This guide is to provide as much information to benefit you guys so you can enjoy the game straight away rather than play it a few times.

This guide is slightly outdated but every bit of information is still relevant to the game and its design, only outdated due to not having tips/information for newer additions such as growing, bleed systems and new weapons, I will try to update in the future but at the moment I don't have time to do so.

What this guide is about
The guide is split into different sections so you can just skip to the ones you want, anything and everything said here isn't what you'll experience but it is a majority of peoples so take that as you will.

Frequently asked questions

What is Ghost of Tabor
In a simple term rather than doing a copy and paste, this game is a love child between Pavlov and Escape from Tarkov.

How will this guide help me?
This guide isn't here to give you a objective or anything like that, but something to expect when getting into the game to then be able to give yourself goals and objectives.

What version is this guide for
This guide is currently for Current Update
Safe house (updated)
To start, the safe house is the only well and truly safe place for you and your gear, your best bet is to treat it as well as you can, organise everything you can so you can thrive in the mid and late game.

As of right now some of the rooms don't have uses so you won't be able to go in and check them but in the future they'll add stuff to these places and make it so they have a use to us all.

The layout of the room is very similar to a circle, nice and easy to see everything from the centre so you know where you are going.

Trade room

This room is where you'll spend maybe 20% of your time in, if that's selling, trading or buying preset equipment you've set up from being in the market, you'll have basic storage in this room, highly recommend keeping bartering goods here when the update gets rolled out in the future.

Med room

This room is where you'll store most of your medical supplies in the future, right now I don't believe it is currently open so keep that in mind.

Armory room

The armory room will be your main storage of ammo, mags, guns, clothing, etc. you can store everything here if need be but its better to scatter the storage to other rooms so its all a little bit more tidy and a hell of lot less cramped.

Power room

Here in this room will be the main location for the bunkers generators you can use them to power lights so you don't have to use a flashlight on your gun or in your hand to see everything, but you'll need to find fuel from raids and bring it back so you can start the generator.

The shooting range

This is your best friend, you can come here to test your weapon skills or practice different ways of using them, if that's from setting up a gun stock, trying to get your aim a little bit better its always a lot nicer to have a place to go to test your skills even if its on none moving targets.

Radio room

Currently the radio room isn't in use

The vault

If you have stacks upon stacks of cash, here you can see it all in front of you rather than just a number, depending on how much you have in the wallet it'll show you on the shelves in this room as a physical pile of cash.

The barracks

This is your main rest room with basic storage, store what ever you want close to you, if thats your favourite rifle, clothing or special items like Graphics cards, here you can store it and make the room feel a little bit more personal.
Weapon systems
Weapon platforms is a way of determining a weapons use, reload and ease of use, the 4 most common types are on this section.

There are 4 main weapon platforms which will be refereed to M4, AK, Bullpup and pistol

M4 platform This weapon system is commonly known for allowing rail mounts, sight mounts and fore grips straight out the box and doesn't need additional modifications to allow these attachments to be used while you can add more stuff to it for adding more to the weapon its not really needed but its there to be used in case you are wanting more bang for your buck on a weapon, this type of system also uses a charging handle located at the back of the gun unlike the AK system.

AK platform This weapon system is much harder to use as it doesn't allow modifications right away so you'll have to find mounts for the gun before you are even able to put stuff on the gun these rails mounts can be used to put sights on the gun, though some AK systems do allow this feature right away it'll be harder to get to those guns as they are high end that can only be earned through loot rooms or trader progression, this systems reload style is a under arm reload which is reaching the charging handle on the right side of the gun than the M4 style which is a charging handle at the back.

Bullpup platform This weapon system is very unique, depending on if the devolopers add bullet drop, this system should be the most effective for longer ranges including Close Quarter Combat, it'll have the magazine feed into the back of the gun rather than what is commonly found on the AK and M4 systems, this system has a mixture of guns that allow you to put attachments on and some you can't at the moment such as the L85 this has rails just like most of the M4 systems while the AUG doesn't have rails just like some of the AK systems, Bullpups are a mix between the two types.

Pistol systems Handguns are a mix of styles, you'll have some with mounting rails and some without, the main ones I know of that allow modifications out of the box is the glock 17 which allows you to put a sight and a under barrel attachment for either a fore grip, laser sight, flash light or angled rails.

Lootables
This section will explain my personal tier listing of loot with the intractable boxes you can find around the map including some hidden caches that I have found with playing the game over my play time.

To start off this section is unfinished and will be adjusted over time but each box I will open 10 times and record what I get, in no way will this indicate a accurate representation of whats inside the boxes, but it will give a heads up on what you can find.

