One Pump Chump - Breaker PvE Skill Tree
By Boletarian Proletarian
This guide is not meant for Breaker combos. In all honesty, I suck at combos, I suck at PvP and I do not practice anything. Hell, I have not even tried every single Breaker skill. The goal here is to create a guide that people get so frustrated at, that they decide to make something better.

Having said that, I've soloed all the games main questline content and part of the Necromancer area. I've got a decent handle on what is pretty effective for Breaker. Hopefully I can break down most of the skills. Really welcoming other input or for people to actually make their own guides.

Introduction
Hello everyone. So here's some things to understand about the guide and where the information is coming from. I am currently a level 40 Breaker that's solo'd the whole main questline. It's nothing impressive, the point I'm trying to make is that I've got a feel for most of the current skillset. The idea is to help you create you're own skill setup. This is going along with a build idea of doing big 1 hit AoE shots. The most difficult aspect I've seen in this game is dealing with bosses and I want to share my way of dealing with them. PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW MY RANKINGS. My current skillset is still pretty awful as I have not reset it. You're going to need to read in order to get what you really need as beginner out of this guide.

Some terms I may be using include;
OTG - "On(or Off) the Ground". Basically skills that hit enemies that are knocked down.
Super Armor- The game calls it tough mode. Basically, the yellow aura that lets you take damage, but complete your animations.
I. Active Skills(Part I)
Slash:
So basically additions to auto attacks that do higher damage. For this guide, I max Slash. Damage is high on triple slash and the last hit does knockdown and has super armor. Alot of people will also level this up to 1 or 9 as they don't want triple slash as slash and double slash are great combo extenders. It's personal preference. This ability is also just pressing Z so ez damage for really low mana cost.

Jump Upper Kick:
I never use this. It's a great combo extender and air juggle. It just does not fit my PvE play style at all so I never use it.

Fast Evasion:
Your best defensive tool. Max it ASAP. Having a vertical dodge every 2 seconds is awesome. This also cancels just about every animation you do as well(though I do have some trouble cancelling Breaking Circle sometimes).

Destruction:
Probably my most used offensive skill. Okay foward arc, but lots of damage with a low mana cost (the command is pretty simple to remember) and a low CD. Seriously, if a boss is too fast for you or you're just having trouble, dodging around and popping this everytime it's off CD makes fights super simple.

Double Hit:
Tried it, did not care for it. Basically a get off me button, but I do not usually want to kick enemies off me. Maybe putting a point into it to use when other stuff is on CD isn't a bad idea, but I don't think it's worth the investment. It'd probably look cool as a combo ender I guess, but this ain't no combo guide.

Butterfly:
Neat aerial combo extender on a pretty low cd. Doesn't fit the playstyle for this guide so I wouldn't level it anyway.

Sliding:
I don't level it, I think the extra dodge is a little redundant. I wouldn't say not to put a point into or max it though. There's situations where it would definately be useful, and it has a link move so it could be a decent gapcloser. This one's preference.

High Smash:
Another launcher. However it has a little longer cd than Jump Upper Kick, but has super armor that increases as you level the skill up. Does not fit my playstyle, but would not be bad to have more extenders if you like combos.

Down Kick:
I do not really use this enough to justify leveling it, but it is by no means a bad skill. A really strong OTG that can be an easy reset with Crazy Down Kick levelled. I do not think it's super important for PvE, but this skill is a preference to put points into. I wouldn't put more points into it other than what is required for Crazy Down Kick though.

Guard:
Learn from my mistake. Do not max this. You do not even have to spec it at all. If you are going to spec it all, only put a point into it. The delay you get while blocking is bad and you can't block magic. It is a decent panic button for when you're trapped in a spot you can't fast evade out of. That's the only reason to put a point into it.

Advent of Predecessor:
It is an okay skill that only costs 1 AP. Probably not something you'll use often outside of Asura, but the cost is worth the damage. I don't have a point because my setup right now is awful. The skill is worth the spare point. Just make sure you have some way to notify you're group about the skill and practice it a bit with some friends.

Wave:
Okay skill, decent frontal range and damage. Probably not worth more than a single point invesment. I would not use it enough to spec it, but it is a preference skill.

