Official Keen statement from the art team
Figured this was important enough that it was worth sharing in the everlasting battles with Clang/Klang

My question:
Hi

Im looking for spesific information that isnt clearly available in the documentations provided.
im asking about the following information:

1. The 1x1 angle slope is 45°, what exact mathematic angle is the 1x2 slope, stair and ramp

2. What is the exact base offset of a piston

3, What are the offsets for rotors to be flush with the grid

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks for posting, it's a huge help when playing with rotors and pistons!

yeah, this has been such a timesaver,
Also there appears to be some flex in pistons, so say your stacking 4x pistons in a cross to make a "stronger link", they should all be facing the same direction to avoid them giving phantom forces trying to push or pull inwards/outwards..
(Example, all 4 facing up instead of 1 up, 1 down, 1 left, 1 right

Many thanks for providing this :)

This makes me very happy, not only for obvious reasons, but also because it corroborates my empirical measurements (repeatedly adjusting by trial and error then checking alignment by eyeball).

My estimated LG piston min distance: 2.34
actual (2.5m - 0.158463): 2.341537

My estimated LG piston max distance: 9.840
actual (10.0m - 0.158463): 9.841537

so in both cases, I was 1.537mm off...

And I still got Klang XD

Thanks for your reply, no proof needed as I trust you plus I'm sure with the your smarts you could prove to me that the Earth was flat. :steammocking:

I know right!

You would have thought that they would make these values.. standard? Like why not just make the models so 0.1 aligns to grid
