Glass Cannon: The Prophet
By eThug.is
An in-depth guide to get you started with the prophet class. I will be focusing on the prophet with default abilities, as this is intended for those new to the class.

The Class
The Prophet class is, by my definition, a burst damage disabler. With abilities like Hex Shot, you do a large burst of damage and disable their abilities for an amount of time. This is a character for people with more evasive play styles.
If you like to be aggressive and go looking for fights, this class is not for you. If you cannot dodge well, this class is not for you. If however you believe these things to not be a problem for you, this may be your niche.
The Prophet is more of a support class, but a crucial one at that. You won't be getting many last hits, so you will mostly get assists, but without that help it would have been a death for your buddy, and one step closer to defeat. The Prophet is for groups no doubt.
Basic Strategy
As the Prophet you must stay alongside your teammates. If you are caught alone by a vampire, it is almost guaranteed you will not survive. Because you were running around by yourself now your team is one kill closer to losing. Don't do it. Stay with your team at all times, if you died as soon as you spawn make a beeline for your group. The Prophet is like the title suggests a "Glass Cannon", meaning she is squishy but dishes out hell. Your teammates must serve as points of aggro for the enemy team or you cannot do your job.
Combatting the Reaver
The Reaver is a very agile dps disabler. Known for their "Pounce". Keep your eyes out for Reavers on all fours, if they are in this position they are charging their pounce, get ready to dodge. If they pounce you, you'll lose a lot of health right away, and will be at a disadvantage for the remainder of the fight. So if you are going to attack a Reaver be sure to use Hex Shot right away, to disable them while you hand their ass to them. If you don't disable them they may smoke bomb or evade and escape. If you find yourself up close and personal with a Reaver, roll, and try to avoid meleeing. Keep shooting and leading him, your team combined with your attacks will rek him harder than ever. Reavers are very quick however, so be very careful.
Combatting the Tyrant
The Tyrant is a low dps bullet sponge. They are intended to look big and scary to draw attention away from the rest of the team, so they may do their work. They can take a lot, which means they have a large health pool. This is where Life Leech comes in. If you steal from the Tyrant, you gain health, he loses it faster, which means your team can go back to paying attention to the other vampires faster. Dodging the Tyrant's charge is essential. If you do not, it will be hard to recover from the stun time he got. He may ground slam and stun you again, which in that case, certain death is imminent. So dodge the charge. If the Tyrant turns his attention to you, the same tactic used on the Reaver works here as well, almost better actually do to the Tyrants lack of speed. He will keep swinging, you'll keep dodging and shooting, he'll keep dying. Make sure to Hex Shot him after his charge so he cannot ground slam, and steal his health before he dies.
The Sentinel...
Do not engage the Sentinel, you do not have the range, or the speed to go toe to toe with the Sentinel. If the Sentinel is in the sky, wait for him to come down, and do not get grabbed. When he's on the ground, if he target's you just evade and let your team take him out. If he target's a teammate, immediately Hex Shot him, so that he can't stun you with his Wing Flap. No trick to fighting him when he's targeting someone else other than that. Shoot him, steal health, whatever. The Sentinel, never forget, is the largest threat to you. He will screw your day up, hard. Try not to draw his attention.
Combatting the Deciever
The Deciever is a very sneaky class, as the name gives away. He can disguise himself as teammates, and cloak himself. I think a big part of the Prophet's job is to spot the Deciever. Just pay attention to when things just aren't right. For example a "teammate" very aggressively approaching you, you're all together and there's a mysterious fifth teammate off in the middle of nowhere. Two of the same teammate in the same place, things like that. The Deciever's tricks are very easily spotted, if you are paying attention that is. In the heat of battle, these things are often overlooked, and that's how to lose games. Now, when fighting the deciever, think about how you would fight the Prophet, disable, dominate, kill. Hex Shot to start, so he cannot recloak, then dodge and Leech, shoot, whatever does the job. The Deciever is also very squishy, just like you. It doesn't take much to kill him if you can land your hits. Just don't let him escape, or else he may be able to recloak or redisguise himself and come back.
My Suggested Config
I use the default stuff, except I use heavy pistols, you get more bang for your buck, so you can finish off your enemy faster. The daily perks are fine unless there is a specific one you REALLY like, personally I like Quick Hands (Reload Speed). Draining Curse can be a pretty good substitute for hex shot if you prefer AoE.
Conclusion
I'd just like to thank you for reading, please rate and favorite if this helped you. Also please let me know of any errors in the guide, typos, misinformation, anything as long as it's constructive. I wish you luck!

Get a group of friends to play with you. This sounds like a problem with your team not you. So go in with a few people you know will listen, then you can start getting some real strategies together and begin improving.

I try to follow the guide as best as i can, but it seems as i allways get targeted, and i don't know how to really reposition myself. I try to tell my group to take some poitns of agro to do my job but they dont listen and instead of saying im a glass cannon, call me Loose Cannon. I just really cant improve as hard as i am trying.

@Spoodz It really depends on you. If you are good at landing all your shots on the head, heavy pistols are the way to go cause you can drop tyrants in 2 hits. If your aim isn't the best, quick pistols allow you to get more lead out, and less reloading. Also to everyone else, this guide was made almost as soon as the game went closed beta, it was the first guide made for the prophet and I'm not currently working on it. So there may be things that are no longer accurate due to possible changes to the game.

Also are quick pistols a better way to go because they have a bigger clip size, overall ammo, and much better fire rate?

Can you include some Scenarios?

In my opinion The less spread perk is very effective since you can deal those important extra damages while shooting, afterall I feel like the pistol's kinda acting like a quick-shotgun..

Since if you have the less spread perk you can more effectively shoot the sentinels that may be flying or that coming vampire with that extra shot or two.

My opinion :D

The prophet is one of the worst things to fight as a sentinel, the only thing worse than them is a hunter with the 20% less spread perk, this is just plain shooting aswell no special skills needed, in a 1 v 1 a prophet will win against all but the tyrant.

The Tyrant can only be solo killed if they do use abilities, Your guide is good and in depth for each class you need to fight and perhaps one day It will actually be this way but for now the prophet unfortunately is just working off the back of its dual pistols with their high fire rate, high damage and high accuracy all on 1 weapon.

Parallax, in my opinion another teammate should engage, then the Prophet should pop in, as to avoid aggro.
