Report a translation problem
1) Don't be afraid to expand the ships floor space a LOT. Use the Scanner and Tractor Beam for a minute or two to grab lots of the resources needed for floor pieces.
2) Have a dedicated crafter or smelter for each basic processed material and keep its inputs full as you collect them. When you use resources from your inventory stack, you can refill it by dragging from the crafters output onto the stack to fill it up to maximum and keeping the crafters inputs full will ensure you always have four full stacks ready to go when you need them.
