Conversely, you could pump 30 humanity into the Daughters of Chaos covenant to access the Lost Izolith short cut to the right of Demon Firesage's fog wall and kill all the sunlight maggots to save Solaire.

If tossing that much humanity bothers you, you could get a weapon with a ranged weapon art, like the golem axe or Dragon greatsword from Ash Lake and use the weapon art through the door until you manage to kill one of the maggots. That *should* save Solaire.
