My Headcanons on the Lore behind all Deathscreens and Entities (Specimens, Monsters, Dollhouse Anomalies, and More)
By Secret Flag
I believe every Specimen, Monster, and Entity in Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion has a story behind them. A lot of people tend to not try to decipher the sometimes insanely cryptic messages the deathscreens provide due to them being merely references or just stuff written because it sounds cool. However, I wanted to find out if I, using the evidence provided in the game, could come up with headcanons that accurately describe the lore of each entity.

Introduction
WELCOME TO A COMPLETE DISCUSSION ON THE LORE OF THE DEATHSCREENS OF ALL THE ENTITIES!

Or rather headcanons, at this point.

When I first wrote this, I wanted an accurate description of the lore of all the Entities in Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion. However, as I later found out from the devs themselves, a lot of the deathscreens are just references or don't really have any lore. Thus most of my "lore" is more or less just headcanons. Anything not explicitly stated as CANON by the game or devs is probably not true or just left up for interpretation. So, while there may be some actual canon things in this guide, a lot of it is just headcanons with lots of evidence backing them up.

With that being said, however, I still wanted to decipher the deathscreens anyways, and see if I can come up with some sort of meaning behind them, even if, in the end, they don't really mean anything. Plus, I haven't seen anyone actually attempt to decipher the deathscreens, so I'm curious to what other people might think they mean.

For the sake of consistency, I will be using 'entity' to be referring to any anomaly within the mansion that is 'living'. In each entry, when deciphering the deathscreens, I will explain my headcanon lore of the deathscreen before I explain how I came to my conclusions. It should also be noted that some entries may not have parts where I discuss the evidence, since it is part of the explanation and doesn't need to be explained separately.

Also, just to make sure everyone is one on the same page, this guide is composed of HEADCANONS THAT ARE NOT ACTUALLY CANON TO THE STORY. So do keep that in mind when reading.

Anyways, without further ado, let's begin shall we?

(Also for anyone curious, I will be updating the images on this page to fit the new models once well cropped images are uploaded, so it might take a few months before I update it with any new info regarding the S.O.U.P. models).
Specimen 1
Um, uh, well, I, you see the thing is...

Yeah, going to be honest, there isn't much to this one. It's just a cardboard cutout jumpscare, meant to represent the cheapness of jumpscares in general. Creative idea, but not too much lore behind it. Not to mention, it doesn't even have a deathscreen. Although there isn't much to this entity, I want to mention that unlike every other entity in the game, it's the only one that appears in every Mode of the game, which means it's in Story, both DLCs, and Endless. Does this mean it has some super deep secret lore I can headcanon about? Well, no. There isn't enough here to really make some kind of lore out of. Next.
Specimen 2
AKA Goop.

As the first entity in the game, he isn't too much of a threat. However, if he does kill you, you see an image of a bunch of mouths and eyes flying into your face:

After this, you see static in the background, with red flashing every now then, with text that reads:

It's only 3 sentences, but there is a lot to unpack in these few phrases.

Explanation? The meaning of this whole phrase is that we have now become part of a multitude of people who have also been killed and merged with the Specimen. Specimen 2, as stated by his cat-dos entry, is a "semi-solid based specter", meaning he's composed of solids but is also able to turn into a liquid at will. Specimen 2 is almost like a puppetier of sorts. There is one being, one Specimen 2, but he is in control of all the matter that composes him, which is his past victims.

Evidence? Well, the first sentence refers to how, since you have now become one with Specimen 2, he now knows everything there is to know about you, since your mind has become part of him. The second sentence only furthers this, with him comforting you, saying he is now part of you, aka his goop has invaded and absorbed your body. The last sentence talks about how Specimen 2 is a group of people, but, as Specimen 2 himself says, "...I am many." He is in control of all this goop, even if there are other minds, bones, and flesh within him.
Specimen 3
AKA Spiderpede.

This one's lore is actually pretty straightforward, with a nice blend of cryptic yet simple. Anyways, when this Specimen kills you, you actually get a really cool death screen.

< Here's the video of the deathscreen. Make sure to watch this first if you haven't already seen the deathscreen or need a refresher.

Explanation? Specimen 3, as we know from its cat-dos and notes, was developed by GL labs, and was kept in a test tube. The whole message of the death screen is that at first, while in testing, Specimen 3 dreamed of being free from its containment. Of course, after escaping its test tube, Specimen 3 realized that the tube was helping feed it as well. Now it is always hungry, needing to now find food to stay alive.

Evidence? The deathscreen starts off talking about a 'land of dreams', which can be interpreted as the thoughts (albeit animalistic) of Specimen 3. It talks about how it dreamed of 'being free', which means free from containment. After now having left its containment though, it now has no more food being given through the testing tube, and now has to always search for food, as seen through the saying, "The hunger never sleeps". After all, just like us humans, it needs to get food too.

One last thing to note about the deathscreen is the presence of not one, not two, but three Specimen 3s. One reason could be, since it is like an insect, it laid eggs which hatched into more Specimen 3s. How it bred to be able to lay eggs is something I don't have any ideas for. Maybe there was another in testing it mated with? Either way, this is one of only 2 Specimens that is canonically confirmed by its deathscreen (endless spam doesn't count) to have more than one of itself, the only other one being the husks.
Specimen 4
AKA Ringu.

Specimen 4 is very interesting in that she's the only chasing Specimen to have an "alternate" form that has different game mechanics from it's base form. While these forms look kind of different, their deathscreens and designs give some lore onto Specimen 4 and why she changes form.

When Specimen 4 or her Endless form kills you, you get this deathscreen:

However, in the Dollhouse DLC for the original Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, Endless Specimen 4 is one of the Specimens you can pick for the Hellgate chase, and in this chase she gains this new deathscreen:

The Japanese in this new deathscreen translates to: "It's a hole made for you to enter".

Explanation? The dollhouse deathscreen reveals that Specimen 4 originates from a fleshy pocket dimension within a TV, and that her Endless form is her true form, the one she has when she comes out of the TV. She is famished from a lack of food when she exits her realm, and she gains extra arms in this mode so that she can grab nearby people and keep them from running. When she consumes enough people, she calms down and becomes more tame, consuming people at a less aggressive pace. GL Labs most likely found her in this state, which is why in the main game she isn't very dangerous.

Evidence? Unlike usual, I'm going to start with the second deathscreen first, as that one refers more to her origin. In the dollhouse deathscreen, we see a TV with a hole of flesh, implying that there is something in there. We also see Specimen 4's Endless form right before this, as she comes out of said TV to eat us. I believe that this deathscreen shows us how Specimen 4 is summoned through a TV, being able to travel to and from her pocket dimension with it. Specimen 4's Endless form, being more starved due to the thinner neck and body type, goes on a hunger streak, most likely eating anyone in the School who was in her path. This would explain why she gains more arms sometimes, as the needs to them to help her keep victims in her grip so she can consume them. After eating enough victims, and gaining mass, she then became less psycho and hungry.

Her original deathscreen, the one with the simple line of "Hush now my child, you're safe...", refers to how in her mind, you are now safe from all the other creatures that could kill and eat you because she got to you first. Of course, you aren't really safe, as Specimen 4 will slowly digest and kill you. Her normal form is the one GL Labs most likely found her in, as there's no way those GL Labs workers would have survived her more hungry and ravenous form. Her normal form is also most likely the version of her who ate Matsuri, due to only attacking at night instead of all day, something she would do if she was more hungry.
Specimen 5
AKA Silent Hill reference.

So if you die to Specimen 5, you are then suddenly shown a closeup of Specimen 5's face, alongside an upside-down pentagram in the background.

During this death screen, text will appear saying:

Tiny, Shining holes in the sky.
Delicate, perfect emptiness.
Black, growing absences of life.
Cold, swarming death.
And we shall become them.

Explanation? Her deathscreen reveals the way she kills you. Basically, when you die to Specimen 5, your character is lying on the ground and is looking up at her face, which is also looking down at you. Your brain then starts fuzzing out and loses it's ability to think or even function at all, with the world around you going dark. Your mind, now empty of thought, then becomes one with Specimen 5's, which is, just like all her victims after death, empty of thought.

Evidence? So, how does 5 sentences communicate the idea she consumes thoughts? Well, the first sentence refers to the face of Specimen 5 looking down. This can be seen in the fact that Specimen 5's face has many holes in it, something that could only really be seen if one was up close with her. I doubt the protagonist is standing when they die, so they have to be lying down looking up at Specimen 5's face.

The next three sentences refer to emptiness, things going dark, and death. While this may seem like they don't mean much, they do once you take the first note in her encounter room into play. The first two sentences read:
The darkness is slowly
consuming us now.
I don't think our rituals will
appease it much longer.

When you combine the line "The darkness is slowly consuming us now," with the second sentence of Specimen 5's "Black, growing absences of life," the story starts to make a little more sense. This 'darkness' consuming them must be none other than their own minds. It would also fit in with what Specimen 5 does as you run from her: the altering of your vision with hallucinations. She is slowly consuming your mind, and by doing so is messing with what you are able to see. Of course, after too much of your mind is consumed, you become unable to see, and slowly die as your brain is unable to function.

The last sentence, "And we shall become them", shares a striking similarity with a sentence from 1 John 3:2, which reads "We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is." The meaning of the verse is that we will become like Christ, with our sins forgiven and washed away, and not having anymore sin within us. The phrase "we will be like him" sounds similar to "And we shall become them", with the 'them' referring not to a group, but to one person who is composed of many. Specimen 5 has the minds of all the people she has killed, with them all now being empty and devoid of life, just like her.

