Reason - default brightness white bleed
If you look at image below you know right away what I mean.

Solution - don't stick with default brightness
To better tune brightness to your monitor and black/white limits follow brightness guide in game.
Results may vary depends on monitor brand and contrast/brightness on it too. You might not even see any checkboards on my screenshots. But I do see them.
Rec. 709 - Color Space profile
By default Color Space profile selected is sRGB.
You can change it to Rec. 709, which at hand looks a lot darker, but brings bit more color depth and saturation.
sRGB vs Rec. 709 (+4 Brightness)[imgsli.com]

You can see the difference slight difference in color on Chair and Carpet Redness.

The nature of Rec. 709 is quite dark on its own, I use it with +4 main brightness, on sRGB is 0.
Output dynamic range
To see the 0 Black and 255 White, you have to go to your Graphic Card settings and change from Limited to Full, gives you 0-255 range on Black and Whites.

AMD and Intel also have those tweaks.

If you never used full range before, you will start to see things you don't want to outside of games, like things on JPG images and their artifacts.
