The 'Big Boy', officially known as the 4000 Class, is an articulated steam locomotive built by ALCO and delivered to the Union Pacific during 1941 and 1944 to haul heavy freight trains over the Wasatch mountains in Wyoming and Utah. During revenue service, they proved to be a successful design, and were also used extensively over Sherman Hill in Wyoming. However, with the advent of dieselization, all 25 units were retired by 1963, with 8 being donated to various museums across the United States.

In 2014, the UP announced it would restore Big Boy X4014 to operating condition, to be part of its steam program. In 2019, the restoration was completed, and the locomotive has been operating ever since.

This mod group is features a handful of Big Boys: X4000 (the first one), X4003 (featured with prominence in some films), X4005 (was temporarily converted to oil burning; suffered a crash), X4014 (was restored in 2019), X4019 (was temporarily equipped with smoke deflectors) and X4023 (from the second set of orders).

The locomotive mods have articulation, a custom whistle, and optional smoke deflectors, toggled with Shift+1.
The locomotive's tender also has a handful of features, such as glowing lights, toggled with Shift+1, a coal load with Shift+2, and a converted oil tender with Shift+3.
It might not be entirely accurate, but I am pleased with the result, and I hope someone else can have fun with it.