This deathscreen reveals that she doesn't kill her victims through her giant blade as one may think, but instead she kills them by making their minds unable to function, becoming empty of thought. Without your brain being able to think or function, you end up dying. Specimen 5 feeds off the minds of others, feeding off of their brain's thinking patterns and functions. This is why the cult she had was sacrificing people to her: they were trying to prevent themselves from having their minds consumed. However, while sacrificing, they made the mistake of giving her a girl who was not pure, mostly likely someone who could have potentially been braindead or been unable to think. This of course led to Specimen 5 most likely consuming the minds of the cult who was following her, since she had been deprived of minds to consume.
Specimen 6
AKA The Puppet.

Not only have most players seen this deathscreen, but it's probably one of the more straightforward ones.

When you die to Specimen 6, you are briefly met by his face, before suddenly seeing your eye held open by Specimen 6 as he slowly puts his needle into it.

Now, because Specimen 6 shows up in dollhouse, he actually has two unique death messages. The first one in the base game is this:

The second death message, exclusive to dollhouse, is this:

Explanation? These two death messages are related in how they relate to the Specimen's character, as they reveal how he views your fate and his motivation for killing people. In the first death message, Specimen 6 talks about how great it will be to be a puppet, and how much more life you'll have being one. In the second, he discusses why he kills people. Hes mad that his handmade puppets were 'drowned', and he uses his victims to replace those 'drowned' puppets.

Evidence? In the first death message, the first sentence discusses how being a puppet removes choice, making it so you don't have to worry everyday about making one. The second sentence continues this motif, with him further elaborating that now "nothing you do is your fault", as he has control over you. The final statement of "you belong to me" further shows that by turning you into a puppet, your life now has purpose: being a new puppet for Specimen 6's collection.

In the second death message, the first two sentences go into why he chose to kill the children of the town, with him turning them into puppets to replace his lost collection. The next two sentences go into how he goes about turning them into puppets, by taking out their eyes and sewing their bodies up with strings. In the final sentence, he turns his attention to you, telling you to not cry out in agony anymore, as you will soon be silenced once your puppetfication has been completed.
Specimen 7
AKA the two sides of the same coin, one to aid and one to destroy.

First, let's check out it's deathscreen which is:

Wait, what?

Yeah, this Specimen unfortunately doesn't have a deathscreen as of writing this. The devs are open to the idea, but when and if it'll happen is up to them. For now we can just focus instead on the symbolism of Specimen 7, and what it's therapeutic form is trying to say.

Everything the Cat says is meant to be therapy, as she is the therapist half of Specimen 7, with the wall of flesh being the trauma side. However, everything she says also applies to what happens within the lore of the game itself as well.

After greeting you with her iconic "Why hello there. Are you lost, little one?" she than says, "This place can help those who are ready, but expect turmoil more than you are used to." This line refers to the predictions the cat makes, warning the player that what they are about to see is going to show them things that they may not want to see.

Her next encounter is in the room with the strange eye compass and worms on ground, with the room having two halves: one yellow and one purple. When talked to, she says "Two sides of the same coin. Knowing your projections can help you achieve freedom." While this may just sound like random wisdom, it actually has meaning beyond the room being two colors on each end. The floor having the colors yellow and purple is very interesting because both colors have both positive and negative meanings behind them. The positive traits of yellow are optimism and happiness, while the negative traits are cowardice and deception. The positive traits of purple are wisdom and creativity, while the negative traits are immaturity and being overly-emotional. When the cat says "two sides of the same coin", she isn't just referring to the two colors on the ground, but the fact that each color has 'two sides', a good and bad. She is telling the player to make sure they follow the positive traits, which is why she also adds that 'knowing your projections' helps you become free of the trauma that is affecting you (the main character).

In the next encounter with her, you are in an office with a lone TV that shows strangely motivation material such as "follow the group" and other subliminal messages. The cat, when spoken too, says "The mask you wear serves it's purpose well, but be careful not to lose yourself in it." The mask she is referring to isn't a real one, but the one of your character in the game. If you look at what the achievement for the bad ending is called, you'll see it's named "It Was Never A Mask". This achievement is in direct reference to the warning from the cat. In this piece of dialog, the cat is warning your character to not lose themselves in the mask they are wearing; which by mask she means this fake, dangerous, and overall worse version of your true self. The bad ending, on the other hand, responds saying that your negative traits weren't masking your real ones, but that they were one in the same. Thus, the mask she refers to is the bad traits your character has, and she is warning them to not lose themselves in it, a warning not just for the upcoming wall of flesh chase, but for the potential future and specimenification of your character if you act violently and attempt to fight your way through things.

In the second-to-last room, you are sent to a space-like realm. The cat, when spoken to, says "Balance is the key to keeping your mind free and sane." Unlike most of the quotes here, this one is quite straightforward. She is warning your character to keep their sanity, not only when facing the wall of flesh, but when faced with all the other monsters chasing them. It refers to your character's sanity, and that they have to have a good balance between being able to stay cool and being able to not lose their mind and kill everything in sight out of frustration and insanity.

In the final room before the flesh wall chase, all you see is darkness, with the cat sitting within it. When talked to, she says "Knowing your shadow can greatly help you, but be ready to see what you'd rather not be." In this one, she directly talks about the flesh wall itself. When talking about your shadow, she is referring to knowing where you are. If you aren't focused and you don't know where you are within the maze-like rooms of the flesh wall, then you'll easily be consumed by it. When she talks about seeing something you don't want to be, she is talking about the wall of flesh. You can't let past trauma stop you in your tracks, as hard as it is to face. You need to overcome it in order to escape the wall of flesh, death itself, that, while inevitably consuming us all, can be stopped prematurely by overcoming our fears.

One last note about this specimen is how it is the only specimen composed of two beings. The cat is the half of the specimen that is filled with wisdom, who warns you of it's other half, the wall of flesh. They are connected in that one lives with the other, and they cannot be separated. Anyone who encounters the cat will inevitably encounter the wall of flesh.

Specimen 8
AKA Deer Lord.

Deer Lord has a lot in terms of lore. Not only does he have two different death messages thanks to Dollhouse, but he even appears in Lost in Vivo, with even more lore.

We'll start by showcasing his deathscreen, along with the two death messages. When killed by Specimen 8 in the main game, you get this deathscreen:

In Dollhouse, while the walk through the forest is the same, the message received upon death is different. It reads:

Explanation? Specimen 8 was a normal boy living with his family in a cabin, but due to a lack of food in the area, the family soon became in desperate need of food. So, they prayed to Bayagototh for food, who, upon hearing their prayers, gave them an infinite supply of food in the form of trees made of meat. However, in return, Bayagototh took Specimen 8 from his family as payment for the endless food supply. Bayagototh turned the boy into a demigod deer creature, who now roams the Mansion absorbing people into his torso region in order to add them to Bayagototh's collection of worshipers.

Evidence (Main Campaign)? This first death message describes the transformation Specimen 8 underwent when becoming a demigod deer-like being.

The first sentence, "And I saw, from eyes that were not mine", refers to how when Specimen 8 became a deer-creature, he wasn't seeing out of the eyes he had when he was a human boy.

The second sentence, "And I felt, with a fear I could not reason", refers to when Specimen 8 first became a demigod deer, he couldn't understand his emotions, and didn't understand why, although he was in utter amazement about becoming a demigod, he still felt fearful of something.

The third sentence, "They watch us, they invade us", and the fourth sentence, "And keep us happy, committing treason", are linked in their meanings. The third sentence refers to how Bayagototh is always watching and reading the minds of his demigods. However, as the fourth sentence implies, Bayagototh keeps his demigods happy and under his control by allowing them to be their own gods of their own realms, which is basically committing treason against your own ruler.

The fifth sentence, "To a King we didn't deserve", refers to Bayagototh, and how the demigods created by Bayagototh didn't deserve such blessings from it.

The sixth sentence, "To a Son who waits weeping", refers to Specimen 8 himself, how his human self, a son, is waiting in sadness to hear if his family is living happily and are well fed. Of course, Specimen 8 also probably knows he'll never get to see his family again as long as he lives.

The final sentence, "That I knew, from knowledge gained while sleeping", refers to how Specimen 8 learned about all his knowledge of Bayagototh after his child form died (sleeping), and he took on his new form as a demigod deer.

Evidence (Dollhouse)? The second death message talks about Specimen 8's relationship to Bayagototh.

The first sentence, "And as I slept, and as I grew", and the second sentence, "Something stirred, both root and sinew", refer to how when Specimen 8 as a boy died (slept) and became a demigod deer (grew), Bayagototh made his mark on the newly created demigod. This can be seen not so much on Deer Lord himself, but in his pocket dimension. The trees within the pocket dimension were most likely put there by Bayagototh, and are potentially fragments of his being.

The third sentence, "I cannot eat, nor can I starve", refers to how Specimen 8 is a demigod and doesn't need to eat, nor can he ever get hungry. It is also a reference to the sacrifice Specimen 8's family made in order to not starve to death.

The fourth sentence, "A face on the great tree did I carve", and the fifth sentence, "It spoke to me, it whispered things", refer to how after Specimen 8 proved to be effective at absorbing people, Bayagototh began to take note of Specimen 8 (carved) and give it wisdom (whispered things).

The final sentence, "It demands more life, demands more rings", continues the story of the last two sentences, with Bayagototh wanting more people to be absorbed into Specimen 8. The more people who are absorbed into Specimen 8, the more loyal worshipers (rings) of Bayagototh there will be.

Evidence (Lost in Vivo)? Specimen 8 also makes a surprise appearance in Lost in Vivo, appearing in Lost Tape #3: The Cabin. The cabin this tape takes place in is where Specimen 8 grew up, and where Bayagototh came and planted the trees of meat, as seen in a message that appears in the Cabin that reads, "HAVE TO PRAY TO IT. GIVES US FLESH." This is also the place where Specimen 8 was taken by Bayagototh to become a demigod, as can be clearly seen in one of the messages that appears in the Cabin that reads, "TOOK OUR SON".
Specimen 9
The Taker (Specimen 9's Base Form)
AKA the AFK killer.

