Renfe's 446 Series, an EMU designed to provide effective commuter services in major urban centres in Spain. Developed from the prototype 445 Series, these trains significantly improved the quality of Spanish commuter services. Since it was designed for lines with short distances between stations, the train sacrifices max. speed for better acceleration.
