Enter the Sharknado

Hello I am RickyTebby and welcome to my Trickster skill guide! The Trickster is a subclass of hunter that uses many grapples and close-quarters multiattacks to burn through large groups of enemies and even dominate bosses. Most of you skills allow you to reposition yourself with great ease and fluidity to avoid enemy attacks and target thier weak spots. I hope that this guide will help you become a breakdancefighting engine of destruction!
Active Skills - Laying down the hurt
Always Control + Right Click on a skill before you obtain it to see what you are getting into. It shows a short video of the skill in action and will give you a good idea of what it is like.
In this section I will be explaining my skill choices, how I use my skills, and my reccommendation for increasing points. Comments marked with a (UFD) tag are up for disscussion, as I have no math or resources available to me and they are mostly just theories.

Dodges: I advise you put a point in all of these as they may save your life. Use the commands instead of hotkeys if you can do it quickly and reliably every time.

Fast Evade- Simply moves you up and down very quickly. Great for dodging narrow attacks. Max points.

Sliding- Slides through enemies very quickly. Allows you to get behind frontal attack enemies and avoid frontal attacks. 2 points if you use it.

Cancel Jump- Press C during a move to quickly end it and jump into the air. Keeps you from getting hit by an attack you could easily avoid if you weren't using skill at the time. 1point.

Back Dash- Tricksters cannot block. This skill will allow you to quickly move backward to avoid a melee attack. Has a follow up skill called Escape Shot. 1 point

Escape Jump- This skill allows you to quickly recover from falling by jumping. Be careful that you wont get hit immediatly after using it. max points.

Double Jump- Does what it's name implies. Allows to jump higher and stay airborne longer. Max points.

Fake Down- Not bad, hard to hit with, put in 1 point if you want it

Ranged Attacks: As a Trickster you will not have many distance attacks. you might want to consider at least unlocking some or all of these skills to do a little damage from further away.

Shot- Fires 2-3 arrows if you press the button more depending on skill level. I maxed this skill since it only a 5 second cooldown and decently ranged

Powershot- Charge up for more damage or simply fire a quick shot in a straight line across the screen, This is the longest range attack I have on my Trickster, and a fully charged shot seems to knock down most enemies. 0 points.

Prepare to Die- Max this skill! Its cooldown goes down significantly per level and it allows you group up enemies as well as catch enemies that you cannot see! Max Points.

Splash- Haven't used it since level 20. However if you can aim it properly it will make a useful end to a combo that does decent damage. 1 point is default

Escape Shot- Use immediately after using Back Dash. Fires an arrow for decent damage in the opposite direction you moved hitting what was in front of you. 0 points.

Jump Shot- Not very ranged and very situational. there are other skills to use while jumping. Very easy command to use and plays a very small role in overall damage. 0 points

Slow Ice Shot- I put one point in this since it works with poison arrow and can hit multiple times. 1 point

Close Quarters Combat: These are you main skills. They will be the bulk of your damage and chain together well. I recommend putting extra points for damage into these skills at your discretion.

Upper Knee Kick- Knocks an enemy or multiple enemies into the air. Good to combo with Sky Shot. you start with 1 point, i wouldnt go any further.

Sky Shot- You can use while standing next to bosses or on enemies in the air. Theoretically could do quite a bit of damage but situational. 0 points.

Critical Bow- Dash through enemies to avoid their attacks and knock most down. Gives a slight damage over time that increases with level. Leveling it up increases the dot damage, but I am sticking with 1 point as I mostly use it for positioning.

Kiss of Ground- Hard to position to hit multiple enemies. On enemies you can't grab it will just do a mini Somersault Kick. 2 points if you are after Air Bomb, will be needed for when you hit 50 to get Kronos Kick I put in 0 points

Air Bomb- Grab an enemy you are basically on top of to fly into the air and crash doing AoE damge. Decent skill for groups, Does a mini Somersault kick to bosses. 0 points

Thomas- You bread and butter skill. You WILL be using this on cooldown 90% of the time. You can control the direction you move and it moves most enemies with you: try to stand still for bosses unless they are attacking then try to move through them. Combos into Windmill. Minimum 3 points I used 10 points

Windmill- Just an additon Thomas-like skill usable after Thomas. You can direct its direction but its pretty much the same as Thomas. Required skill, I used 7 points

Caesar's Kick- Great skill for moving sideways to dodge or simply doing damage. Will hit downed enemies if you are closer to the ground. I reccomend using immediately after jumping when for damage and at the top of your jump for dodgeing/moving. I used 9 points

Somersault Kick- Good skill to end a long combo with on air borne enemies. Good damage but you need to time it right. Good for bosses and groups also. Minimum 1 point.

Sliding Tackle- Great skill to start a combo. will hit enemies on the ground and take them with you. Knocks them airborne also. I got 5 points for the special effect

Spinning Arc- Great skill, can dash back and forth and up and down. great for moving diagonally, minimum 1 point

Tumble Pop- I have never used this skill successfully. Caesar's Kick just seems like the go to skill in the air. Get it if you want it, but I do not recommend it.

Passive Skills - Not really that passive after all
The passive skills tree consists of mostly buffs and debuffs, and a few are activated and have cooldowns. I have tended to stray away from putting points into most of the passives as I feel I could get more damage out of skill points. However, this is just a theory, because I haven't done or seen any math on this. I am going to skip most of the flat stat increase passives as i haven't taken them., but I will list a few exceptions.

Passives

Links- There are 4 links a Trickster can learn. Link Thomas and Shot are a must with my skill build, but the other 2 are situational. Link Sliding is useful if you attack after a slide. Link Sky Shot will come in handy if you use Sky Shot often, as you can continue your combo.

Telluos' Ambush- I do not use dash attacks very much, as I prefer the Basic Attack. I have no points invested.

Hunter's Spirit- Not sure if I should invest in this yet. (UFD) I have heard that attack speed effects skill cast times, which will effect abilities like Prepare to Die with slow animations. This one is completey up to you.

Break Mastery- I'd say worth a point for 2% break. i did not put a point in this though

Dynamic Combo- 10% crit after combos? Get it, your skills combo very easy.

Physical Upgrade- I would say that this does more average damage than a point in a skill. I am maxing it.

Actives Passive Skills

Let's Critical- As the name implies, it increases your critical. It will last for a while, and will increase your damage more if you have more critical power. Max this for partying

Flexible Body- Increases break chance by 8% at max level for a duration. Good if you want a defensive cooldown or staacking break.

Catch Slow- Throws a binding to 'stun' enemies and increase damage you do to them. I put in 2 points for Acrobat Step, it's up to you because these 2 skills are not game breaking.

Acrobat Step- Increases movement speed. I put a point in for emergencies and for when i stack buffs for tough fights. Great for the Tornado Frogger in arwin

Poison Arrow- My favorite buff. It turns your Basic Attack into a power house. Not only will your Basic attack continue to hit downed enemies, It will pierce through them all, and add a debuff. I am thinking about maxing this but i havent yet. I might take points out of other passives if i respec because it increases the duration of the buff and damage of the debuff.

Dupler Gate- This summons a wooden dummy that enemies will attack. But that isn't the best part. With 2 points in this and 1 in Wooden Puppet Mastery, enemies that attack the dummy will take 30% more damage for 5 seconds. Not bad, but I didnt use any points here.
