Overview
This Guide will show you some tips and tricks for the story mode of Farm for your Life. It WILL contain spoilers, but there is no real background story that can be spoilered.
Protection of the farm
The most important thing is how you protect your farm. There are six entrances for zombies, three on the west side and three on the east side. You want to protect your farm from zombies spawning in these entrances, about 2-4 per side and night.

In the first few days you will need to defend your farm by throwing corn at the zombies. Later on you will get automated guns to kill them. Make sure to have enough stone and corn at every night to not run out of ammo.

With three stone and two corn throwers per side you should be safe. I made two screenshots to give a hint how to build the fence and those throwers. With that setup a have not killed a single zombie by my own hands after the first few nights.
Working on the farm
There are two things to do every day:
  • Make food
  • Sell food

You can have up to three workers that will help you on the fields and in the kitchen. The workers need days to appear (maybe you need a number of recipies learned for them to appear) and will work for a meal every morning. To avoid cooking for them you can just block the tent openings.

The farming itself is pretty easy. Just plant enough to keep up with your needs and let a worker do the watering and harvesting. Only important thing here is to fertilize your plants if needed (there will be an icon showing the plant is in critical state) cause the workers wont do that (sometimes they will if the fertilizer is laying on the ground but most times it had to do it myself). Fertilizer can be bought from the merchant.

The field setup should be compact to avoid long ways to the chest and pump. If you want, you can plant some sprinklers later in the game, but at the beginning you should spent your parts in corn and stone throwers.
Missions
After the tutorial your farm will slowly grow and about once a week a new worker will appear. When all three workers appeared a scientist will arrive and offer his help with the zombies. Now the end is near, you only need to finish his mission. He wants you to construct a few buildings (if not already done) for his research. After that you need to lure a zombie to one his projects by building a path of prepared corn. Make a small gap in your fence and build that path to the treadmill. Dont use to much corn or the zombie will be repleted and turn around. Another solution is to build a maze to the treadmill, that would also give you an achievement.

A few days after catching the zombie he will give you the golden scythe and you have to get a plant from the graveyard. Noticed the the grandpa zombie over there? After creating a cure your last job is to heal as many zombies as possible.

The story is finished once you healed that special zombie at the graveyard.

Nice, no in-depth explanation on how to leave the map with the flower of OP zombie luring.

@Squaretoxic:
I thought so, too.
Best you can do is harvest the plant, then left-click on the nearest exit so your person runs fastest and shortest way towards it. If they catch you, try again. Don't try to evade, it seems to be a waste of time. Took me 5 attempts, but it worked, eventually.

Exact term in game is "feeding trough". After that repair the bridge and take Berta home. For 1 cow you need about 10 cropfields of grass (half of greater crop for red sprinkler), cause milk and eggs are "created" continualy - cow must 3-4x eat without pause. When is feeding pause and she must wait, loose a milk. Grass are only crops which you must harvest personaly. And milking you must do personaly too. Workers cannot do it for you.
So - grass - feeding through - bridge - milking - dispenser.

I havn't heard anything of a carpenter. For milk you need to build the tray (is that correct? Not sure what the correct english term for that..) for grass, a cow and a milk dispenser for your kitchen. The tray and the dispenser can be bought from the person next to the kitchen, the cow from the animal and fruit person.

What about getting the carpenter? I've got two workers and people on my farm have started asking for milk but I've not seen this guy and I cannot for the life of me find out how to trigger him or where to go to get him.

About fertilize - always let it on ground when buy it - workers find it and do it on they own :-)