Shoulder Charge:
Okay skill. Small gap closer that has super armor briefly on start up. You'll usually want to only use the first dash and then follow up with other attacks rather than using the second charge. Take at least 1 point in this, as the skill it leads up to is worth the investment.

Reverse Attack:
Aerial recovery. I don't really get air combo'd in PvE. It's preference whether or not you want to spec this. Really is not necessary.

Down Smash:
I cannot really comment on this one, if anyone wants to spot me it would be awesome. Sounds like a meh OTG so I did not want to put in the stat investment.

Home Run:
Pretty much the same idea as Double Hit, but more damage and mana cost. Did not really play with this skill just so Exodus use it so can not really comment.

Giant Sweep:
Max this. This is the reason you put 1 into Shoulder Charge at least. Leveling gives huge cooldown reduction and more range. Walk into a room and use this with Dark Slash or Destruction and you will clear most of the mobs.

Jump Cancel
Not a bad move. Worth 1 point, but don't bother maxing. You probably won't be jump cancelling enough to make the reduced CD worth it. I feel Fast Evade is a better escape tool, but having too many is never a bad thing.

Rolling Storm:
Probably my favorite ranged attack. The startup is super fast so you don't have to worry about cancelling the attack with Fast Evasion. Strong damage decent range and hits targets OTG. You really can't go wrong putting a point into this. Just remember to use Fast Evasion to cancel the excess animation.

Dark Slash:
Basically another Destruction. Max it (can only go up to 8/10 currently). Some differences, the cooldown is longer, the damage is a bit lower (might overcome Destruction at 10), higher CD, has a blind (we do not really care about that), has a HUGE foward arc range(like 180), super armor, and has a weird delay when making contact. Enemies sort of just float for a bit after getting hit and you stay still. However, you can cancel out of the animation while the enemies remain stuck. Positioning your Dark Slash so that you can Fast Evade and then Destruction is basically going to be your main tool fighting quick bosses. Just time the hit for when their super armor is down and you will deal ALOT of burst damage. Crits and back attacks make it even better.

Guard Smash:
Guarding sucks so using a skill off guard is a waste of points. Will not be getting enough use.

Breaking Circle:
Pretty high damage, auto guards if you get basic attacked while doing it, and okay frontal AoE. I've had weird issues cancelling it with fast evasion. Skills not really necessary. 1 point if preference and can look pretty cool using as an air juggle I guess.

II.Active Skills(Part II)
Armor Breaker:
This skill is meh for me probably because I do not use it enough. Most prefix mobs can resist the effect at a decent rate and bosses are worse. Has super armor though which is nice and can be charged for okay damage. The damage increase is really nice when it procs and you might as well invest the three points because Great Ax is pretty cool.

Revenge Attack :
Basically, a double hit OTG that does decent damage. It's okay, and it gives you a reason to get an OTG if you like Ax Scratcher.

V-Slasher:
Anothe aerial combo that ends with another launcher if it hits right. I kinda just put points into it because I liked it and needed another move to use when stuff was on CD. 4x normal attacks into V-Slasher is a super basic combo and you can follow it up with slash if enemies are against the wall. Probably another 1 point wonder if you want it.

Great Ax:
Really just a crowd clearing style move. I usually use it for really big encounters were Giant Sweep>Destruction isn't enough to clear alot of the room. This move has super armor on startup and takes awhile to get the explosion effect off. You do a few hits around yourself before you do the huge AoE to keep mobs from beating on you. Usually not worth it on boss encounters unless they have alot of mobs you have to clear out. Have to somewhat plan out the move as well because the explosion takes awhile to start up. While you can cancel the move with Fast Evade, you lose alot of the explosion if you do it early and the cooldown is too long for it to be used frequently.

Ax Scratcher:
I would not worry about putting more than one point into this for now until we can max it. And that would still be situational.Ax Scratcher can do alot of damage. However, the positioning for it can be a bit awkward until you really practice using it fairly often. The damage has a sweetspot a fair distance infront of you and does not have a wide frontal arc in attack range. The full damage is pretty much guarenteed on larger bosses, but small ones you have to wait for them to be out of tough mode so you can get the knockdown. Would not invest more than 1 point into it for now.

