Observation:
This is the optimal path only in my opinion, so people are free to find paths that they think are better if for them other things are more important than those i appreciate.

The truth is: i made this specific guide basicallyto avoid forgetting how to get what i think is the best save.
RNG Warning:
Both the investment mechanics and the Estate Random Events that appear before management turns depend in luck, if you had bad luck you can always restart the chapter at the end of it.
Prologue
#Wulfram is mistaken; we must maintain our defences, regardless of the difficulty.

#Wulfram's words must be answered, and I will answer them.

#"My apologies, Your Grace, but I am already spoken for this evening."

#I ought to speak with Palliser.

#I should see what exactly the Takaran ambassador is doing here.

#"To be frank, I find the new style rather tedious myself."

#Palliser's sentiment is noble, and I am sure his intentions are good. I approve.
Chapter 1:
#…negotiations which came to nothing, in the end.

#I shall try to inspire them, convince them that we are bound for greater things.

#"Times are hard for all; I cannot afford to lower rents anytime soon."

#The village could use some improvements.

#Let's see to refurbishing the village shrine.

#I mean to attend to the matter of my family's debts.

#I must try to renegotiate the interest on my loans.

#There must be some way to keep myself occupied.

#Some quiet reading will cure my ennui and keep my mind sharp, too.

#"You would be most welcome to stay here a while."

#The realm needs me; I must go to Aetoria and make my voice heard.
Chapter 2:
#I appoint Loch as my estate manager.

#Perhaps I may talk these men down?

#"You could choose to work for me."

#These men must hang, and I will ensure that they do.

#Examine the options available in Saint Octavia's Park.

#I will choose something modest—by the area's standards, anyhow.

#I mean to attend to the matter of my family's debts.

#I'll draw upon my connections to arrange a new loan on more favourable terms.

#I will see what friends in the capital are willing to assist me.

#I should send some money home, to help improve my fief.

500

#The Shipowners' Club sounds like my sort of place. I should look into it.

#I shall apply to join the Shipowners Club without further delay.

#"My estate offers me a reliable source of potential investment capital."

#"I am a Lord of the Cortes, surely that means something?"

#"I have a great deal of influence in certain circles."

#"I already possess some experience in regards to financial investment."

Chapter 3:
#"I fear Her Highness is right. We must consider the repercussions of even our personal decisions."

#"I accept, Your Highness."

#"It is good to see you as well, my lady."

#"Perhaps we may speak again sometime."

#Wulfram goes too far! I vote against!

#A divided Cortes? Oh, there is profit to be made here!

#I don't give a damn about my reputation if it means getting rich!

#I would like to consider making some investments.

#I am investing 5000 crown.

#I mean to attend to the matter of my family's debts.

#I'll draw upon my connections to arrange a new loan on more favourable terms.

#Perhaps the Shipowners can offer me some assistance here.

#I should send some money home, to help improve my fief.

#"Shall I call upon you sometime?"

#"Very well, I shall make a donation."

150

#I mean to attend to the matter of my family's debts.

#I mean to ask for a modest loan; 1000 crown, perhaps?

#I should send some money home, to help improve my fief.

500

#I would like to consider making some investments.

#I wish to invest more of my funds.

#I mean to invest 2500 crown.

#I mean to see about enhancing my reputation and influence.

#I should host a few dinners, invite my neighbours, and gain their friendship.

#I can't spare anything. I must rely upon my good humour and tasteful décor.

#I must turn my attention to the Army Reform Commission.

#We'll learn the most from the experiences of the junior officers. I vote with Palliser.

#I mean to see about enhancing my reputation and influence.

#I should work towards increasing my stature within the Shipowners Club.

#I mean to see about enhancing my reputation and influence.

#I work towards swaying my fellow club members towards the King's faction.

#I vote against the Duke of Wulfram's budget.

#If the Kian are willing to assist us, then that is only for the good.

#I mean to attend to the matter of my family's debts.

#I must try to renegotiate the interest on my loans.

#I would like to manage my investments.

#I wish to invest more of my funds.

#I mean to invest 2500 crown.

#The Club sounds like a good way to spend a winter.

#"I would be happy to join you, sir."

#"We are men of means, surely we can do better than that?"

#I play as hard as I can, and I play to win.

#I play aggressively in the hopes of securing a fortune.

#I should send some money home, to help improve my fief.

1000

#I must stay in Aetoria. I have obligations here I must fulfil.

Chapter 5:
#"To tell the truth, you've been a pain in my backside."

#"Very well. Let us set our efforts to this scheme."

#"We must tell every investor who will listen."

#"What do you think, Master Blanco? Could we sell ten thousand Crown worth of shares?"

#I'd better stop Castermaine before he scuttles the idea of standard officer training altogether.

#It is my duty to speak in support of the Kian treaty.

#I vote in favour of the treaty and the King's budget.
Chapter 6:
#"The Crown has my support, Your Highness."

#I would like to manage my investments.

#I mean to reorder my investments so that they're more profitable.

#It's worth the risk. I proceed.

#They will not drive me out of the Cortes!

#I cannot allow myself to be insulted with impunity.
Chapter 7:
#"I am well, sir—and very pleased to be under your command once more."

#Before all else, soldiers must have discipline!

#No compromise: this Commission cannot hamstring itself for the sake of politickal expediency.

#"You seem very sure of this, Your Grace."

#"I mean to keep the peace, Your Grace, regardless of the circumstances."
Chapter 8:
#We should keep our distance and observe, but no more unless necessary.

#So long as the crowd remains peaceful, we can leave them be.

#"I cannot apologise for my actions. I did what I thought right."

#"I mean to take this seriously. Seal off the streets, find me some witnesses."