Ammo boxes This containers are widely found in both maps, these will give you a random ammo box to take home with you, but In the 10 I've opened to add to this the 3 most common ammo types I found were
1. 5.56x45mm Which is used on in M4A1, Galil, AUG, L85(SA80).
2. 9x19mm Which is used on in MP5, MP40, Glock 17
3. 7.62x39mm Which is used on in AKM

The long boxes are primarly going to hold a handful of items which ranges from junk items, attachments, mags and guns themselves so I'll have 2 categories here for guns and attachments including mags on the attachment list.

Attachments/Magazines
1. Angled rail mounts - These are great for either having a secondary sight on the M4 platform guns like the M4 and L85(SA80)
2. AKM and AK-U Magazines - These mags are different but I found one or the other most of the time.
3. Kobra Sight - this sight is the normal sight with green holographic with a piece that curves over the top, very cheap but effective.

Guns/Weapons
(UNFINISHED)

Small wooden boxes, these boxes will generally hold food and water as well as junk based items with the rarer times a attachment either a fore grip or sight
1. Food bars
2. Sights - Mixture of sights, 2x-4x as well as kobra.
3. Water bottles

This is a small polymer box, I've found a wide variety of low, mid and high end gear in this, from junk items, to small arms magazine to grenades and smoke grenades.
(UNFINISHED)

Long Polymer box, just like the long wooden boxes these will look similar but these will have higher tier loot for example assault rifles, snipers, etc. As well as higher tier attachments and junk items.

1. Famas
2. Sights - Mixture but in these I found 2x holo sights and a sniper scopes
3. MP5s

Lockers are a huge profit most of the time you can find these scattered across the map and these can either hold higher tier weapons or low tier, it depends on how lucky you are.

1. SKS
2. Galil
3. Junk items

Large wooden box, these will only hold one item and it will either be a vest or helmet, I won't tier what I found here as these can be extremely random but 90% of the time it will be a vest in these.

Largest wooden box, these will hold 2 items almost every time but just like its smaller version some times it can have absolutely nothing but I found more helmets in this one than the smaller version so these green ones are the way to go if you are wanting to gear up quickly.
Store prices
There is more to come on this PDF sheet, but at the moment all the weapons and attachments are here, soon I'll add armor, helmets, ammo types, damage, cost effective kits etc. This is all in the future and should be done within the next 3 months from 19th of July 2023

Tactics
This section will give advice and actions using different types of Tactics, including ways of maximising your advantages using these tactics in game.

1. Ambush Tactics

Ambush tactics are a military strategy where attackers surprise their enemies by launching a sudden and coordinated attack from a hidden position. The goal is to catch the enemy off guard and gain an advantage. Ambushes are carefully planned, choosing a good hiding spot and waiting for the right moment to strike. When the ambush is initiated, the attackers use surprise and overwhelming force to quickly disable the enemy. A successful ambush can cause confusion, disrupt the enemy's plans, and inflict heavy damage. It requires careful planning, timing, and coordination.

Having someone with you can help make a kill zone within the ambush, this means if you are both aiming to the same location such as a footpath while in different locations it will normally form a triangle or square kill zone, this just means that you won't end up shooting each other accidentally unless you are facing each other.

2. Flanking Manoeuvres

Flanking is normally used to finding a way to get to the sides or rear of your targets, normally used when the enemy are in a defensive positions but you can use it to your advantage in a firefight, using grenades or smoke to cover your flank or to help you flank the enemy.

To maximise your potential using this its great to keep a grenade to distract the enemy if they don't know you are there, if you don't kill them with the grenade you can bait them into looking a completely different way from where you threw it from, this'll give you a way of flanking behind or to the side of them.

2.5. Suppressive fire

Suppressive fire is a tactic that able to completely destroy all formation of your target, if they are in a group or on their own, this will render their ability to fire back useless, having people with you on your team is also benefit with this tactic.

Suppressive fire is throwing a ton of bullets down range or in this case anything to be exact, grenades and bullets to maximise the advantages of this you'll need a group as you can have them flank while the enemy is pinned down and unable process the situation effectively, this is very good for a mix match style.

(Moving element is the flanking group and Support element is Suppressive fire)

Addons to the game
Physical Stocks/Tubes

Like most VR FPS titles such as Pavlov, contractors population one, etc. Ghost of tabor also allows the use of Gunstocks or Guntube depending on which you've heard first, this means not only do you just point your controllers and shoot but you'll get to have a physical stock or tube helping you aim better and more accurately rather than having to painfully hold your arms up to snipe someone for 5 minutes.