Just a quick note regarding buffs. Try memorizing their inputs. 80% mana cost reduction on skills you don't usually use in combat is worth it. It will also save you hotkeys.

Human Character:
Passive HP gain. Max it why not?

Spirit of Warrior:
More attack and defence. Sure!

Link Slash:
Not a bad skill to spec at all for 1 point. I might spec out of it because I always use Triple Slash now, but really really nice for using slash as a combo extender.

Strong Body:
Skill is kinda meh. It adds the health to your total value, but will keep your health value at the same percentage. So basically, as your health throughout a dungeon, this skill becomes less effective. Probably not worth the investment

Cavala's Sweeping Hit:
I loved the dash move while leveling. Quick AoE knockdown and escape. Helped me when clearing mobs alot. However, I pretty much never use it after getting Great Sweep and Dark Slash. If you think you want it early, go for it but should probably be specced out of later.

Links:
So I don't really use the abilities to go for the links. I don't think Link Down Kick is worth it over Crazy Down Kick. Slide link might be worth it if you slide alot. If you do use Shoulder Charge, pick up the link. Makes it a much better combo extender for 1 AP.

Strong Arm:
I did not like putting points into this. I really do not notice the increase in attack speed. Then again, I am not sure I entirely understand the concept in this game. Some people tell me attack speed only lowers cast times. Even then, I do not feel like this buff is worth investing in. The only thing I really use with an obnoxious cast time is Great Ax. It might also help Breaking Circle. I'm going to need more assurance before I go recommending this buff.

Heavy Mastery:
Just grab all these you can. No reason to turn down free defence.

Cry of Warrior:
Worth the 1 point. I probably do not use this ability as much as I should. An AoE stun is nothing to really ignore. Also leads into the best buff, so drop the point.

Exciting:
Don't do what I did. Max this baby. Crit chance is worth the buff. Do it. If you hit a Destruction or Dark Slash crit, you're going to chunk like crazy. Every percent helps

Ax Mastery:
Free damage. Take it, max it, love it.

Cry of Fear and Shout of Threat:
I don't use these skills. They're CC. The best CC is death. I am willing to take recommendations on em, but I did not see a reason to invest in them.

Explosion of Fury:
This skill is great. Movespeed and all that cooldown reduction. So the trick is, to basically try to keep above 50% until the boss. If you hit that point before then, you're meter will fill up, but start depleting fairly quickly. When it runs out, you need to lose another 50% health before using the skill again. When you feel comfortable in boss fights, let them get you low enough to pop this and you can go absolutely nuts with Destruction and Dark Slash's.

Focused Attack:
I'm biased against attack speed for now, so I wouldn't invest in this until I find proof otherwise.

Final Notes
First, I want to eventually replace the icons when I get a skill reset manual and my skill tree is not garbage, so I already understand that issue.

So I understand this guide is not optimal at all. I really want to get more information out there about the classes and stuff to help active people out. Right now, all I find are Korean build guides and I can't really see logical explanations behind all the choices. So I'd appreciate help to better this guide for new players.

Keep in mind that this is also a beginner players guide. I'm going on the assumption that the players are new or bad(like me) and aren't going to want to memorize a bunch of commands. I do realize it is more optimal to put single points into alot of different skills and use everything off CD. This got me through the meat of the game and creates a playstyle that lets someone effectively solo content.

I'm not going to deviate from my idea of big burst damage. If you want to help people skill for combos, I suggest you create your own guide to help people out if that's your goal.

My main goal is to not win this comp. I really hope people realize how limited my knowledge is and we can all sort of pool together thoughts to make way better builds for new players and get some solid stuff for the more hardcore players.

Thank you.

Dude, Sliding is so frigging amazing in this game... if you slide through like 50 items, it will pick up EVERY SINGLE ITEM at level 3, i use and abuse the slide. it also is faster at getting around dungeons than walking so there's that too.

Is it all movements for you or just skills? I literally never noticed the difference, not even slightly.

That guide is not bad. But in my opinion attack speed is useful. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like I do everything at least 1.5 times faster when I use strong arm, and even 2.0 times faster when I use focused attack. Unfortunately I am new to this game, didn't play it before, but still I think attack speed isn't that useless so far. I hope for a professional breaker comment then
