dash Y attack, then press RB while that attack's happening, then keep mashing either Y or RB to keep it going. It used to just be the normal Dash Y attack.

In some of AmanojakuPenguin's videos I've seen them do a Million Stab-esque move with Asaru's umbrella. Would you happen to know the input for that specific move? It's the only move that I can't find in Asaru's move list and it's really bugging me.