Wearables

This part is arguably one of the best sections of this, while scrubbing every inch of the games files I've found this game will allow the use of a B haptic suit, this a suit that have tiny little motors in it to indicate a feel through VR this meaning for a game like this, depending on where you are shot if its on the torso you'll feel a vibration in real life sent from the game to indicate where you had been shot from so for example if you are shot in the upper right chest area, the closest motor will vibrate that area to simulate this feeling, but that not the best part, Bhaptic doesn't just make suits a select few of other companies do too but at the moment of writing this only Bhaptics has been integrated into the game.

Webstore for B haptics, will add more to this if other companies have theirs intergrated.

Tips and tricks
Early game tips

I find that using stock(un-upgraded) guns are terrible so I an very early on gun I normal go for is a AK with a rail system with a sight, to me this absolute destroys unarmoured people as well gives me time to line up shots when ever I need.

Setting out locations for loot in the base, such as using the draws on the ammunition bench for my ammo boxes, mags or grenades, even trader loot for future stuff, really good to have stuff planned out as you have everything you need in a location you know where it is.

Always bring back attachments back from raids, you will never realise in the early game as its not something you are thinking about right away that some of these attachments can be unlocked at the start such as magnified holographic sights or scopes, these are a life saver if you find them in raid.

I find that getting a steady stream of money at the start is a great way of generating income for mid game and late game guns, you can get income from raids by finding high tier gear or stuff like Crypto wallets, or even GPU, these 2 times are great for money but the Crypto wallet can sell for 150-150,000, its a dice roll so if you find one think about getting out of raid ASAP.

Mid game tips

With the mid game, you should have a good stock pile of guns, ammo and other assortments so you need to start thinking about bringing different types of ammo, by this Im not meaning go with a 7.62mm or bring in a 50.cal but I mean start using ammo variants such as HP, AP, FMJ. HPs are great for unarmoured, AP are great for armoured but not so much for unarmoured, FMJ are a middle ground. excels at both.

Finding a weapon you are able to truly use, don't be afraid to experiment, my weird gun choice is a M4 with a vertical grip on the side of the gun and a holographic sight with magnifier.

Bringing in newer gear, this can go from new types of armour or even a new bag, just something to help bring in more profits and help with taking a shot or two, even bringing in more syringes can help.

End game

In this time, I find making kits to run with is a great way to keep the game enjoyable such as making a kit for a light character with a SMG, having a heavy kit with a LMG or even mix match kits so bring in a assault rifle with a sniper.

At this point you'll notice that people will start bringing in their high end kits so you need to adapt with this, I'd recommend having a few grenades with you so you can get rid of the people who think they are marines with a fully kitted out mutant AK and all that.

General tips

If you are getting annoyed at the game, take a break, go have a chat with a friend and come back after, it helps make the game not seem boring as well.

Finding people to play with also helps, this can be a huge difference between playing on your own and with someone.
Ending of the guide
This is the end of the guide you are now officially... well unofficially prepared for the wild, I hope this guide has helped you set some expectations of what you'll find out there and how to start in the big world of Tabor, all I can say is relax process the information and have a drink of Blackpowder Coffee, and I'll see you in raid Ghosts.

This is the first guide I've put effort and time into, it was be amazing with the help of you guys if you could rate this guide and make it the first guide to reach a rating for this game on steam i'd be over the moon, I'll always being adding to this guide so come back and check it time from time, if a new map comes out I'll make sure I'm the first one to add it to the guide if its either loot spots, bug locations or caches you can count on me.

Future of the guide
I want to make a excel or a table for each item in the game if its guns, ammo, mags, attachment, etc. and do a written down cost to sell or buy as well as which shop sells it for cheap or which one buys it for more.

I also want to make a tier listing for gun and attachment classification in the future that could help identify rarity and sell pricing.

I'd also love to go more into depth over the armour system in this game that will also include how much damage each ammo will do, FMJ, AP, Tracer and all that.

If you have anything you want to add, pop me a message here or add me on steam and we will get it added to the guide, as well as a credit to you on the guide for helping to further improve it.

To the nakeds:

Shouting "I'm unarmed" or "I have nothing" won't help you. As a player who normally runs with mid-tier gear, all that says to me is if you *had* a gun, you'd be shooting at me. "I'm friendly" doesn't help either--the kill missions for Minty and Spectre are the fastest way to level up. I don't care whether you're friendly or not, you're *competition* and the only difference is that unarmed or naked players are less of an immediate threat.

If you want to make friends, an extraction shooter isn't the place to try it. If you need raid buddies, there's an official Discord server where you can go to find teammates. If you need friends...I hear Animal Crossing is lovely this time of year.

Thank you for the guide!
If there's something I'd love to see, is maybe mapping out parts of the map and how much loot there is in it/how much high quality loot in it. For example on the Island there are parts with great loot (like the huge white building) and sometimes it's small and eh (church)
