DMC3 Unlock Everything Guide (Hex Editing)

This guide will show an alternate methodon how to unlock all difficulties if you can't enter the cheat code.

I decided to make this tutorial since some have problems on activating the cheat code due to gamepad problems and skill issue.

  1. Create a clean save file first of your DMC3 (after cutscenes, save at Mission 1) then exit the game. This method will only work for fresh save file.

  2. Locate your save file directory (Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Devil May Cry 3) which will show the "save0.sav". Before you proceed, it is important to BACKUP your save file.

  3. Open your "save0.sav" with hex editor (any would work but I used HxD) then starting from Offset 0x08 to 0x17, change the values to FF.

    Next look for Offset 137 then change the value to FE. Failure to do this will corrupt the save file.
    Now Save the file and close the Hex Editor.

  4. Open DMC3 game again and you'll see Vergil will be unlocked, along with the other difficulties, skins, clear art bonuses and more.

You can now go YOLO and suffer in Dante Must Die (DMD) mode. 🤣

Surprisingly, this method works for the PS2 version but the Offset will be different.

Hey, so I have a very specific issue where I just want to unlock the things I had but not everything. My save file got corrupted and i lost my progress. I was playing in normal mode. I had just started mission 8. I did all the secret levels. and had all the weapons you unlock up until that point fully upgraded except the shotgun. I had swordmaster level 2 and that is it. could you please help me figure out what offsets i need to change specifically and to what values?
