Controls for shepherds crossing pc

The controls of this version of the game are not explained until a certain point and they are kind of hidden. I have gone through trial and error to figure them out. I mostly want to make sure that no one else that bought the game for peaceful nostalgia would have to worry that they wasted their money because they were having a hard time which keys were connected to which function.

To move you can just use the arrow keys. WASD does not work for this game.
Picking up and dropping items
Use the A key to pick up items. It also works to advance dialogue. Use the B key to drop items. It also serves as the back button.

Use the X key to flip through your tools. you can see that it is working in the top right corner. To use the equipped tool use the Y key.
Advancing the day
To advance the day press the space bar and the shift key at the same time. This control is the reason I decided to share the controls, figuring that out was a little frustrating
Don't change the Key config
Once you advance the day to Dandelion 4, you can cut down the grass blocking the house. You can then enter using the A key once you walk up, and will then be able to find the key config. It will be in Japanese first so you will have to scroll through the languages. This will allow you to look at all the key settings but don't adjust them. I did so and now the combo keys are not working. I am working on figuring it out, but have no luck yet.

Advancing the day does not seem to work at all for me. I have not changed any of the keys settings, I do not even know how to if I wanted to

My friend said that some key inputs (example: shift, space) doesn't work after changing key configs.
Do you know how to fix this issue?