Specimen 9, commonly referred to as Taker, has 2 forms, but we'll start with his base one before moving onto the more lore centered version.

When killed by Specimen 9 while standing still after a minute and 10 seconds, or by going down the infinite hall, you'll get this somewhat random deathscreen:

Specimen 9's death has two meanings behind it. The first one is that it reveals who most likely is recording the deathcounts in the cat-dos: Specimen 9. Your death is recorded by Specimen 9 in the Cat-Dos, as shown through his Cat-Dos death count increasing when you're killed by him. It could mean that as Spooky collects the souls, Specimen 9 records the body he receives from the death. The other meaning of the deathscreen is that it's simply a method of confusing the player after going AFK or going down the infinite hallway. The Cat-Win screensaver, along with the dramatic lights, is really confusing the first time it's seen. It's supposed to leave the player confused as to who the floating head is, and why they suddenly found themselves killed (or rather taken) after going down an infinite hallway or going AFK.

Something else interesting about this deathscreen is what happens if you move after being AFK too long and summoning Specimen 9. If you move after Specimen 9 spawns, he'll skip straight to the "TAKE THE DEAD TO" deathscreen, skipping past all the build-up. This signifies that when you move, Specimen 9 KNOWS you know of his existence, and decides to not attempt to hide his existence and skips straight to the point.

Unit 731 Survivor (Specimen 9's True Form)
AKA the Final Boss.

Most of Specimen 9's lore is contained in it's secret cat-dos entry, as show here:

As described by the cat-dos, Specimen 9 was a victim of Unit 731, a set of buildings in which horrible human experimentation took place in order for the people running it to find out more information on the human body. By Specimen 9's design, it looks like he was stripped to mere meat and bone before becoming a Specimen. It could be that after dying in the experiments, some unknown, spiritual force caused the muscle of Specimen 9, along with those of other nearby bodies, to form into some kind of clay-like substance, taking on the form of a man.

The white rooms found past room 1000 are most likely part of Unit 731, being the place where Specimen 9 most likely came into being. In these rooms is also a radio, which has the voice of someone speaking into it. When listened to, you hear:

I'm taking all those 'logs' they keep throwing out...
And I'm nailing them together.

The 'logs' being spoken about are not actually real logs, but rather the name of the humans who were experimented on in Unit 731. The sentence not only refers to Specimen 9's origin, being made up of several past victims formed into one being, but also his transformation before the final fight. Before transforming into the final boss, Specimen 9 in his head form first collects a bunch of red substance, which then starts forming the humanoid figure. That red substance is most likely the flesh of his past victims, which he is "nailing together" to form one whole being.

It should also be noted that in the original game, Specimen 9 had a different cat-dos entry. Instead of being "TAKE THE DEAD TO" over and over again, it originally described Specimen 9 as being 'Exterminated' and having been destroyed for being "too hard to contain". However, I believe that this change was actually a retcon of sorts. The originally entry was a little confusing, because the part about destroying the specimen fit more with the final boss, but describing it as a "small skull shaped mass" didn't make much sense when compared to the other half of the description. The change helped get rid of this erroneous cat-dos entry, instead replacing it with just his simple catchphrase of "TAKE THE DEAD TO". It should be noted though that GL Labs was still most likely responsible for dismantling Specimen 9's body into just his head, and that the head form still collects mass from its victims, as seen in the final boss transformation.
Specimen 10
AKA The Parasite.

When you die to this specimen, your screen flashes with strange hallucinations, as text appears with binary flashing in the background:

The binary code in the background translates to:

You are more than just an animal.
Use the soul you've been given.
And be responsible for your actions.

Explanation? When you die to Specimen 10, the parasite takes over your body and makes you its new host. As you succumb to the parasite's control, the binary message is the last of your humanity, calling out and trying to tell you that you aren't just some animal that can be led to do the bidding of another, but that you can make choices and control your own fate. But of course, those efforts end up futile, as you end up succumbing to the parasite's control in the end.

Evidence? The first two lines of having no fear or ability to think refers to the fact that now the parasite is taking control of you, and is telling you that now you don't have to make potentially risky choices anymore. The next two lines refer to the parasite telling you to give in to your animalistic instincts, such as fending for yourself and hunting for food whenever you can find it. The last two sentences reinforce the first two, basically saying that you are just an animal, and that acting like an animal is much easier than making choices on how to live your life.

The binary, on the other hand, tells a different story. The binary message starts out saying that you aren't just an animal, reinforcing it when it says to use "the soul you've been given". This reference to the soul refers to the fact that the soul is said to be the part of the human that helps make them different from other animals. Having a soul allows you to have the freedom to make choices, something no other animal can really do. The last sentence is telling you to use that soul responsibly; making the right choices to stay alive and not make foolish ones. Of course, it's hidden in binary since the parasite's control is stronger than your own.
Specimen 11
AKA beef demon.

Specimen 11's deathscreen is interesting in that his dollhouse exclusive death message complete's the death message from his original deathscreen.

When killed by Specimen 11 in the main game, you get this deathscreen:

The death message that appears upon approaching Specimen 11 in his meat hallways reads:

With every bite with bone and skin.
The temple groaned and shook again.
His dwelling place did I neglect.
To the end with bad effect.

The binary code during the first death message translates to: "Believe in God, but question the teachings of men".

However, exclusively in the HD Renovation Dollhouse campaign, Specimen 11 gets a new death message and binary code message, with the death message in dollhouse reading:

To the end with bad effect.
My path a single architect.
Grease and blood and bone within.
A chorus for eternal din.

The binary code during the second death message translates to: "Food feeds the body, words feed the mind".

Now, if you decide to combine both deathscreens, you get this message:

With every bite with bone and skin.
The temple groaned and shook again.
His dwelling place did I neglect.
To the end with bad effect.
My path a single architect.
Grease and blood and bone within.
A chorus for eternal din.

Explanation? There was a restaurant franchise that was going bankrupt, and so the higher ups of the franchise summoned Specimen 11, a demon, and asked for him to bring them success. However, when he was summoned, not only did he make it so that people would order more food, as requested by the staff, but he also started manipulating the managers, making them overly protective of the integrity of their food. He also made sure that not only were the managers profiting from this deal, but that he would profit too. His deathscreen describes how he got his end of the deal, in which he made the customers who ordered and ate the burgers to keep coming back by cursing the burgers to never fill the people eating them, but instead to cause them to get more hungry. In a sense, the burgers aren't actually digested, but somehow vanish from the people's bodies when they try to digest it, giving them barely any nutrients and substance from the burgers other than flavor. However, as more and more burgers were eaten, the hallucinations caused by the burgers would get worse, eventually causing the people eating them to make irrational decisions due to not knowing right from wrong. Eventually, the hallucinations, if the burgers keep getting eaten, would eventually cause the consumer to die from making irrational decisions due to not knowing what's real or fake. This would be where Specimen 11 comes to take the souls to his Meat Dimension, trapping them there for all eternity.

Evidence (Death Messages)? The first sentence, "With every bite with bone and skin", and the second sentence, "The temple groaned and shook again", refer to the process of eating the burger. With every bite you take, with the 'bone and skin' meant to talk about your body, your body, referred to as a 'temple' in the next sentence, wasn't able to process or digest the burger, as seen in how said body groans and shakes upon eating it.

The third sentence, "His dwelling place did I neglect", and the fourth sentence, "To the end with bad effect", refer to the hallucinations received from eating the burger. The 'dwelling place' is your body, which you neglected by eating the burgers, which caused you to keep eating them instead of eating food that will actually fill you. The 'bad effect' refers to the hallucinations, and how they will cause your untimely demise.

The fifth sentence, "My path a single architect", refers to how Specimen 11 is behind this whole soul stealing scheme. Specimen 11 is the 'single architect', planner and organizer, behind the burger scheme, being the one who is making the managers overreact to outside food and causing people to hallucinate when eating the burgers that never fill them.

The sixth sentence, "Grease and blood and bone within", and the last sentence, "A chorus for eternal din", refer to how your gluttony of constantly buying burgers will be your demise. The 'grease and blood and bone' refer to your body, which has blood, bones, and the grease from the burgers. The 'eternal din' refers to the eternal screaming from the souls of those who died from the hallucinations, being now under ownership of Specimen 11.

The first binary message, "Believe in God, but question the teachings of men", refers to how if you follow God's message of avoiding being a glutton, you will not fall into Specimen 11's trap. However, if you follow man's teaching on eating lots of food no matter the consequences, you will suffer the fate of those who ordered the burgers from the restaurant.

The second binary message, "Food feeds the body, words feed the mind", refers to how, although food does indeed feed the body and can control how energized you are, your mind is susceptible to easily being motivated by faulty words. This refers to how Specimen 11 most likely manipulated the managers into being violent about their food policy.

Evidence (Restaurant)? We know from the first note that this restaurant was expanding and doing well, despite, as the writer of the note says, the week before the restaurant "was going broke". This means that sometime before the person who wrote the note worked there, the company summoned Specimen 11. As we know from note 3 and note 5, Specimen 11 clearly did something to the managers, as one screamed at someone for bringing in outside food, and one shoved the head of an employee into a grill for openly stating his dislike for the burgers.

We know from note 2 and 4 that people who eat the burgers tend to come back, with one guy returning every 10 minutes, and then later on just not leaving the parking lot. This showcased how, although the people ordering were consuming tons of food, none of it was actually filling them, most likely because it somehow vanished from their bodies when they tried to digest it.

