At the beginning, all enemy unit factories are turned off. After a while they will start to turn on. Some bases are protected by shield projectors and to successfully destroy the cores you will need to find their power source first.

I have played this map many times and it is very interesting!
The enemy attack pacing, terrain design, etc. are all well-designed.
The large payload mass driver is very useful on this map to transport arkycite and thorium.
