About Stukov81-T.TV
I am a tiny streamer who has created some custom goodies for XCOM 2 using the tools other modders have created. I am sharing some of my ideas thanks to the encouragement of FearTheBunnies and the MEME Discord

About This Mod
This Mod does a few small things. Have you ever been mildly annoyed that the Pharmacists Stimgun looks and shoots exactly like a pistol? I have but have not known how to change it really. The famous RustyDios showed me the way so this is the result:

  • The Stimguns now have a custom inventory icon

  • on the soldier they look like a medikit

  • and when applying the stims it uses the animation of ABAs Drone Heal Beam

Required Mods
Iridars Tools Weapon Skin Replacer and Template Master make it possible for a notmodder with no coding abilities. DerBK provides ABA with the needed animations and the mod would be useless without the Pharmacist Class anyways. It works for both Vanilla Pharmacist and Amalgamation Pharmacist. I would suspect even for RPGO Pharmacist

Should be compatible with pretty much everything except mods that change the same things on Stimguns.

Can I use this without ABA? I don't mind the animation to be non-ray. I presume that if I don't use ABA, the "medkit" will shoot the pistol bullet effect, right?

Unfortunately, outside of making an entirely new model for the Stimgun, there doesn't seem to be any way to keep the Medikit textures when converting the Stim Gun.
It should still work in replacing the bullets with the healing beam tho.

OMG! I did this exact thing a couple of years ago, with RustyDios assistance in getting it to work :D

I'm glad someone actually made it into a mod, tho I only found it after spending two days working in the WSR again because I got a new laptop and my previous files were lost :D
This should make it easier to fix should I take a big break again ^^

I see you've run into the same problem I did, in that Medikit gets the correct shape, however seems to keep original Stimgun's (Pistol) textures.

ABA is needed for the drone beam animation i use for "shooting" the stimgun. So without it you will still pistol shot.

Maybe you can find a similar effect though

Can I use this mod without ABA because i don't use this mod anymore?

Considering some of the name in the code is different than base Pharmacist (whenever I updated it to be already implemented into the mod) it makes sense it doesn't work. If I can somehow implement compatibility, I'll end up doing it whenever I get the Pharmacist updated.

What this mod should do:
Stimgun on your soldier should look like a medikit
Stimgun in inventory screen should have different images like in the screenshot
When you fire the Stimgun it should be like the healing bream of the ABA drone

that's everything this mod does