The 4th and 6th notes reveal how Specimen 11 kills his prey: hallucinations. When the employee writing the notes ate a burger, they had hallucinations, with one of the hallucinations almost killing them by getting them to veer off the side of the road. The 4th note also mentions how the employee saw an alternate restaurant, one that looked 'wrong'. This note reveals that Specimen 11's meat dimension is actually just an alternate version of Earth, where everything looks like meat. This can not only be read in the note, but seen when you die to Specimen 11, with his meat halls looking like a combination of certain rooms you might find in Spooky's Mansion. This meat dimension is also the realm Specimen 11 takes his souls, as seen when you die to him.
Specimen 12
The Mansion (Specimen 12)
AKA The Pseudo-Mansion.

I'll talk about the mansion before I go into the deathscreen of its host, the old man.

There isn't too much we know about the mansion, other than a potential massacre as show through all the dead bodies in the basement of the mansion.

However, these bodies don't reveal much. While it could be speculated these are past hosts, it isn't really known who they belong to. It is worth mentioning however that the basement area is believed to be the true mansion's form, being all dirt looking and decrepit, while the actual 'mansion' you explore is nothing more than a fake, but real, looking mansion. This can be seen in a note that states that everything in the mansion "feels kind of fake". However, other than that, the mansion isn't the thing everybody remembers about this specimen. Rather, it's the host the mansion possesses.

The Old Man (Specimen 12's Host)
AKA The Old Man.

When killed by him, you are met with this rather creepy image of his face, with it looking like it distorts as it stares into your soul.

While it looks like there isn't much, if you freeze frame on some of the distortions, you get some rather disturbing images.

Explanation? When killed by the old man, you see the true effects of the possession of Specimen 12: immortality until death. The old man cannot die, and has strange distortions of his face that show some of the aged features behind that frozen-in-time face. The old man can only be laid to rest once it has been killed by someone, allowing the mansion to possess whoever the killer was.

Evidence? When the face is distorting during the deathscreen, we see spots on his face, and his mouth looks ripped in one of them. The body SHOULD be decaying, but because of Specimen 12, the body can't, and the face keeps changing back to it's original look. So how does a new host get chosen if natural-death can't kill them? Murder. The notes found throughout the mansion were written by the old man before he was possessed. After being in the mansion for a bit, he realized that the mansion was messing with him, and he was sick of hiding. He decided to go kill the man who kept chasing him around and making him hide. So, that's what he did. He went and killed the old host. But upon doing so, the mansion then took control of his mind, turning him into the new host, and halting his ability to age.

Something else interesting about the Old Man is that he was actually a vlogger before his death. This is shown through a group of notes found in endless mode written by a vlogger. The vlogger mentions how he found "a cool Sickle thing in a 'tree'" (the sickle also being mentioned in the final note in Specimen 12), how he went through "a school of sorts and...some kind of in house restaurant" (referencing Specimen 4 and Specimen 11), and how he found a mansion to rest in, as seen in his final note which reads:
Well readers, I think I'm
near an exit. I found another mansion
like area. I feel really tired so
I'm going to take a break here.

This directly matches with the first note found in Specimen 12, which also mentions the Old Man thinking of Specimen 12 as being some kind of "resting place".

One final thing that should be noted is that the only reason the mansion doesn't control you in the end is that the old man parries your axe swings with his sickle. This seems strange, as why would the mansion, in control of the old man, try to stop you from killing its host, if that's the only way it can get a new one? Well, what if the old man, despite being controlled by the mansion, still has a little bit of humanity left; enough humanity to make the choice to parry your axe swings? It would potentially explain those distortions, with them showing the bits of the old man that still remain within his possessed body. While it probably doesn't mean much, it still is something interesting that could give us more insight into the old man's relationship with its possessor.
Specimen 13
AKA The Siren.

When killed by this specimen, you are met with her beautiful fake face as she slowly drags you underwater, before revealing her true face as everything fades to black.

What's interesting about this specimen is that most of her lore resides outside her own deathscreen.

Explanation? Long ago, during one of the great floods of the earth, which are often called a 'Deluge', Specimen 13 was just a normal women, before the flood came upon her as she was living her life. Since then, she has roamed the earth for many moons, killing those unfortunate enough to fall for her siren song. Eventually, she ended up in a whale researching facility after a whale she was inside was transported there. Sometime after the whale was found dead in the facility, Specimen 13 killed all the staff working there.

Evidence? To know about how Specimen 13 died during the great flood, we first have to look at her Cat-Dos entry. In her Cat-Dos entry, it mentions how she died tragically during the 'Deluge'. Now, if you attempt to look up the Deluge, you'll find information on either some book called the Deluge or information on a series of wars in the 17th century involving the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth. However, if you look up the Deluge in the context of the great flood, you find out that Deluge is also a name for the 'Great Flood' myth, which refers to those mythological stories of giant floods destroying civilizations. This could mean that her 'tragic' death was most likely an unexpected one, in which she was just living out her life like any other before a great flood swept her away and killer her.

Now, how she became a siren is not known, but it could be that during the flood, she lost her eyes due to something destroying them while she was drowning in the water. This is evidenced through her deathscreen and her ingame model. Her model, just like in her deathscreen, has black eyes, meaning that the black eyes in her deathscreen aren't there to just scare you, but instead are meant to showcase the fact she's blind. It would also explain why she never jumps up on the crates you get you, even though it shouldn't be too hard for her to just look up and see you standing on the crate. She most likely uses your sounds and echo-location to get you in the water, but when standing on a crate, she isn't able to grab you as she can't see where you are on the crate. Her ability to use echo-location would also help explain how she is able to even sit on rocks and crates in the first place.

She most likely fed on mammals, as seen not only in the notes describing her eating whales but also in the fact she goes after humans too. She most likely ended up in GL Labs after they summoned her and the abandoned whale facility.
Monster 1
AKA the guard guy.

Going to be honest, I don't have any ideas for this guy. He shows up in hospital, and in one hallway. He doesn't show up in endless, or have a deathscreen, so honestly there isn't too much going on with this guy.

However, there is one interesting thing about him that makes him not completely loreless. It involves the Virus, a minor entity found in the basement area of Karamari Hospital that blocks the path.

When the Virus is destroyed, whether through acid or the sword, Monster 1 dies as well. It's interesting to note because Monster 1 can be killed before the Virus, but the Virus will still be there blocking your path in the basement. I think that maybe the Virus created Monster 1, and can create as many of them as it wants until its destroyed. It would also explain why the Virus and Monster 1 have similar body colors, and why Monster 1 looks and walks strangely.
Monster 2
AKA Body Bag.

This monster doesn't have a deathscreen to analyze, but it does have hallucinogenic messages that appear everytime it hits you.

One of them is: "Why did you leave your soul behind?"

The other one is: "The worm feeds from you."

Both of these message directly relate to what happens during its chase in Karamari Hospital. During the chase in hospital, you gain infinite stamina and have to escape from this weird place with tons of body bags. The message "Why did you leave your soul behind?" implies that your soul is separated from your body during the chase, which is why you have infinite stamina. Your body, after 'leaving' the morgue, is left outside it, while your soul is transported to Monster 2's chase room. This is where the other message comes in. The phrase "The worm feeds from you" refers to the fact that your body is left without a soul outside the morgue, and is vulnerable to being eaten by worms and bugs, as without a soul, it has no life within it. Monster 2 is attempting to take your body by killing off your soul, so your body can be added alongside the other body bags.
Monster 3
AKA Baby Head.

So this baby thing is kinda strange as it switches between looking like a baby and looking like this:

Yeah, looks pretty strange.

While I don't really have any comments for it's glitched out form, I will say that this baby head is most likely symbolic of mistreated children. It is shown to be wailing all the time, and is shown always being trapped in it's box, glitching out along the way. This could be representative of children who are always boxed up; trapped in a place they don't want to be. While it has cool symbolism, because it doesn't have a deathscreen, I don't have anything else to say about this monster.
Monster 4
AKA Bandage Face.

[THIS SECTION CONTAINS SENSITIVE TOPICS, SPECIFICALLY ABOUT DEPRESSION, ITS EFFECTS ON THE MIND, AND HOW IT CAN LEAD TO SUICIDE]

Monster 4 probably has one of the more darker backstories in the game. When killed by him, you get this deathscreen:

Explanation? Monster 4 was a man who took his own life because of his depressed state. In fact, you can see his hanged body in the room before his chase starts. His depression took over his mind and caused him, like others who have lost the battle for their minds against suicidal depression, to kill himself. He most likely attempted to lessen his depression by ripping at his face, similar to how some people with depression will cut themselves to lessen the pain caused by life events and a lack of serotonin in the brain. Ghost Cow (Monster 5) most likely helped worsen the depression by potentially influencing Monster 4's self-harm and suicidal behaviors, and making the doctors not give him the proper medication needed to help him with his depression.

Evidence (Death Message)? Let's start by dissecting the death screen message before going into the background imagery and other information.

The first sentence, "Dark worms scream inside my brain" refers to the parasitic nature of depression, which will cause you to become pseudo aware of your actions when under it's influence. When depression takes over, it puts you in this state where you think you are being yourself when doing things such as harming yourself or attempting to take your life, when in reality, it is something else entirely making you act outside how you normally act. Monster 4 refers to depression as 'dark worms' in this sentence, with these 'worms' hijacking his mind.

The next sentence, "Begging me to eat again", continues the idea of the first sentence in that your now depression-controlled mind is telling you to ease the pain of life by harming yourself. While one could interpret this sentence as literal eating, it could also be interpreted as the mind needing self-harm in order to satisfy itself. This is what I personally think this sentence is trying to say. Monster 4's depression was making him hurt himself, with it telling him to 'eat again' (self-harm) in order to satiate his mental anguish.

