In truth you can't really MISS this quest, do it by accident and forget to follow the little guys.

1 You gotta befriend ALL the previous encountered Grimalkyne tribes in order for this quest to show.

2 Check the completed Critical Bounties and start looking at your Palico's special equipment and google which ones are missing for you. That's how you'll know in which stage of "Cultural Exchange" questline you're in.

3 Search for the Lynian Researcher on the world map and start tracking the tribe, go back to him at the village every time you finish and you'll get more Cultural Exchange quests until you finally get the Boaboa's one. And don't forget to talk to that old man anytime you find him on the field, he'll certainly give you some clues of your quest.

4 After you catch up with all these you'll finally get the quests to investigate the Boaboa tribe.
