Main tier list(s)
Introduction

As with all thing competitive there is a wide range of highly effective units, weapons and strats and pit people is no exception to this. Certain Weapons and unit combos are considered to be more viable than others. Below is the main Competitive Tier list it displays all units and the majority of viable weapons used in PvP to some level of success.

Main Competitive Tier list:
(Where there are default weapon that signifies the weapon type while specific weapons sprites like TNT sword are separate as they perform significant better than that weapon types allocation).

The majority of units in the game are self explanatory with what they do and what works best for them as they don't have any editable weaponry or armaments. Units such as Pixies, Gorgons, Spidaurs, hair trolls and zombies can have either different weapons or armaments respectively, however, more often than not it is best to equip them with the best possible equipment as listed in the list below.

Humans and Cyclopes on the other hand have more options when it comes to unit choices making them some of the most flexible units to have in a team. The following tier list displays the viability of the different weapon and armour types for the units that have just been covered.

Equipment Tier list

The key thing to remember when setting up a unit for PvP purposes is to make sure they aren't over encumbered and that the key stats you are looking at maximising are focused.

Hero's
Before we get into the breakdown of the different offensive and defensive options for your units it is important to cover heroing a unit for your competitive team. The main 2 units that are considered to be the best to hero for PvP are Mushrooms and Cupcakes due to the stat increases they both receive. Not all teams always have the capacity for a shroom or cake tho and with that the below tier list should help you decide which unit is best for you to hero if you are lacking a shroom or cake on your team.

Mortars
Mortars make for great high aoe damage while harpoons make for solid long distance poke. additionally the eye dropper allows to influence fights with its blinding effect. Mortars are always solid to run in the case that unicorns are banned (in a tournament setting) or for more predictable shot placement but at the sacrifice of total damage.
Mortar tier list
Shields & Side Arms
On humans and cyclopses the option for a side arm are shields, throwable or net. Throwables aren't often used in pvp same as net as they're benefits are out weighed by the benefits granted by the various different shields.
The benefits of shields depends on the team compositing being utilised. Shield spam comps often rely on heavy shields for their higher block chance. Medium shields can be useful on a unit such as a cyclops to give it some defence while not encumbering it. Finally small shields are often used to maximise to damage of your offensive weapon.

Heavy Mallets
Heavy Mallets can only be equipped by a cyclopes now the majority of them offer high damage ,however, there are 2 options for heavy Mallets that stand out from the rest. These 2 options are Thousand Shards & The Stormstick these are also often referred to as cancer sticks (C sticks).

In the case that C sticks are banned and you really wanna use a heavy mallet cyclops on your team then the tier list below should help you decide.
Heavy Mallet tier list
Mallets
Mallets can be strong against opponents with medium and heavy helmets (tho not common in PvP) certain mallets also grant some ok effects or weapon stat benefits see list below for viability.

Medium Swords
Medium swords are a strong staple for humans as it allows them to run heavy shields or heavy helmets without having to sacrifice too much damage. Like most of the weapons discussed so far medium swords have better variants than others hence the tier list.
Medium Sword tier list
Heavy Swords
Heavy swords work best on either cyclopses or gorgons as it allows for big damage from a main tank unit. Humans can utilise heavy swords, however, its often better to slot a medium sword in its place to allow for the uses of heavy shields and higher defence.
Heavy Sword tier list
Light Swords
Light swords aren't very common in PvP unless you are a certain Lemon person or you were to run a max dodge or max defence team in which the best bet is to run light swords. There as some beneficial effects on some light swords such as the jerk stick but again these effects are out shone by other units or items in the game.
Light sword tier list
Guns & Axes
Some teams can benefit from having a form of short ranged human unit, be that gun or axes/ duel throw weapons, some guns especially have different ranges that they an hit from unlike bows or singular thrown weapons that have a set distance.
Guns and Axes
Bows
Bows aren't commonly used in PvP or on the competitive scene due to them being out shone by other units or different weapon options such as mortars and in some circumstances duel throwables also do better. Never the less bows can be an option for PvP and hence this tier list exists.
Bow tier list
Helmets
The value of helmets depends on team compositing. The majority of the time it is best to run no helmet (weightless) to maximise damage dealt. Unless you're team is going for defensive capability in which the larger the helmet the better the defence. There are some helmets that offer element specific defences which can be helpful to know as they also come with downsides as well.

Extra info nuggets
Many of the above lists are solid when it comes to the viability of items (and units) in the PvP setting. Certain changes do occur if the PvP setting is a 2v2 rather than a 1v1. The below tier list shows what changes in terms of working with and fighting against an additional player however this doesn't effect the individual tier lists show cased earlier in this guide.

spam teams - usually 4-6 slots of the same unit, and something to hero. ex) harpoon spam, 5 harpoons and a hero mushroom.

general mix - a bunch of different units thrown together, ex) abominations heavy fire shield human team used in the 3 teams tournament, and king's old wraith, vamp, unicorn, pixie, bot, and hero shroom team.