The third sentence, "Hearts, and blood, and bile, and soil", refers to if you make good moral decisions, you will often feel less pain and suffering. However, it also refers to how depression can cause your good deeds to seem fruitless, and make actions that should nourish you and make you feel better appear as if they are only making other's lives worse. This conclusion was made not from the literal definition of what hearts, blood, bile, and soil are, but of their symbolism. In the context of this death screen, the heart symbolizes moral decisions, the blood symbolizes pain and suffering, the bile symbolizes disappointing results from fruitless efforts, and the soil not only represents the creation of man (Adam), but in certain cultures can represent nourishment and destruction. This might shine a light into some of Monster 4's life before his death. He lived doing good things, but depressing thoughts led to him believing his acts weren't helping anyone; that he wasn't making other's lives better, but worse off.

This leads to the final sentence, "I must consume to end turmoil". This sentence refers to the act of killing oneself, and ending one's own life. If eating symbolizes self-harm, than the act of consuming, which as seen by Specimen 4's definition means eating something whole, symbolizes the act of suicide. Monster 4's death is his attempt to end his pain and suffering by 'consuming', suicide. It should also be noted that the end of the sentence says "end turmoil" and not "end the turmoil" like most would think. This is purposefully done to show that turmoil, in the eyes of Monster 4, wasn't seen as one thing, but as everything around him. He saw everything as turmoil, and therefor the only way to escape all the turmoil around himself was through death.

Evidence (Death Images)? Monster 4 has a lot of unique images in the background of his deathscreen, that give more lore to his character and backstory.

This first image shows the words "I MUST CONSUME" in the background. As stated in the death message explanation, the word 'CONSUME' here refers to taking one's life. However, there is one other message in the background that is much harder to see, slightly about the 'M' and 'E' in 'CONSUME'. The message in the background, "I AM NOT A DOUBLE", refers to the fact that there will never be another person just like you. This message shows the fact that going into his suicide, Monster 4 was fully aware that when he died, there would be no one quite like him, and that he was killing off a one-of-a-kind person.

This second death image has text hidden in the top-left corner, which reads "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE LOOKING FOR?" While this could be seen as a joke by the developer for those who are over-analyzing his death images, it can also be applied to Monster 4's self thoughts. Since all the messages in the deathscreen come from Monster 4 himself, it could be possible that the quote refers to Monster 4 asking why people would care enough about him to look for his hung body.

This third picture shows what looks like some kind of strange rounded and bumpy object, with a message behind it that reads something that looks like "THEY NEED ME TO FEED THEM I HAVE TO CONSUME OR ELSE". This refers to feeding the depression through self harm, and potentially other harmful behaviors people tend to "consume" when depressed, such as taking bad drugs. This could have partly been why he ended up dying, through taking too much medication not just from the mind controlled doctors, but also from his own depression consuming him.

This image has two images combined into one. For this section, I'm going to focus on the QR code, as the text in the background on the right actually has connections to Ghost Cow. The QR code, when scanned, takes you to the quotes section of lifehacks.org. Since this QR code can only be seen through editing, it could be that the QR is Monster 4's real self, the part not being controlled by Depression, that is trying to get life advice that could save his life. Of course, he is overtaken by depression, but it does show that his premature death was not what he wanted.

This last image is the most interesting of them all. This image has a picture of a family in the background. It can be assumed that this is Monster 4's family, the family who raised him before his death, as seen through the similar skin tone of Monster 4 and the family in the background. The background family photo could be representative of the loved ones who are effected hardest by the loss of someone who commits suicide. Monster 4's family most likely was devastated by his death, being that they were probably the ones closest to him in his life.
Monster 4 (Continued)
(Author's Note: Monster 4's entry was so long I ended up reaching the limit for the section, forcing me to have to make a new one).

Evidence (Ghost Cow)? While not obvious at first, Ghost Cow was involved in Monster 4's death.

As discussed when talking about the death images, this message in one of the death images references Ghost Cow. While it's hard to make out the full sentences, there are a few phrases that can be somewhat made out:
"THEY ARE IN M"
"CONTROL ME"
"PLEASE KILL M"

The first and last one can be interpreted as:
"THEY ARE IN MY HEAD"
"PLEASE KILL ME"

Monster 4's suicidal messages in the background are very similar to those of some of the hospital staff, who also refer to something in their heads, controlling them and making them act irrationally. This shows that Monster 4 was also not just under the control of depression, but Ghost Cow too, who was most likely strengthening the hold depression had on Monster 4. It should also be noted that Monster 4 and Ghost Cow both have the same distorted noises in the background of their deathscreens, further proving that they are connected in some way.

One final piece of evidence showing Ghost Cow was involved in Monster 4's demise is his effect on the doctor who were supposed to be helping Monster 4, Dr. Hamada. Dr Hamada has two notes which I will list below:

The patient in both of these notes could be Monster 4. Not only is this seen through the mention of the patient being depressed, but the doctor also mentions the patient is constantly "screaming and expressing terror", which could be referencing Monster 4's roar at the beginning of his chase theme. The doctor mentions how he hasn't been giving the patient the proper medication needed, and is giving him hallucinogenics, which is only worsening the depression of the patient. The doctor was under the effects of Ghost Cow, who was making him act irrationally and forget his own unusual actions. This poor usage of medication lead to Monster 4's condition worsening, most likely leading him to have stronger desires to end his own life.
Monster 5
AKA Ghost Cow.

Ghost Cow (Monster 5) is a very interesting character, being that he is based off Mad Cow Disease. When killed by him, you get a screen with a brain and the following message:

One thing that should be mentioned about this deathscreen, before explaining it, is the mystery of the last sentence. Every sentence ends with a period except for the last one, which appears to be missing a word. If you take the first letter of the second word of each line, you get the word "forget". This completes the meaning of the last sentence, which says "Your tendencies have allowed me to make you forget."

The word 'forget' actually helps to explain not only the lore of Ghost Cow, but the lore of Karamari Hospital as a whole.

Explanation? Ghost Cow's deathscreen explains his effects on those he possesses, as seen in the effects he has on the Hospital staff. He took over the minds of the hospital staff, making them act irrationally, with some dying to their own insanity, or abandoning the hospital altogether. He is the reason Karamari Hospital went to ruin.

Evidence? Each sentence can actually be tied to either notes written by the hospital staff or to things Ghost Cow does to the player.

The first sentence, "Your fear allows me to enter your mind", is very interesting as no doctor directly mentions being afraid. However, the strange things happening at the Hospital could have caused the doctors to feel fear. For example, Dr. Tochigi found a patient's liver on his desk, and Nurse Tanaka mentions in a note, "Something sinister is beating on the wall of my subconscious", directly referencing the fact she feels some evil presence within her. It might be possible that the fear caused by Ghost Cow's influence on the doctors only heightens Ghost Cow's effects on their minds, making them more powerful and causing the doctors to behave even more irrationally.

The second sentence, "Your obligation allows me to control your hands", refers to Ghost Cow being able to control the doctors through their sense of urgency. The doctors are obliged to help their patients, but Ghost Cow causes them to neglect their responsibilities; hurting their patients instead of helping them. There are many examples in the notes, but the most obvious example is seen in Nurse Tanaka's second to last note, which reads:
It wasn't me..
I swear it wasn't.
It may have been my body and my hands,
but I know it wasn't me.

This is a direct reference to Ghost Cow's making Nurse Tanaka hurt people instead of help them by controlling her body and hands. Of course, she's not alone in this, as many other doctors also experienced similar problems.

The third sentence, "Your reason allows me to break your eyes", may seem a bit strange as there aren't really any mentions of eyes or such. However, while this isn't very much seen in Karamari Hospital, Ghost Cow's effects on the eyes are very much present in his endless mode chase. During this endless mode chase, your screen is surrounded by a red ring that goes in and out, with all the walls turning into the prison-like bars from the Isolation Room chase. This endless chase showcases Ghost Cow's influence on your eyes, making them see things that aren't really there.

The fourth sentence, "Your guilt allows me to loosen your neck", refers to how the doctors often felt guilty for something bad they believed they did, even though they were being controlled by Ghost Cow. A good example of this comes from Nurse Tanaka, who mentions how while driving to work, she brutally hit and warped the body of a cat, which plagued her mind throughout the day. She felt guilty for something she didn't do, just like many other doctors who had acted out of character when performing surgeries.

The fifth sentence, "Your expectation allows me to hide the truth", refers to how those effected by Ghost Cow almost never figure out what's causing them to act irrationally. Every doctor in the Hospital, with the exception of Nurse Tanaka, didn't even realize something was controlling their actions. The only one who figured it out was Nurse Tanaka, and not even she really knew how to properly deal with it, believing that dosing her head with radiation was the key to stopping herself from being controlled.

The sixth and final sentence, "Your tendencies have allowed me to make you forget", summarizes Ghost Cow's main feature of making people forget about their actions. Every doctor and nurse mentions committing actions they don't remember doing. From cancelling medication, to taking someone's liver, the doctors seem to be completely shocked by their own actions, never remembering their own strange and life-ending orders. Those who do eventually remember and become self-aware, like Nurse Tanaka, end up killing themselves in an attempt to prevent themselves from becoming possessed.

There is one last interesting thing about Ghost Cow and Karamari Hospital that should be mentioned. I always found it strange how Karamari Hospital seems to have barely any connections to the mansion and lore of the main game other than a note at the end of the Karamari Hospital campaign talking about Spooky. However, I think Karamari Hospital is part of the mansion because it might have been the hospital where Spooky died. After all, it would explain why her father has notes here, and why Spooky most likely didn't survive the gunshot. The hospital staff, who were still under the influence of Ghost Cow, were unable to perform the surgeries needed to save Spooky, leading her to die without proper medical care.
Monster 6
AKA Bekka.

