Compatible with CK3 1.17 "Ascendant" and the Coronations DLC Update

Ever felt weird that wherever you played, the illustrations for events were always the same?
More Background Illustrations addresses this issue by providing an abundance of illustrations to enhance the uniqueness of each playthrough, no more no less.

Originally, the material included in this mod was exclusively intended for Flavor Pack Submod. However, this has quickly grown into a mod of its own.
This is a simple graphical mod

  • 317 New background illustrations based on geographical regions and seasons more than doubling the amount of illustrations.

I’ve focused on natural landscapes for now, but I will add more in the future, in the hope of making each region unique.

The content of this mod is also intended for modders, as it contains an array of illustrations that would not naturally appear in the game. It can also be implemented in overhaul projects introducing large map alteration but would like more diverse illustrations.

  • Compatible with nearly every mod: RICE, VIET, EPE, CFP…
  • Note: Changes will not appear if you play overhaul mods set in different worlds (eg: LotR, GoT)
You can essentially put in your collection mods and not worry about it.

Achievements/Ironman Compatible
Save-Game Compatible

Flavor Pack Submod adds content for The Fallen Eagle mod, including decisions, events, and mechanics.

More Lifestyles add 2 new lifestyles with unique focuses, perks, interactions, decisions and events.

Godherja: The Dying World is an original Total Conversion mod set in the vast and storied world of Aeras, featuring unique religions, cultures, magic, and a plethora of custom mechanics.

I get this error:

duchy 'd_otuken' defined in region 'ufp_b_mongolia' not found

@FyrFly I think so yeah, can't be a 100% sure without testing but they haven't changed much, just added one entry for the coronation activity
FyrFly 13 sep @ 2:11
Askil do you think it will still work with 1.16?

More Lifestyle has been updated to 1.17 "Ascendant" and the Coronations DLC Update

The Polish version will now display English localizations too

@ContentCreator I’m not going to make and maintain a compatibility patch for a mod that has decided to modify barbershop.txt for absolutely no reason. That’s on their side.

@Cardolam I've checked again and I'm not having that issue

Hello! Unfortunately, these background images are not displayed as before in the "Better Barbershop" modification interface. Please make them compatible so that they work in the barbershop game. This mod, "Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded", prevents background images from being displayed in the hairdressing game...

@Askil

I don't know what the game does if it finds the same duchy defined in two regions, which is happening. What I can say is that I have reports of ppl not being able to migrate to provinces that are supposed to be steppe and I don't touch that area of the game.

Take a look when you can, mate. Thanks for the mod!

@Cardolam, I'm a bit skeptical, I'm not changing geographical regions, I'm just adding new ones iirc. And the new CE2 Backgrounds should take precedence over MBI's

Probably won't be able to take a good look at it until the end if the months
Cardolam 1 maj @ 10:10
@Askil,

I am positive now that given the changes MBI makes to map_data/geographical_locations cause serious issues with migration of Mongols.
The mod needs an update.

Thanks for your time developing this!

Hey @Askil,

Are you sure the new changes made to the geographical regions related with steppe made in vanilla are taken in consideration by MBI?

This can potentially have other implications for gameplay related with steppe locations not being considered "steppe" anymore.

Notice also that I am seeing the vanilla file inside map_data/geografical_locations has been updated for KotS while yours have not.

Please, understand I am speculating a bit here, but I have had a report from a player complaining about this issue and as I integrated your mod into mine (Dark Ages), it crossed my mind something might be happening here.

Thanks!
