A-969 Roof Addons

I recently discovered that the A-969 has an unused "LuazTent" addon socket. Based on the name, I presume it was originally intended to be the attachment point for a soft top similar to that on the A-469, but this was cut from the game at some point during development.

So, here are a few addons to use that socket! These are for the official A-969, and do not require a separate modded version of the vehicle.

• Light Bar addon (from the Chevy Blazer/NAPCO 3100)
  
• Roof Trunk addon (from the Chevy NAPCO 3100)
  
• Repair Supplies (from the Hummer H1)

The Roof Trunk addon requires the new Repair Supplies addon to be installed, because the latter is short enough to fit underneath the Roof Trunk, which the other standard A-969 addons would intersect with. The Light Bar, on the other hand, is incompatible with the Roof Trunk but works with any other combination of addons.

There are some mesh holes in the Light Bar's supports that are visible from the cab view, which is simply due to the fact that it was not designed for this vehicle.

Also, the Roof Trunk is very heavy, and is positioned almost directly over the rear axles. This makes the vehicle both top-heavy and rather prone to tipping over backwards - unless you have a trailer attached, which helps a lot with the latter. Be careful on hills.


I originally made this mod just for fun (see: the thumbnail), but after some testing the oversized Roof Trunk actually works quite well. The vehicle has enough power to compensate for it, and the extra weight helps with grip and overcoming things like tree branches. Plus, with a Scout Trailer attached it's far less prone to flipping backwards (and can carry two garage points in addition to both repair points and a small amount of fuel.
