Hi,

I made this to share my findings and maybe help some of you guys with your playthroughs when you first start. I did not find any tips and tricks online only guides on how to do certain things that spoiled the experience.

I hope it will help. Good luck out there.

-When opening the building menu the game automatically pauses.

-Technology Tree research levels(I,II,III,IV,V) are upgrading for all branches(Heating, Exploration&Industry, Resources, Food,Health&Shelter)

-Hold ALT button to see assigned builders to buildings and workspaces and the percentage of people present.

-Max of "Outposts" that can be built is 2 each outpost is supporting maximum One Team.

-Keep an eye out on the weather forecast for daily weather changes.

-A new day starts at 5:00.

-Build during the night when the workers are free.

-Turn on temperature overlay during the night. You can turn off heaters that are running at closed structures.

-While hunting, the hunters do not suffer from heating effects so the heating in that area is not mandatory.

-Heating radiators consume 24/24H Coal. (even when workers go home)
Make sure that you pause the game and turn them off after the day ends at all workplaces/workstations and turn them on in the morning.

-Tents/Houses and hospitals should be built near the reactor as they need heat all the time.

-Max of 1 hospitals need to be built at the start.

-Cookhouse does not need to stay close to the reactor
Cookhouse can be turned off until food is needed. Otherwise people will eat all the time.
Food is not needed unless you have quest or your hunger rate is 25% of the population.

-Workshop should be built after the houses to start research.



Keep generator turned off during the day until reach -30 Temps. During the night and from -40 degree keep it ON all the time.

Generator Overdrive does not consume more resources when in overdrive

• It takes ~12:40 Hours to disperse 25% heat. (With No Researches unlocked)
  
• It takes ~6 Hours to reach 25% heat (With No Researches unlocked)

-Make sure overdrive is 5% tops when colder weather comes to buy more time.
-Generator Range upgrade is useless if you are using Steam Hub as the heat does not overlap.
-Steam Hub is better early as you can heat further away until unlocking Reseach LVL 5.
-Generator Range is more efficient in heating. Should be researched later in game.


Steam Hub does not heat the Coal workers outside Coal Thumper but heats the workers inside.
When building a structure, you can see if it is heated by the hub by looking at the hub.

• If the HUB is White the structure is heated.
  
• If the HUB has normal color the structure is not heated.

Steam Hub does not stack. Adding 2 steam hubs close to one another is a waste of resources
If generator is increased to 2 and covers houses heated by the Steam hub, No extra heat is given.
Maxed out research Steam Hub provides 150% range and uses 4.6 coal/day.
Steam hub has same steam level as the generator.

That is all i learned by testing stuff myself out at the moment of making this guide.



->Exploring Baloon needs to be explored first as the expeditions are great advantage.
->Fast gathering
->Sawmill research
->"Hunter's gear" for efficient hunting.
->Steam hub 3rd


-Steam Cores and Coal Outposts are most valuable outposts.
-You should have at least 14 automatons for end game to produce Coal if you do not want citizens to die of sickness.
