Beskrivelse
Camp #008 is awaiting the order to evacuate. Several years later, it still hasn't come. Stranded deep in the Rockies, inhabitants old and new face frostbite, hypothermia, and an unseen threat deep in the wilderness. Can the quarantine still protect them?

rp_desolation

An update of Turtleey's map rp_isolation.


  • A large winter themed environment.
  • Various outlying farms, homes and buildings.
  • An inner and mainly walled-in city.
  • Most interiors are enterable.
  • Stormfox 2 compatible.
  • Full AI Noding.
  • Full Navmesh.
  • A secret research bunker.
  • Decent performance (150 FPS min - 300 FPS max).
  • Most if not all content packed.


This map supports Stormfox 2 as a replacement to the func_precipitation snow that was in previous versions, I recommend only using night however day does work with negligible skybox issues.
I also recommend Fumble Footsteps if you dislike the default snow walk sound.

HL2 (And Episodes), CSS and L4D2 are highly recommended, but are not required.
Any errors are most likely user-error as a result of conflicting/too many mods installed simultaneously.

Map must be played in HDR


The .vmf of this map has been embedded within the maps/thumb folder under rp_desolationvmf.png, change it to rp_desolation.vmf to gain access.

This map is causing a glitch that causes rocks to lose their textures. Please fix.

do you think you could add cubemaps? it requires hdr and all but i can't see much with purple reflections on a third of the map

Yup there's a ghost in the map, its a remnant of a cancelled source feature code-named "T4K3IT"

Ghost in Desolation?

:p2aperture: I was trying to record and all of the props in the map kept flinging and fell everywhere and is following me... i would hear a little girl breathing and screaming in the house... then all the sudden the windows shattered and then i saw a figure outside the window! then it was gone!? i crapped my pants when i saw that! then i finally decided to quit the game to just say to myself "Heck no i'm not making a video about this map!" and now here i am making a post! What a baby i am LOL T_T :p2aperture:

Good map but one issue, There's missing texture reflections that probably needs to be fixed
