Introduction
Welcome, dear adventurer, to this most humble of guides!

Now before we begin, NAY, before we set off on our journey of learning and understanding, let us prepare our minds and souls thusly.

In this guide you will find a handful of tips and tricks that yours truly has stumbled upon, hit upon, smashed upon or otherwise just came upon and thought it most suiting to share with you, our beloved adventurer.

Should there be other like-minded adventurers who wish to contribute to this guide please feel free to do so! Now without further ado let us begin!

Please note that this guide is still a work in progress, and will expand gradually as I come about new and exciting tips and tricks that I feel would be quite beneficial to others!
Starting Tips
Here a couple of brief tips that could possibly prove quite useful in your journeys.
  • Evade Incoming Melee Attacks!
    • While standing still and taking hits may seem cool, it most probably won't allow you to stick around long enough to enjoy the smell of fresh meat as your sword cleaves your adversary a new one! When possible as soon as you see your enemy swinging his or her broom/bottle//buttocks hit the [Q] (default) key to evade the brutality in which time you can feel free to up the ante and dish out a five course finger licking gluteus maximus kicking!

  • Kite Around Maliel Shrines/Magic Sources!
    • In the beginning of your adventure things will be as tough as a toadstool on a reaper, and as such you will have to have all your wits about you to survive the beginning few crucial levels. Your first course of action should be to draw a handful of whatever you happen to find first. If it is bigger than you I suggest you run in the complete opposite direction and not look back. Once you've found a group of unsuspecting victims, lure them (by having them think they're chasing a tasty morsel) to a Shrine of Maliel or a Magic Source where you can then infinitely heal yourself (Maliel Shrine) or cast the beginning heal spell on yourself infinitely (Magic Source) and watch the levels shoot up!

  • Spells Stack!
    • Everything is better in healthy quantity and the same goes for spells! Why have a simple fireball when you could stack it up to 10 times?! Why spray when you could shoot streams all at once?! Simply drag any multiples of spell cards that you have in your spellbook [M] (default) and plop them onto the spell you're trying to stack. In doing so you will increase the spell damage/duration/effectiveness etc. adversely the mana cost as well. You can move multiple stacks of spell cards by holding down the [Ctrl] key.

  • Hotkeys Can Be Configured! But Not F7!
    • In the heat of battle and/or pillow fights you want to have easy access to your potions/spells/traps and what better way to do that than your very own hotkey bars?! Unfortunately you will be first shown the default hotkey bar which is [F7] and as many things in Antaloor it will be locked, locked for editing that is. In order for you to have a hotkey bar to call your own you need to switch from the default locked [F7] hotkey bar to any of the other hotkey bars which are [F8], [F9] and [F10]. You can also cycle through the hotkey bars by pressing the middle mouse button and in doing so you will come upon a mysterious blank hotkey bar that has no key designation but that can be used as well!

  • Complete Milestones Early On!
    • You get rewarded a single skill point for every milestone that you achieve, such as killing enemies, pickpocketing NPC's, lockpicking doors and finding teleport locations. Best done as early as possible to capitalize on the easy to obtain skillpoints to give your character a boost into the world of Antaloor. Press the [F5] key and scroll down to the Combat Stats section to see your progress with the milestones.

  • Careful Of Horse Hoarding!
    • If you're like me then you would love nothing better than to have a faithful companion parked outside every major city/town/teleport, right?! Who wouldn't?! The problem I found however (this may be a very rare case as I am unable to verify) is that when you have quite a large amount of horses that you've taken control over (i.e. they will come when you whistle to them with the [H] key) the game eventually doesn't let you ride any more horses, neither old nor new ones and even console spawned ones. So just a friendly word of advice, stick to a maximum of 3 horses and position them as needed, it won't kill you but having to walk to the outer regions of Antaloor to activate teleports can be quite tedious! I just found out, after weeks of walking to and from places (besides teleports) that the reason I couldn't ride horses was because I respecced my skills of which one is Horse Riding which is needed to, well, ride horses!! So if you ever respec, remember this one!
Calming NPC's
Sooner or later in your adventure you undoubtedly will end up maddening quite a few citizens of Antaloor. Whether it was a drunken dwarven who looked you the wrong way or a confused necromancer who simply woke up on the wrong side of the grave these can quickly lead to hilarious if not fatal encounters, and if the latter you'll end up wishing there was a “yield" option.

Luckily for you there is, somewhat... Imagine yourself in a room with a very angry NPC, you've stolen a few odd trinkets which they'll probably never use seeing how they spend 70% of their time sleeping on and off their bed, and he or she now has you cornered and if you fight back you'll probably be branded a murderer which will lead into something far worse... Your first option is to run, but what of your return? What if you can't get away?

Fear not, for today I present to you the wonderful world of props and how their use can make everybody docile, even those tiny little men who have a cracker up all kinds of crevices.

That's right! You saw it with your own eyes, and you saw it here first! The shear act of witnessing your display of finesse and the ability to scale objects is enough to leave your new adversaries struck in awe as they put away their weapon and return to their menial life.

So the next time you find yourself caught out from stealing or accidentally hitting that blabber-mouth on the head, find your nearest couch/chair/bed/imp and hop on! If this does not work, try removing all items of clothing you're wearing, skipping merrily to the tune of "dancing queen" and then trying again after a couple of swigs.

ALTERNATIVE UPDATE:
In my quest to evade being hunted for the loveable purse cuddler that I am, I stumbled upon yet another "method" that will calm the soothing beast inside. I tested what I'm about to reveal to you on an ENTIRE army regiment upon finding out that their lockers were NOT to be trifled with despite the various deeds I had completed for them...

In order for you to use this method you will need to have learnt the Stone Wall spell which you can unlock at Earth Magic level 6 once the skill has been acquired of course.