When killed by Bekka (Monster 6), whether through her infinite hall in Karamari Hospital or through her door ambush in Endless Mode, you get this deathscreen:

Her name and deathscreen are a reference to Rebecca Black's song Friday. Not only does Bekka look like Rebecca Black from the song, but her nickname in the files being 'Bekka' is a clear reference to Rebecca. Her death message, "Don't get up before Saturday", is a clear reference to the fact that Saturday comes after Friday, so 'getting up' before Saturday would mean waking up sometime before midnight (after going to bed Friday), which is when the Friday evening parties are happening. Other than being a reference, she doesn't really have much else going for her, other than a cool chase theme in endless.
Husks
AKA Baby Dolls.

When killed by the husks, you get this creepy close-up of their original design, with a static overlay and text (which have been removed for a higher quality image):

The text that goes with this deathscreen reads:

Scarlet burning holes are placed into the skin
and flesh rebound into an unfamiliar form.
Molded into something new, the husk reshaped
into a skin more accepting of the howling void.

Explanation? The deathscreen refers to how the husks were created, and how the husks aren't very suitable for more powerful spirits such as Spooky.

Evidence? The first sentence refers to the creation of the husks. The "scarlet burning holes" are the burnt-looking holes on the chest and right eye of the husks, which were placed in order for spirits to be able to inhabit one of them. Of course, putting the burnt-looking marks into the husks changed them from some normal doll into a more creepy and disturbing form.

The second sentence refers to what kind of spirits are able to inhabit the husks. The new empty husk, as stated by the deathscreen, is now "more accepting of the howling void." I think that the "howling void" being mentioned here are the weaker and more simple spirits, most likely demonic spirits that are not very sentient and only seek to harm those who summon them. Their ability to hold only simple spirits would also explain why Spooky couldn't last long in them: she needed a greater vessel.
Woormy Charles
AKA Long Boi.

When killed by Woormy Charles, you get this deathscreen:

Since the text is kind of hard to read in the deathscreen, this is what it reads:

Form within form writhes and pulses.
Skeletal sinews stretch outward from
beneath the skin wrapped around it.
It pulls until the skin's elasticity
fails ultimately. From these small holes
the tendrils of bone finally escape.
You are finally free of this constricted bag of flesh.

Explanation? The deathscreen shows us your character's body being stretched, presumably by Woormy Charles, until bone shows, allowing it to be free of your body. Woormy Charles does this in an attempt to help 'save you' from your body, since Woormy Charles doesn't want you to suffer being trapped in a body that doesn't fit, even if you aren't really in any need of saving and you will die in the process of being stretched.

Evidence? The "form within form" mentioned in the first sentence refers to your skeleton within your body, with the next two sentences referring to how your body is slowly being stretched out until it breaks open. The second to last sentence refers to how after streatching your body so much, holes form in it that allows bone to go through. The last sentence, directed from Woormy Charles, is basically telling you that your skeleton is no longer trapped in your body, as your body has been overly stretched out, allowing the skeleton inside to break free.

Woormy Charles isn't really doing this because he's evil per-say, but because of his own pain and suffering from being in a body that doesn't fit his spirit. He keeps attempting to stretch out, but it's never enough, as seen through his own note, which states his pain and suffering of being in a body too small. Woormy Charles, out of a misunderstood anatomy of other beings, wants to make sure others don't suffer by freeing them of their bodies, which inadvertently causes their deaths.
The Clown
AKA Easy Endless Chase.

The least dangerous entity that can chase you in endless, and honestly I love it when he chases. He was summoned as a "happy human ghost" to help appease the dolls, but he ended up not being exactly the spirit they were expecting. Whatever he is, he isn't harmless, and appears to like posing for others. It should also be noted that although he "looks human" and "acts human", it's confirmed he didn't come from hell, but, as the devs put it, he came from "somewhere else". But since he's harmless, he doesn't really have a deathscreen. Overall, there isn't really much info on him other than that one note left behind from a lab assistant talking about his summoning.
Hooked Doll
AKA Reverse Specimen 6.

When killed by the Hooked Doll, you are transported to some kind of hallway from the root cellar, as hooks are thrown at you, as seen in this video:

The text is very long and hard to read in the deathscreen, as it flashes rapidly. Here is the full message for easy reading:

A 'wicked nasty' child was thrown into a pit.
No food, light or water was ever given to it.
Punishment was dealt, without mercy or hesitation.
As if justified by faith, or ownership from creation.
It was no righteous act, it was hellish, demon sent.
Eventually all will find out, in eternal torment.

Explanation? Hooked Doll's deathscreen calls out those who mistreated her, and their punishments they'll receive as a result. She was just a normal doll, but whenever she didn't act the way the scientists wanted, they had hooks put into her, because the scientists didn't really think of her as a person of worth. As a result, she became more and more restless, requiring scientists to put more and more hooks into her to keep her from acting out. Eventually, when she became too strong for them to contain, she killed anyone in the root cellar by coming for them when she sensed they had their eyes on her.

Evidence? The entire story in the deathscreen correlates what happened to the Hooked Doll.

The first sentence talks about a "wicked nasty" child, with "wicked nasty" in apostrophes, showing that this "wicked nasty" child wasn't really nasty, but rather considered nasty in the eyes of those who hurt it. This can be seen in the note of one of the GL Labs assistants, which states:
These spirits get so temperamental, we keep having to perform
rituals to keep them in check.
When they act out it's necessary to inflict pressure on the husk
inhabited by the spirit.
Don't forget that these dolls are not real people.

The lines "Punishment was dealt, without mercy or hesitation" and "As if justified by faith, or ownership from creation" refer to the lack of guilt the scientists had for harming the doll, as seen in the final line of the note, "Don't forget that these dolls are not real people". The 'punishment' dealt was the inserting of hooks into the doll, as seen in the note when the GL Labs assistant mentions inflicting pressure into the doll.

The last two lines sum up the pain of Hooked Doll. She describes her treatment as "no righteous act,...hellish, demon sent", and that her persecutors will suffer "in eternal torment". This ended up being what happened to one of the workers who was involved in making her suffer. He kept seeing her, and to prevent her from attacking him, he bore out his eyes. Ironically, he even admits to his cruel actions, saying "Is this our punishment for denying death? I've only ever followed orders." While it may seem brutal of Hooked Doll to throw hooks into people, she didn't do it for no reason, but out of revenge for those who mistreated her, and thought of her as just 'some doll', with no feelings or thoughts of it's own.
Frenzy
AKA The Embodiment of Insanity.

Frenzy is a very interesting character, as she only appears when the doll has low spirit energy, and can get you whether you are holding the doll or not. As long as that doll's spirit energy is low, Frenzy can come after you in 4 different rooms. When killed by Frenzy, you get this deathscreen:

Explanation? Frenzy is a guardian of sorts for the doll, who attacks you for abusing the doll. While her relation to the doll is unknown, it can be inferred that she is very close to it. She is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the doll from being overly abused, even if it means attacking or killing you.

Evidence? Frenzy's deathscreen, while being only 4 short sentences long, has a lot of meaning in it to decipher.

The first sentence, "Frenzied torment, distorted Mind!", refers to the torment you gave by shaking the doll. By shaking the doll, you are seen as having a "distorted" mind by Frenzy, who attacks you because of it.

The second sentence, "Blood to spill, bones to grind!", refers to how Frenzy is going to make you bleed and grind your bones with her blade.

The third sentence, "The flesh it takes for time to wind", is extremely confusing, but I do have an idea of how to interpret it. It could be seen as Frenzy talking about how it'll cost your life to let the heal doll. This can be interpreted due to the fact it says "the flesh it takes", meaning that it will cost somebody's flesh or life to "wind time". The "time to wind" could be seen as referring to the doll healing up from the constant abuse, so it can be seen thus as Frenzy 'taking away' your flesh so that the doll can heal.

The fourth sentence, "Eye for eye makes all turn blind", basically states how Frenzy is simply doing her duty in making you pay for hurting the doll. The "eye for eye" part refers to how Frenzy attacking you for every time you shook and hurt the doll to heal yourself. The "all turn blind" part refers to how even after taking damage (getting attacked), you will still abuse the doll to heal yourself, showing how the pleasurable healing effects of the doll blind you to the damage you are doing to it.
Unknown Specimen 1
AKA White Face.

To explain White Face (Unknown Specimen 1)'s lore, I'm going to actually just put the entire chase, deathscreen, and second chase, since they are all important to the explanation:

Everything shown in the video are all references to the game IMSCARED, which is where White Face originated from.

Here are all the references, ripped strait from the Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion Wiki:
  • Its starting sound is very similar to the track playing in the "Not to see" room from IMSCARED.
  • The breathing sounds playing in the later portion of this track are also reminiscent of similar breathing sounds found in the Market area of the game.
  • The mechanic of Unknown Specimen 1's chase, alongside the static sound it produces, is similar to several of its chases in the original game, where a similar static sound will get louder and louder the closer it is to the player.
  • Unknown Specimen 1's game over screen is similar to a scene where it teleports the player to a pitch-black room with a noose, with the entity slowly approaching the player while talking to them.
  • The second chase room is reminiscent of the flesh room where the Heart is located in IMSCARED.
  • Unknown Specimen 1 prompting the player to type in something is a nod to the original game, where at certain points it asked the player to type in its name. Typing the wrong name will close the game, which is also true for Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion.

As stated by the devs, White Face doesn't follow conventional rules and travels whenever and wherever he wants. It might be that when the Hellgate was opened, it lured White Face to the mansion, with White Face bringing along its powers and abilities from its main realm. This could mean that White Face can travel between dimensions; either that, or IMSCARED takes place in the same realm as Spooky's. It is also possible that the Hellgate can summon beings from other dimensions, being able to rip White Face from his native one into the Mansion.

