- Segment the map into grids and establish grid units
- Plot your current coordinates
- Plot your expected coordinates
- Plot your route and calculate grid unit distance from current to expected coords
- Orient yourself
- Walk
- Keep note of landmarks on your way to expected coordinates
- Don't get lost
