(8) Crossing the Volturno river

The attack on the Volturno Line (German : Viktor line, Italien:Linea del Volturno) was carried out by the US VI Corps (Lucas) and British X Corps (General McCreery) of the Fifth Army. In the American sector it was 150-220ft wide and in several sectors was only 3ft deep, and could be forded.
The U.S. Fifth Army, commanded by Lieutenant General Mark W. Clark, attacked across the Volturno on the night of 12 October 1943.The Germans, using rearguard tactics, succeeded in slowing the American advance. They skillfully utilized the terrain, which was favourable for defence.

Map size : playable area 736 x 736, combat area 704 x 704.

Fuel points 8 : 6 low fuel at 5 points each and 2 medium points at 10 each (total 50 fuel points)
Munitions points 10 : 6 low munition points at 5 point each , 2 medium points at 10 points and 2 large at 16 point (total 82 munition points)
Manpower points 6 : 6 manpower points at 8 points each (total of 48 manpower points)
Victory points 5 : 3 in midle line and 2 offeset to 1 one each side

You can have a quick battle`s of 15 min or long battle`s at 35-55 min on this map. It all depends on those VP points.


Each team has two starting positions one in each corner with 2 players in each.

Therefore as each teams two starting position has two players in each, they will need to work together in their respective sectors in order to win. If not ,you will lose. enjoy
