i made this to use with this mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/halflife2episode2/mods/4?tab=description. but you can still use it in ep2 if you want gordon to somehow still have the mark4. for this mod i took the hands from the glock view model and rigged them to the hl2vr hands. i also upscaled the textures and added custom detail textures as a small touch. i want to try making a replacement mod that replaces the hl2vr weapon models with some of the once from bm. i can't say for sure if i will or not. anyway enjoy

hello , have you had any luck with the mp5 and the revolver ? i see they were talking about it in 2023 ?

See my below comment and the linked mod, it seems like it would be very possible to port BM's MP5 over, or really any model replacer for any HL2 weapon, since most of the behavior appears to be determined by the model, rather than code.

the reason i haven't uploaded the revolver is that i forget. Bill Cosbys tried to finish the mp5 but that has been a nightmare for him, i tried take a look at it and still couldn't fix it so we have to start from scratch so we don't know how long that will be bu we're gonna try to finish it at some point and get it on the workshop.

Also what about the MP5? I think with those 3 guns the game will feel more like Black Mesa, the MP5 is definitely the gun that sees the most use throughout the game I think so I'd say it's fairly important, I already suspected that porting the more advanced and unique weapons wouldn't be easy or possible until HL2VR goes open source but stuff like the pistol, revolver and MP5 should be doable even if it's just a reskin of the MP7 with the BM's MP5 sounds.

Basically the only weapons that need code access to implement are the satchel, hive hand, snarks, tau and gluon right? (Crossbow is an exception since the HL2 one is hand load while the HL1/BM one is magazine fed) Everything else seems to have an equivalent in HL2.
Also, it would seem weapon modding may be a bit more flexible than you might think at first, see this mod (https://gamebanana.com/mods/408730) for an example of both changed magazine position, hand poses, and adding a working scope like the crossbow, all without code changes. Seems a lot of it is just controlled by the models and animations so much of the standard weapons may be possible to implement without code access.

well me and Bill Cosbys are working on that so far we've got the glock, and revolver done the glock is able to be downloaded but not the revolver. and we can't add allot of the weapons from bm until the sdk for hl2vr comes out.

Thank you so much for making these! They add just enough of the HEV suit to remind me I'm wearing it, and they look fantastic.

Do you know how I could get these to work in the HL2VR and EP1?