Of course, this could just be the devs referencing IMSCARED and nothing more. Either way, this Specimen is just a giant reference, more so than any of the others by a long shot.
Unknown Specimen 2
AKA FNAF REFERENCE REAL?!?!?

In all seriousness, Otto the Otter (Unknown Specimen 2) is just a joke specimen. When killed you get this hilarious 'jumpscare' of his face with pizzas falling:

Otto was literally created to get back at all the FNAF fans who were begging Akuma Kira to make a FNAF-based specimen. Otto's slow, not a threat, and overall pretty goofy. I also find it funny that he chases for a set 19 rooms, which is quite random and adds to how ridiculous he is. Other than being a FNAF reference, there isn't much to this guy other than being an incredibly great joke specimen.
Unknown Specimen 3
AKA Spooper.

Ah yes, the one entity everyone dreads to get in endless, other than Endless Ringu. When killed by Spooper (Unknown Specimen 3), you get this chilling deathscreen:

Explanation? Spooper's deathscreen describes the spore-ridden world you get transported to upon hitting Spooper the final time before his chase starts. When killing Spooper, he infects the next several rooms with spores, in an attempt to impregnate you and create a new Spooper. Spooper is basically telling you in his deathscreen that by entering his spore-ridden realm, you will finally have a purpose, and that when you're killed, you will enter the 'land of dreams', that being heaven, a place where all your fantasies come true as long as you die and leave your physical body behind.

Evidence? The first sentence, "Beyond that door is another world", refers to Spooper's spore ridden realm you enter after destroying his ghost boy form, where the walls are all yellow and disgusting. This message could also be hinting towards heaven, with the entrance of heaven being referred to as a 'gateway'.

The next two sentences, "A world made of dreams..." and "A world where all your fantasies have come true", change the location from Spooper's realm to Heaven. Heaven is often seen as a place where you are truly happy, where 'all your dreams come true'. Spooper is basically telling you that by entering his realm, and letting him impregnate and kill you, you'll get to leave your now infested body and instead move on to a better place where your dreams come true.

The second to last sentence, "A world full of everyone's sick fantasies", has the same meaning as the previous 2, but also shows a bit about how Spooper feels about your death too. It shows that Spooper envies being able to enjoy the joys of heaven; being somewhere in which all HIS fantasies come true. This is why he says, "everyone's sick fantasies". He is frustrated that he can't ever escape the death and rebirth cycle he is forever trapped in; one in which he is killed by the unknowing adventurer to progress, before making said adventurer the host for his new body by impregnating them with the spores he covers the rooms with.

The last sentence, "A world lusting to include you", refers to heaven, but mostly back to Spooper's spore infested rooms. It basically has a double meaning. The first one refers to how in heaven, common Christian belief teaches that God wants everyone to do good so they can go to heaven, making a world in which God and his angels are "lusting to include you". The second, and more implied, meaning is that Spooper wants you to join the rest of the fallen victims in his spore-infested rooms. Thus, his world that is "lusting to include you" can be seen in a semi-ironic sense, since the people who want you to join them have all fallen to Spooper and are already dead.

It should be noted that at the end of dollhouse, Spooper appears blocking the tram after you've shut down the spirit seal and facility is about to self-destruct. While it may seem strange at first, it reveals something interesting about Spooper: Spooper's true form isn't so much the body itself, but the spores that infect the rooms. Spooper still appears whether or not you close the Hellgate, meaning that at least Spooper's body isn't connected to the Hellgate. However, it could mean that with the Hellgate shut, no more spores will be able to be created, meaning the Spooper blocking the door is one of the last ones that is going to live. Spooper knows you are going to attempt to take down the mansion and that without someone to infect, he's going to not be able to infect another person. So, Spooper attempts to make sure you go down with him and the mansion by blocking your path so that the explosion from the mansion self-destructing kills you.
Unknown Specimen 4
AKA Tirsiak.

When killed by Tirsiak (Unknown Specimen 4), you see yourself slowly get mauled by wolves in a snow-covered forest.

Explanation? Tirsiak most likely weakens you by freezing up your body until it can't move, at which point she transports you to her home forest, where she feeds you to her wolves.

Evidence? The big question is how I came to the conclusions she is freezing up your body. Well, in the cutscene where you are eaten by wolves, you don't start seeing red on your screen until AFTER you're already being attacked by wolves, meaning Tirsiak couldn't have hurt you through bleeding you out. It also doesn't make sense the she hurts you with her hands or mouth, as both don't show signs of being able to deal much damage. However, it could be possible that she is causing your body to freeze up due to the fact that in the cutscene, if you really aren't bleeding out already, why aren't you able to use your sword or axe on the wolves to defend yourself? It would only make sense that the reason your character can't move is because their body is frozen, making them unable to defend themselves or run away.
Unknown Specimen 5
AKA Lisa.

When killed by Lisa (Unknown Specimen 5), you get this unnerving black and white picture of her face with bugs crawling out of it:

The screen also flashes with a multitude of colors, with text that says:

You cannot dream without darkness.
You cannot wake without pain.
Tear off your foolish disguise.

Explanation? Lisa was most likely a human who died at the hands of her husband. She then haunted her husband, giving him nightmares and causing him pain, until he was forced to own up to his guilt and kill himself.

Evidence? My evidence for this mostly come from the story of Lisa from P.T. Lisa in P.T. was shot by her husband, who killed her and the rest of his own family, before hanging himself. With the context of P.T. in mind, it could be possible that this deathscreen helps tell us a similar story experienced by Lisa from Spooky's.

The first sentence, "You cannot dream without darkness", refers to how Lisa's husband, after shooting her, was haunted by her spirit, who would give him nightmares everyday. The second sentence, "You cannot wake without pain", refers to how Lisa's husband most likely was given physical pain by her in his sleep, causing him to wake up with pain everyday. The last sentence, "Tear off your foolish disguise", refers to Lisa trying to get her husband to own up to his faults, to stop covering them up. After killing his wife, Lisa's husband most likely attempted to 'pretend' it didn't happen, to sweep it under the rug and just live life as if nothing ever happened. Lisa's spirit, however, haunted him until he gave into his guilt, and paid for his crimes. After giving into his guilt, Lisa's husband most likely killed himself out of shame, just like P.T. Lisa's husband did.

It should also be noted that Lisa writes notes to the player before her chase begins. While a lot of them are just creepy for the sake of being creepy, one of them interesting states that Lisa has been "watching you for a while". Now, as to why Lisa would be stalking us, it could be that she has been watching your actions, watching you kill specimens in order to stop them from killing you during your endless runs. She sees in you what she saw in her husband, and comes after you due to this belief.
Minor Entities
For the minor entities, I'm only going to talk about the ones that have some kind of potential lore I can create a well-thought out headcanon for.

Class Shadows
A cool thing worth noting about the shadows is that they are representative of different genders, such as male, female, and non-binary. It should also be mentioned that these shadows aren't just illusions but actual ghosts, as they represent ghosts in the true ending. In the context of Specimen 4's school area, it could be that these are the ghosts of the victims of Specimen 4, who were eaten and then trapped in the classrooms of the school.

The Brain
Ah yes, the mysterious brain. The brain is very interesting as not only is it one of those unique deaths only YOU can cause, not anything else, but it also seems to have some connection to Spooky as well, as it can give you the code to the out-of-order machine with Spooky's backstory.

Well, the room containing the brain has several blood splatters, as well as several pieces of machinery resembling those in the room with the Cat-Dos. Now, who the brain belongs to is beyond our knowledge, but I have a good headcanon theory on who's it is. I think it belongs to Spooky's Father. Perhaps when he died activating the seal chamber, while his body was unable to move anymore, perhaps his brain, while not functional, was still alive. It could be that the GL Labs workers, in an effort to preserve it, trapped it in that tube in the mansion. It most likely kills you due to being infused with the same liquid found in those tubes that housed Specimen 3, which most likely turned the brain into some kind of monster. It would also explain why the brain, when approached past room 900, gives you the code to Spooky's backstory, which would only make sense if the brain belonged to someone who knew it, such as Spooky's Father.

Clicky
While we don't know too much about Clicky, there are some things we can guess based on where she appears. There's a note in the first room you encounter her in, telling the story of a little girl who shoots her dad and gets sent off to a mental facility. It's possible that the spirit possessing Clicky is the same as the kid who wrote the note. It would help explain why she just crawls on the ceiling and makes clicking noises, since both are things that a childlike spirit in a doll would most likely do.
Scare Chair
AKA previously known as Monster 7.

A very interesting character indeed. The Scare Chair, as it's now called, has a lot of unique properties about it that set it apart from the other minor enemies. Due to this, I'm going to first discuss what the chair does in it's two interactable appearances; those being the Karamari Hospital DLC and Lost in Vivo. In the second section, I'll discuss its deathscreen found in Karamari Hospital, and what it means for the entity.

Where the Chair is Found and What It Does
Karamari Hospital DLC
In Karamari Hospital, the chair can be found in one of the rooms in the hallway containing Monster 1. In Karamari Hospital, you are able to sit in the chair. When you first sit down, you see particles fall from the ceiling, followed by a line of blood between the door and the chair, and finally with you seeing flashes of some strange unknown face. The screen, after long enough, goes dark for a bit, before you are suddenly kicked out of the chair and left with some mysterious dark figure in your place. Without the sword, there isn't too much to him; he just sits there, looking like he isn't sure if he wants to physically be there or not.

Lost in Vivo
The Scare Chair appears during Tape #4 in Lost in Vivo. It appears within one of the rooms of the Hotel. After sleeping in the chair, you find yourself surrounded by bugs everywhere, with yourself also becoming a bug, and the room looking very disgusting, with the face from the hospital showing up in a painting. When you make your way back to the reception desk, you are ambushed by some cowboy-looking guy who charges at you, ending the tape. This doesn't mean much by itself, but when combined with previous evidence helps create a coherent story for the Scare Chair.

