Troubleshooting
So you used a 90% off coupon to buy Hamilton's Great Adventure for $1. You installed the game, tried to start it, and it doesn't work. At all. No matter what you do whether it be rebooting your computer, deleting and reinstalling the game, whatever, the only thing Hamilton's Great Adventure does is give you a "Do you want this program to make changes to your computer?" message and that's all it does. Game never starts. Never gives you an error message either. It doesn't do anything!
Likely Culprit
When you install Hamilton's Great Adventure, it also installs software called Physx that it requires to run. I'm no computer expert or programming genius so I have no idea what is causing the problem exactly. I do know enough that the most common problem for Hamilton's not starting deals with this Physx program. Looking into the issue, it wasn't too long ago that certain builds of Physx were problematic and caused a lot of headaches for people.

In my case, after I installed Hamilton's Great Adventure, it corrupted Physx on my computer so badly, I couldn't install the latest version of Physx. The installer would crash immediately!

The fix
Here's the step by step solution I used that both allowed me to fix my borked install of Physx and get Hamilton's Great Adventure to finally work. My OS is Windows 7 64-bit

1: go to http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html and download the latest version of Physx.

2. Click Start -> Type CMD -> Right click on CMD from the result -> Click Run as Administrator
Run the following commands one at a time and press enter to execute:

cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem

for %i in (*.dll) do regsvr32 -s %i

for %i in (*.exe) do %i /regserver

3. Close all windows and reboot the computer

4. Once restarted, run the physx installer. If given the option, uninstall physx.

5. Run installer again and install the latest Physx

6. Try running Hamilton's Great Adventure again.
Thank You Section
I wouldn't have been able to fix Physx and Hamilton's Great Adventure without running into the following thread:

extra big thanks to that Simtechray guy.
In Closing

Thanks for this guide! Managed to get the game running on Windows 10, with no issues so far.

Kinda dumb that I need Nvidia software to run a game when I have an AMD card, but whatever.

Yes, my guide was written before Windows 10 ever existed. The game not running at all is a very common problem. Developer has obviously abandoned game and won't fix it themselves. As far as I know, the game still has and attempts to install a corrupt version of PhysX that is so broken, that it will run and lock up so hard you have to do special tricks to even be able to uninstall it.

Given the game actually starts and runs for you, you obviously don't have that problem. I'd say try tinkering with compatibility options. If you try running the game as an older version of Windows, it may run properly for you.

If you need a reference on how to do this, go to http://www.windowscentral.com/how-make-old-desktop-apps-run-again-windows-10

My OS is Windows 10 and I have followed the instructions. Despite doing it right, the Physx installer tells me that I have the latest version of Physx and installation quits. In other words, I have the GTX 1070, and it seems like I didn't really need to uninstall Physx at all. No compatibility is required. The only problem I get for now is just no sound, but I found the solution that fixes the 'No Sound' issue. I guess this guide is only used for Windows 7 and/or 8 users.

But thanks for making the guide by the way. I'm happy to own the game after using a 90% coupon yesterday.
