Torpedo boats of the Bolshevik project 183 (according to the NATO classification — P-6 class torpedo boat) are torpedo boats that were in service with the USSR Navy and the GDR Navy.
By the end of the 40s, the basis of the "mosquito fleet" in the USSR Navy was made up of light redane G-5 boats, produced in a fair amount. Their shortcomings according to the results of operation have also already become quite clear, mainly serious limitations on seaworthiness and autonomy. Therefore, the leadership of the Fleet was working on options for larger and more seaworthy boats, such as the D-3 and SM-3, which, however, did not lead to large series of these boats. Work on the design of large seaworthy boats continued almost the entire war. In OKB-5 of the NKVD, such work was also carried out first in Leningrad, then in the evacuation in Zelenodolsk, but during the war only one experienced seaworthy boat pr. 163 (STKA DD) was designed and built, which after testing in 1943 was transferred to the Black Sea Fleet. A much more advanced ave. 183 was released much later, only in 1948, and it was released for testing in the spring of 1949. The boat turned out to be very successful, was built in a large series and became the basis for many options, including as a carrier of a new class of naval weapons — guided anti-ship missiles. According to the NATO classifier, the boat received the designation P-6 class torpedo boat.