Deathscreen Explanation
If you decide to use the sword on the shadow-like man on the chair, he will vanish, allowing you to sit on the chair again. However, as you sit in it, you will suddenly hear loud screaming, before the screen cuts to some kind of desert wasteland.

Explanation? The Scare Chair has the ability to transport those who sit on it long enough to different dimensions, with it being transdimensional and being in every one imaginable. When you sit in the Scare Chair, you start being transported, but someone else interrupts the process right before it finishes. When you kill them and sit back down, you are transported to another dimension, one in which you are unable to breath the air and die of oxygen loss.

Evidence? We'll start by dissecting the deathscreen before explaining how the chair is transdimensional. The first sentence, "You awake in a wasteland not meant for you", refers to the fact that you were transported to another dimension. Clearly, you aren't meant to be here. The other three sentences refer to how your body is being contorted and twisted in this new realm, with the foreign air trying to fill your lungs, which is what ends up finishing you off.

While you're sitting on the chair, many mysterious things happen. One of the common features of the chair, as seen in both the Karamari Hospital DLC and Lost in Vivo is the presence of a strange face, one that's white with some kind of triangle on its forehead. I believe that this face is the spirit of the chair, and is the one who helps give the chair it's transdimensional properties.

The shadowy figure in Karamari Hospital that kicks you out of the chair as the screen starts blacking out most likely interrupted the procedure, as it was probably attempting to use the chair to travel too. By killing it and sitting back down, you allow the process you started to finish, allowing your character to be warped to another dimension. In Lost in Vivo, something similar happens. When you decide to sleep in the chair, you give the chair time to transport you to another dimension. This time, it's in a bug-infested version of the hotel. This helps show that the chair not only takes you to another dimension, but that the chairs are in the same locations across dimensions. This means that technically, it's possible for your character in Spooky's to enter Tape #4 from the same chair. However, it's unknown how the chair chooses the location, as there isn't really any explanation on how to choose where you want to go. It's almost as if the spirit possessing the chair is choosing the place that in its eyes 'best' fits you.

It should also be mentioned that although the chair appears in the Nightmare Sequence in the Dollhouse DLC, this is actually just meant to represent that chair that Spooky's Father sat in before having his PTSD attack and shooting Spooky, and not the actual Scare Chair.
Non-Entity Related Deathscreens
This section is focused on covering the the meaning behind deathscreens that aren't attached to enemies, but rather other forms of death that are usually your fault. All of these deathscreens are, coincidentally, from the Dollhouse DLC.

Barbed Wire Deathscreen
If you are so inclined to touch the barbed wire blocking the Garden area, you will be met by this deathscreen. There is nothing to really decipher here; it's simply the game telling you that you are a fool for having touched the barbed wire, knowing it would hurt and would kill you if you kept touching it.

Electric Barrier Deathscreen
If you touch the electric barrier in the Great Hall while it is turned on, you get this deathscreen. The almost impossible to see text reads as:

ELECTRIC TETHERS TORN FROM SKIN
GASEOUS BLOOD ESCAPES WITHIN
BONES BEGIN TO BURN AND SHAKE
LEAVE THE BODY THAT YOU FORSAKE

The deathscreen basically says that the electricity from the fence has caused your body to overheat, to suffer internal bleeding, and to have it's bones burn and break. After your body is electrified, you soul leaves (forsakes) it, feeling ashamed at having died such an embarrassing death.

Furnace Deathscreen
If you decide to touch the fires of the hot furnace too many times, you'll be met with a fiery background, with the text onscreen at first saying "YOU ARE A FOOL", before switching to the actual message:

THE BURNS BOILED AND GROW UNTIL THEY BURST INTO TINY HOLES
OF WHICH THEY COULD FINALLY CRAWL OUT
INTO THIS WORLD.
YOU HAVE BECOME THE GATEWAY.

The deathscreen basically describes the way fire spreads, and how your body is now the vessel the fire is using to spread further outside the furnace. The first sentence describes how as you touched the fire in the furnace, it eventually caught onto you, slowly burning your body and creating "tiny holes" within it, allowing the fire to burn up your insides and spread everywhere else. This helps explain why the second sentence calls you "the gateway", since you have allowed the fire to escape.

Self-Destruct Deathscreen
If you fail to escape GL Labs after completing the nightmare sequence, you get this disturbing image of a human exploding in flames, with the death message:

YOU'RE FORM BECOMES AS TINY DROPLETS
OF CHARRED WITHERED FLESH

The meaning of the deathscreen is that your body has been burned to pieces, leaving only pieces of charred flesh in the remains. It should also be mentioned that the incorrect use of "you're" here is actually a reference to previous misuses of "you're" in other deathscreens.
The Hellgate
The Hellgate: the thing responsible for summoning all the Entities that haunt the Mansion. Now, there's several questions that arise when talking about how the Hellgate works. How were the Specimens, who were 'found' in certain areas throughout the world, summoned by the Hellgate. How did they get trapped in Hell in the first place?

Here's my theory: the entities have always roamed, and were tracked to or summoned from their locations. The entities have most likely roamed the earth since they were created. When the Hellgate was used to 'summon' one, it most likely helped either pinpoint their location, tell the GL Labs workers how to summon the it, or transported it and their home alongside it. After her father's death, Spooky made the mansion, and buried under it the Hospital, which some of the entities she tracked down were living in, and the Dollhouse, which she connected to the Lab where Specimens and other entities were tracked downed and summoned. This can be seen in the way some of the Specimens were found, like Specimen 6 being found in a random river; the way some specimens were summoned, like Deer Lord being found within a test-tube filled with Violent Deer; and the way some specimens were transported, like Specimen 13 and the entire whale research facility. It could be possible that when Specimens were found in the wild, the Hellgate somehow transported their locations into the mansion too.

Figuring out how things are summoned using the Hellgate is no easy task, and it's possible that my headcanon is far from the truth. But, this is the best I can come up with.
Specimen 9 in Dollhouse
Specimen 9 makes a surprise appearance in dollhouse if you attempt to use the escape tram before shutting down the spirit seal. In HD Renovation, he just kills you, but in the original game, he has a unique deathscreen, as show in this video:
The game doesn't really specify why he shows up here, but it might be because the escape tram doesn't work if there isn't a reason for it to leave. It seems that the escape tram was only designed for emergencies like a self-destructing building. So, when there are no emergencies, the tram doesn't function properly and gets stuck. Since you're now stuck, and there is no way to go back, you are now basically going to eventually die. Specimen 9, now seeing you as a dead body since you're trapped in the tram, comes to TAKE you.

It should also be noted that Specimen 9 gets a slight redesign here, appearing to look closer to his boss form, with a more rounded head. It could be that while you were exploring the Hospital and Dollhouse, Specimen 9 was gaining more form from the dead bodies he's been killing, making him appear closer to his boss form.
Conclusion
CONGRATS! You made it to the end of my guide. I hope you had a good time reading through all my researched-based headcanons on what the deathscreens could mean and who the entities are. Although I put a lot of effort into this and wrote everything here, I didn't do it alone.

I would first like to thank my friend JerryP7a, who not only helped support this project, but helped chat with me when I was brainstorming and deciphering some of the more cryptic deathscreens. I honestly do not know how I would have been able to keep my sanity when trying to decipher some of these deathscreens without him.

I would also like to thank the Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion Wiki community, for all the images and information uploaded there that were used for this guide.

I would also like to thank the developers of Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion HD Renovation, specifically AMGSheena, for helping confirm and clarify certain things about the Deathscreens and Entities.

And finally, I would like to thank you, for reading this guide on all my thoughts on the deathscreens and entities. I greatly appreciate you reading through this really long guide.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading my guide, and have a great day!

I know the "Into the sea" cipher is a reference to "The Lovecats", however the actual deathscreen is also a reference according to Sheena, but I don't know exactly what. But I do know Sheena said the entire thing was more of just a reference.

What song was it?
Secret Flag  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 8:02am
I did originally have a headcanon for it, but I removed it because honestly it's more of just a song reference, and in retrospect I had to stretch really far to come up with something for it.

Bit late, but I wanted to ask for your headcanon of the secret deathscreen message in dollhouse beyond the walls and maze. The one that starts with "Pillars of molten twisting flesh", thanks!

I haven't seen much theories about this game and I'm so glad that I got to read this, I love all of your headcanons and some even made me change my perspective towards some of the specimens, thank you so much for writing this guide Secret Flag! :hgveryhappy:

Doesn't the "eye for an eye makes all turn blind" line refer to how the idea of an eye for an eye will just cause everyone to be hurt? Great ideas otherwise, I was looking for something like this for a while and it made a really good read.

Nice and very possible theories! I have a feeling that Spec 11's binary death screen message "Believe in God, but question the teachings of men" could have another meaning as well, however: "Believe in God" could refer to the fact that had the restaurant managers followed God's first and foremost commandment, i.e. not to worship/pray to anyone but Him, neither the managers nor their customers would have fallen into Spec 11's trap, while "question the teachings of men" refers to people who say things like "believe in/practice whatever you want; all religions are the truth/are the same/ lead to God eventually": the restaurant managers did not decide to question this manly teaching and then decided that no harm would befall them if they prayed to Food Demon.

One thing I have to mention is that: The tram shuts down because Specimen 9 is slowly making the tunnel smaller (like in that one room from the main game)

Otherwise: These are really neat headcannons about the deathscreens!

also wdym specimen 1 doesn't have a deathscreen? I died my first time I saw him! ...Irl/j

The red chair is just a prop, aka a reused asset for the nightmare sequence. On the Halloween Spooky was shot, the father was sitting in his chair before he heard somebody at his door. The chair in the nightmare represents this, having no connection to the red chair from Hospital.
