didn't know how it worked but here is what I was doing in case it's helpful. I have some hatches. I was just making the values for hunger affection the same every time, and had only done discipline when required by the light.

Food Happy Disc
Yellow Puffer 1 1 low
Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin 1 4 low