Casting stone wall on groups of irritated and erratic NPC's will cause them to stop and reflect on their actions upon the chosen one while bashing floating rocks with whatever it is they bash with best. Once that is done they will return to their daily chores without so much as offering you a second glance!

Warning: I take no responsibility for any of your actions due to the consumption of this trick. This may or may not work in the world of Earth as test subjects have not been heard from again.
Stealing Is Good!
Forget the stories you've once perchance overheard at campfires of people having their fingers chopped off because they couldn't keep their wandering hands at bay! In the world of Antaloor every bulging pocket and every busty chest is an opportunity just waiting to happen!

Unlike our friends in other worlds there is no repercusions to face when stealing, provided you don't get caught that is.
Smart Trading
In the world of Antaloor you will find many a trader who would seek to rob you of your bounty, lest you know the secret of their sly operations...

Truth be told one can easily ascertain who would pay you the highest amount of gold for your items by using a simple yet effective test... It involves... POTIONS!

Now you may be asking, do we poison them? Do we hit them upside the head with the bottle? No, dear adventurer, nothing of the sort! We will be using them to determine who is a filthy cheating scoundrel and who the honest caring trader is.

When trading with any merchant, check the price that they are willing to pay for your mana potions. The highest price you will get for the Small/Medium/Large qualities should be:

You should be offered 4 gold, 9 gold and 19 gold for your Small Mana Potion, Medium Mana Potion and Large Mana Potion respectively. If you're offered any less you can tell that trader to shove his gold where it can shine somewhere else!

For those of you who don't believe in the power of mana, you should be offered 27 gold for a Small Health Potion, 54 gold for a Medium Health Potion and 108 gold for a Large Health Potion.

Why bother you might ask? Have a look at this:

If you're like me and you already have 200k gold a quarter way through the game due to crazy looting/stealing etc. it may not be a big deal, but when you absolutely want and NEED the best deal (trust me things and skills get crazy expensive later on) or if you're just starting out and every piece of gold counts then it is paramount you sell to the right trader.

In the example above my pair of trousers would fetch 2376 LESS gold by selling it to a stingy trader! So look before you trade, as every gold coin wasted ensures a goblin somewhere starves an eternity...

Hey Totem72! Thanks for taking the time to check out my guide! :) My reply however is a bit untimely due to a few IRL things I have been busy with, and I have no doubt you have long since found your answer, but for the sake of closure I have decided to respond in any event.

[F7] is your default hotkey bar, you can't actually customize it very much, it auto changes based on what you have in your inventory and what it thinks is appropriate for you to use. Switch to any of the other customizable hotkeys from [F8], [F9] or [F10]. Then you need only mouse over an item and choose a number from 1 to 0 to assign the item to or drag and drop items into the slots. Through my run I haven't found a way to actually remove items from a hotkey slot, other than replace them with something else.

As for using a potion from your inventory, I believe it was as simple as double-clicking the potion, though much easier to assign potions to your 9/0 keys.

I don't remember how to put things in my hot keys or use a potion directly out of my inventory, can you help me?

3) As for the teleport activator (if you haven't figured it out already), there is a quest you have to do for one of the mages outside Komorin (Ferid Redismos). He will give you a stone that activates teleport pads that you find out in the field. You will also get given a teleport stone you can place down at any place, and teleport to it from teleport pads or other teleport stones.

If there is anything else that you require help with, please don't hesitate to ask! :rshout: Have fun in the world of Antaloor!

Hey Tynon_1221,

You're very much welcome! I will try answer your questions as best I can!

1) The combat is pretty much hit and miss, literally! There is a ton of approaches you can take and it all really depends on your playstyle. One of my favourites is that you can dodge back when enemies are about to hit (Q) which means you can kite really strong mobs early on, so long as they aren't ranged, though you can dodge those at the right time as well. The shield use is pretty much calculated as damage resistance/reduction, so other than that it is just for aesthetics!

2) As for storage, believe it or not any container is pretty much safe to store your items in, though I would recommend a house in a city where there are multiple traders nearby, easy access to put a teleport stone down and both deposit items into chests/cupboards and run out to sell to a vendor. See the "Stealing Is Good!" part of the image in Qudinar which I recommend as a nice base of operations.

And HOW DO I USE THE TELEPORT ACTIVATOR?!?!?! Expletive :vs: Expletive, I've no clue (I got the horse immediately after posting, but would still like to know if such storage outside of the horse exists).

Very appreciative of your guide; my buddy and I both got Two Worlds a couple days ago - in dire need of co-op RPG's that aren't MMO's and don't have top-down cameras. As he has yet to play it, I've banked an hour or so just trying to get a feel for the game.
The two pressing matters I need assistance with:

Punishing combat to say the least - Does your Hero use his shield on his own? Or is there some command that I'm unaware of - is the shield equipable in the hotkeys or something?

I quickly filled up my inventory; I have just made it into town after clearing the first temple, so of course, no horse. --- Is there a static, safe place to store equipment other than a horse? I looted a killer Mace that requires something like 17 Strength, weight of 7-ish. Refuse to carry that around with me... refuse to get rid of it.

Again, much appreciated

Be sure to check out the "Smart Trading" section so you're fully making use of your profits. I tend to place down a teleport stone near a vendor I know gives me the best possible price, then do the same in a building I'm going to loot so I can quickly teleport and sell my goods instead of running up and down...

Now regarding pickpocketing, there is quite an issue with the hitbox when you use the skill. You will end up having to mash the button you've assigned it to, and I thoroughly recommend you approach your targets DIRECTLY from behind, a slight offset does nothing... If they're moving try to get in their way so as they pass you, you spam the pickpocket button and you should have a fist full of bounty!

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with!
