When getting an empty scroll for the first time, one may think it will only be useful as toilet paper. That thought can't be more wrong. The game gives you clues on how to use them. So if you don't want the mystery of their true power spoiled, skip this guide!

Firstly you need to even find an empty scroll and a quill to write in it. I will provide some ways to find empty scrolls at the end of this guide. For now, let's assume you already have at least one empty scroll and a quill.

So, Why is the scroll so powerful? Because if you write the right things in it, you can instantly get one item from a long list including some powerful ones, or instantly learn a spell regardless of your affinity with their associated god or your soul type.

1) In the first verse always write: "O LORD".

2) The second needs to be "GIVE" for getting an item, and "TEACH" for learning a spell.
3) Write the name of the item or spell you want.

4) Profit.

1) The accessory "White Angel soul- You need to write it as "WHITE ANGEL". When you wear it gives you double agility, grants you first-move priority, and most importantly gives you an extra turn. You can even mix it with the skill "En Garde" for 3 extra turns at the start of the battle.

2) The spell "Combustion"- It is a powerful attack that inflicts burn damage and on top of that it costs ZERO mind.

3) The weapon "Claymore"- A big sword that does big damage (+80 Attack and 10% Bleeding, if you curse it, it goes up to +100 Attack). It is two-handed of course, so you can't use a shield with it.

4) The spell "Healing whispers"- Heals your entire party for about 28 to 41 body (The wiki only said "some health" and from my test that is the range more or less.) It cost only 30 mind and normally you would have to have max affinity with Sylvian to learn it, but with an empty scroll and belief in Alll-mer in your heart no affinity is needed.

5) The "Gaunt plate armor"- You need to write it as "GAUNT ARMOR". A big chest armor that prevents a big amount of damage (+60 Defense and 50% Slashing damage reduction.)

6) The accessory "Black witch soul"- You need to write it as "BLACK WITCH". When you wear it gives your normal attacks a 100% chance to inflict poison. It is especially good for boss battles as they tend to have lots of health making the damage over time very efficient.

***Remember that these are only my suggestions and some of the other options maybe better for your build or situation.

• You can get one Empty Scroll from Iron Shakespeare if you use the "Steal" skill on him.
  
• There's always a guaranteed Empty Scroll in Nosramus' cave, on the table. It is west of the Mines.