#Press the investigation, we must see where this ends.

#It would be best if I stayed out of this debate.

#The Commission should recommend full and immediate adoption.

#First Squadron is the softest of the lot, I'll pitch in there.

#Each incident must be judged individually, independent of politickal circumstance or allegiance.
Chapter 9:
#"Saints above, Sir Caius. It is good to see you again."

#On the contrary, it is her devotion to duty which attracts me, among other things.

#"Second Squadron is in dire need of reinforcement; restoring it to strength ought to be top priority."

#"I am a loyal Queen's Officer. I'll not sup with her enemies."

#"I do not warrant it worth the risk."

if using the initially 18 shipowners build:
#I must look to restoring my own physickal and mental fitness.
#My ability to lead and inspire has dulled over the years; I must hone it again.

#I need a diversion; some games of Tassenswerd at the Shipping Exchange will suffice.

#I won't pass up this opportunity to profit as much as I can.

#"Very well, count me in."

#I play a ten—and try to go for the prize myself.

#I must keep these guns locked away, where they can cause no harm.

#If I am to rely upon the men, I must ensure that they are loyal to me.

#There's no better way to secure a soldier's loyalty than through coin.

#The enlisted men would certainly react well to getting a bonus of two months' pay.

#I take a personal hand in the regiment's drill, to prepare them for what is to come.

#First Squadron is most in want of drill, it shall take priority.

#I take a personal hand in the regiment's drill, to prepare them for what is to come.

#Second Squadron is my personal command, and thus ought to be prioritised.

if using the initially 25 shipowners build:
#I might still use my connections at the club to strengthen my position.
#I mean to use my status within the Shipowners to advance the goals of my faction.
Chapter 10:
#Captain Sandoral will have First Squadron.

#Embody the Houseguard. Should the Royalist party have need of it, then I shall be ready.

#"What of the Great Kian? Will they help us?"

#"I suppose that would be the wisest decision, given the circumstances."

#"We should bide our time, see what Wulfram does first."

#There are yet things I can do to make certain the regiment's loyalty.

#A traitor with a loaded musket is within thirty paces of my sovereign! Protect the Queen!
Chapter 11:
#"I'll give the men one last inspection."

#"I must address the regiment, make sure the situation is clear to them."

#"If we must fight, I mean to be prepared; fetch me my sword and armour!"

#We must charge the mob! Quickly, before Grenadier Square is overrun!

#Second Squadron will lead the charge.

#I'll leave my wounded here, both for their safety and to aid in the defence.

#I can spare a few to help fortify Grenadier Square.

#I'll send out patrols to rally any nearby supporters and bring them here.

#The volunteers would only slow us down. We leave them all here.

#"We must all go to the Queen's aid, without delay—even if it means abandoning this enterprise."
Chapter 12:
#"Saints be damned! You have stolen my thunder!"

#"I will do my utmost, sir."

#We have no time for delays: send in the Grenadiers!

#"Intendant, how much covering fire could your Skirmishers give us from here?"

#It's time to put Reyes' sharpshooters in position to cover the shore batteries.

#No more delays. It's time to launch the assault!

#"Send in the militias."

#Call the militias forward and send them in.

#We should shoot to disable one of Crittenden's ships, without harming her crew.

Epilogue:
#"And I am very pleased to see you as well, my lady."

Well, I followed most of your guide starting from Sabres, I only changed some choices by choosing "Cunning" in Guns' prologue and advocating for women officers during Welles' introduction that should be chosen for only a 2K path. But I didn't choose that personally so that might've changed some things a bit. Also noticed that I got 3800 after the Secret Mission as opposed to your screenshot of having 3900 more. I moved on from investing that 2500 in Lords anyway and just hoping to make it large by restarting some chapters. Thanks for the clarification though.

Some choices in the guide demand having followed past choices from Sabres to Lords, especially as far as money goes, but hanging the roadsmen only gives extra reputation and content, so maybe the lack of reputation is screwing up some choice later as following the guide should not result in bankruptcy.

It's so hard to invest 2500 crowns during the last part of Chapter 4. I don't think that will even be good for me since investing 1000 crowns makes me bankrupt either way. I followed the guide except on the part where I didn't choose to hang the roadsmen on the early chapters. Is that the reason why I'm lacking money? Haven't explored that part yet.

There are several events to avoid, some to seek, and some that the result depend in fief stats.
It's included in the management guide.

if holt is at 75 or more it increases by 10% with that option, the good friend option only increases it by 5%.

Aight thanks, I made sense of it now.

Regarding estates random events, is there any you want to have / avoid ? I got the inheritence one twice in the last 2 playthrough I did for instance and I can't tell if it's a positive or not lmao.

Also, why tell Holt "you're a pain" ? I checked the files and either I can't understand it or it's been changed, but my holt is at 73. It doesn't change if I say "you were a pain" and it goes to 74 if I choose "you were a good friend". Again, might be a Me problem.

It's very luck based: 0% is very unlucky, 20% is decent, 40% good, 60% excellent, 80% unlikly and 100%+ is a miracle.
Profit is a roll of -10% to +10 plus the modifier from intellect + club influence /10.
Following the guide it's 14.4% after the reordering.
There are some penalties in some turns but normally profit is from 4,4% to 19,4%.

What kind of return should I expect on the investments ? Got 845 off of the initial 5000, looks like a good number (almost 20%) but is it ?
Tiago  [author] 1 Oct, 2023 @ 11:46am
as long as you have 65 of charisma and intellect you win
Frezman 1 Oct, 2023 @ 5:35am
I lost the tassenwerd game against Meran and I followed the walkthrough to the letter. Is the outcome randomized each time you play?
