Introduction
To be able to buy hats, you have to free Hattori, the living Hatter Hat, from his custody.

Buy a rat Key for 50 shells on first floor, or 115 shells on second floor. And free him when you enter a NPC door !

Different kinds of hats
Now you are able to buy hats, you have to know that there are 3 different kinds of hats.

1- The ones you can buy with , whenever you want. They all have to bo bought to get the achievement Man of Hats.

2- The ones you can buy with , but you have to unlock them by completing secret tasks (Hattori doesn't seem to want to sell his product.... They all have to bo bought to get the achievement Man of Hats.

3- The ones you have to unlock by completing secret tasks. However, they can't be bought, so they do not count for the achievement Man of Hats.

Buyable hats to unlock (count in Man of Hats)
Here is a list of those few hats that need to be unlocked a certain way to be available in the Hat Shop ! Of course, you'll have also in spoiler how to unlock them !

Note that once you've met the requirements so the hat is being sold in Hattori's Shop, you may have open the Ammonomicon to let items join the Adventure !

To be able to buy this hat, you have to buy all skins sold by Snails. To buy them all, you have to spend 1150 hegemic credits.

To be able to buy this hat, you have to buy the skin "Beastmaster" for the Huntress. Then you have to exit the gungeon with this outfit. Then speak a lot with Snails. Untill he keeps spamming the same voiceline. Go in the gungeon again. Go back to the Breach and Snails will be transformed as a cap. Again, keep chatting with him. Go in the gungeon again. Go back to the Breach. And then, it should be available for buying !

To be able to buy this hat, you have to buy the skin "Adventurer" for the Bullet. Then you have to exit the gungeon with this outfit. Go back to the Breach. And then, it should be available for buying !

To be able to buy this hat, you have to buy the hat "The Box" . Then you have to exit the gungeon with this hat. Go back to the Breach. And then, it should be available for buying !

Note that you are able to do it several times. So You can try another time if you missed the Villain.
Don't trust Ser Manuel, he's a liar... He cannot delete your save...

Once you've set Hattori free, talk to him in the Breach. Here is your gift. For FREE !

The Beast

Once you've escaped once from the Gungeon, speak to the left guard in the Breach. He'll talk about a secret mode only for veterans ! Go in your setting, in the "Game" menu and set the Beast mode.
Then escape again and talk, again, to this guard. You're know able to enable the Best mode LEVEL 2.
Repeat...
You'll be awarded The Beast Hat and The Beastmaster Achievement.

Beat the Dragun 5 times ! You'll also get the Achievement "The Last Boss".


Hats from killing the Glocktopus

Once you beat the Glocktopus with a Gungeoneer, you'll unlock a specific hat.
7 Gungeoneers, so 7 hats to get.

For me the Miter hat didn't appear until Red's quest was fully completed (the point where he gives you the Baby Good Shelleton).
The Old hat didn't appear until I had fulfilled the requirements for the
Green No More achievement (Aced Just Dessert Golf).

The Queen costs 20 hegemony credits and is unlocked by finishing Winchester's bets after the bar is unlocked (by talking enough to the Drunkard)

I don't believe the despot is required for the achievement, though I haven't unlocked it yet. I'm pretty sure the only one I have yet to buy is "The Corn".

Yeah, I'm really not sure what triggered it. I think you're missing "The Old"? Great guide though, it's helped me a lot with some of the hats I missed.

Actually, when I spoke to Snails, I already got the skin and escape with the huntress. And when I spoke to Snails he said me "you unleash the Beastmaster, you monster" or crap like that xD
I may have to reset my game to try again and test myself xD

I got Snails to turn into a hat and sell me "The Dog" somehow. I don't have "The Beastmaster" outfit for The Huntress nor did I exit the Gungeon with it. Maybe he sells it to you if you talk to him enough? I'm not sure.
